When is the Q and A released?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering, this one should be a gem.

Among other BS that should pop up soon (outside of TD's roster) will be how great it will be for the NFL to take away a Bills home game and give it to Toronto.

Yeah, OK.

Believe it or not, that probably won't happen. Here's why:

A large motivating factor in moving AZ vs. SF to Mexico was $$$. That was a Cardinals home game. They already draw flies for good teams. You probably would have seen tumbleweeds blowing accross the field if they played it in Phoenix.

Now the Bills regularly fill a 72,000+ seat facility at about a $45 ticket average. That's a gross of $3,240,000 US. The Rogers Center, formerly the SkyDome holds only 50,000. You would have to have an average ticket price of $80 CDN just to equal that gross.

Now do you go to all the trouble of moving a regular season game just to make the same $$$? Also figure that while Toronto likes the Bills, they are not starving for NFL football. If you try to make some money and charge a $100 CDN average ticket, you risk NOT selling out.

The only teams that will consider a neutral site game like that are teams that aren't drawing well at home anyway. How many teams besides Arizona are like that?
