Breni Posted February 11, 2006 Share Posted February 11, 2006 Someone asked me why in the world should I root for the Bills even if I don'have a chance to see them in TV. The main reason is that I have a (maybe masochistic) keen for teams renewed for the intensity of their game and their proud history. An history that is often made of terroble losses but also of proud wins. I must say that I saw The Comeback live, on TV. At that time some matches were broadcasted here in Italy by a cable-tv. I was flashed by the proudness that those Bills showed, and I fell in love with them. Now we have the Olimpic Games in Italy, in Turin, and this helps me to tell you another tale of proudness, tragedy and suffering (does that reminds you something?). It's the story of a soccerl team, the second team of Turin. It's the blue-collar team, called Torino and wearing crimson uniforms. An article on The Herald Tribune explains fairly well what happened and I think that it's an interesting read in those days fo doldrums. http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/02/10/sports/oly.php I must also add that Torino had also its Comeback. During the match with Juventus (the other team of Turin, the rich and hated one) in 1983 Torino managed to score three goals in less that 4 minutes after trailing 0-2 for most of the game, winning a game that I must show to my nephews if I ever will have some. Thah's why Bills and Torino are my favourite teams. Let's hope that nowadays Bills will show soon the same proudness that I used to see those days. Breni, Parma, Italy. As well as the daughter of the owner (who is too old to run things) has destroyed this team. Juve is destroying soccer. The English fans started it I believe and when Juventus and Liverpool faced last year in the CHampions League semi-finals, the Liverpool fans offered their apology in a banner in which the Juventus fans responded with a hateful chant.
