That was fun to read! Good story, nice plot twists, and interesting characters.

I saw a review from a "Kindle Customer" that looks very familiar to this comment. So I'll say thank you very much. :)

And if anyone else gives it a read or has read it, I will thank you very much for any reviews left on Amazon. They do help as much or more than anything in convincing prospective buyers to give it a try.

This is me having a little fun on my Facebook author page . . .  M. K. Danielson - Author

Welcome to Book Club meeting #1. Today's subject – Propounderance.

No, beloved readers, I did not misspell the word preponderance on page 45 of Deadly Possession. The word is propounderance. And yes, I am fully aware that's not really a word.

Why then, you might ask, would I use such a non-existing word? Well . . . honestly, it should be a word. Consider for now the root of the word – propound: to put forward or offer for consideration, acceptance, or adoption; set forth; propose.

Now, just as we see right in the above definition, the word acceptance, as we all know means – that which is accepted, or is to be accepted, or has been accepted. Following this literary line, it stands to reason that the word propounderance should come to mean that which is propounded, is to be propounded, or has been propounded. And that is the meaning aimed for on page 45.

Now for those of you who haven't yet read Deadly Possession (shame on you), let's bring up a little context. The paragraph reads – Tommy filled a cooler with beer. He took it out to the front porch, ignoring the propounderance of salad that stared up at him. He rolled the gas grill over next to the TV, got a chair and sat down. He popped the top off a fresh beer, grabbed a piece of perfectly cooked chicken, put his feet up on the cooler and watched the race.

As you can see, the word preponderance would have no place in that sentence. Not even close to the right word. Okay, so why use propounderance, and what's so important about the salad anyway? Why even include it? Fair questions. We know from our first meeting of Tommy that he is recently, once again, back together with his girlfriend, Lisa, with whom he admittedly has an ongoing contentious relationship. In the text body preceding the above paragraph, Tommy and Lisa have a doozy of a fight, during which, in addition to them screaming and name calling before Lisa leaves, a salad, that was meant to go with the grilled chicken, gets spilled on the floor.

In the immediate aftermath of the fight, we, the reader, need to know that this time Tommy has really had it with Lisa. We need to feel that this isn't just another run of the mill fight, but that he's totally fed up and feels like he's completely done with her. And in this immediate aftermath there are two reminders of what just happened – a grill full of mostly perfect chicken, except for the two burned pieces that spawned the latest clash, and a freshly made salad that sits spilled on the floor.

Now most all us would move to clean up the salad immediately, as leaving it on the floor just isn't right in anybody's world. But in this instance, Tommy, needing to distance himself from all things Lisa, at least in his present, short term post-fight cool-down, chooses to leave the salad on the floor for the time being.

So why not just tell you, the beloved reader, all that in so many words like those above? Well, it has to do with great writing. 🤣😁Quality literature arrives when the author shows the reader what the character is feeling rather than telling the reader. Show-don't-tell is where it's at when looking for the audience to connect with characters. So given that the reader already knows the backstory behind the salad on the floor, rather than spell out Tommy's feelings by telling the reader something like, this time Tommy felt like he was really, really done with Lisa (boring)🤑, we can add just enough anthropomorphization🤔 to the salad in order to give it enough of its own life to not sit inanimately on the floor, but to offer itself up (propound itself), tauntingly, to Tommy as a mocking reminder of what just happened. And when we see (not hear about) Tommy choosing to ignore the propounderance of salad, at least for the short term, we, the beloved reader, can see and feel the same frame of mind the character, Tommy is in. Show the reader in a sentence rather than tell the reader with a paragraph. Great literature.😉

Writing like this, my friends, is why, someday (when we're all long gone), Deadly Possession will be talked about as a literary classic, right alongside others like Moby Dick and The Grapes of Wrath.🤣😂😎🥇

The word is propounderance. It's not in the dictionary, but it's my word, and it stays. Thanks for joining today's book club meeting, beloved reader. I heart you all.❤️

Hey gang. Just an FYI for those who don't know. You don't need an actual Kindle reader to read Kindle ebooks. They're made to work on almost all platforms including phones, tablets, laptops and PCs with no expensive extra software. Ebooks are a very economical way to read. Deadly possession is available for only $2.99 on Amazon.

Thanks for reading and to those who left reviews.

Okay I try to refrain from the shameless bumps. But its been a few months, LOL.

My book has been on Amazon for a year now. And while I can't say I'm getting rich it is fun to tell my friends that I have sales in 5 countries on 3 continents. Yes that's right, I'm a world-wide author. 🤣

I recently had a book signing event at a local bar/restaurant. It was a lot of fun and very cool as its local and a lot of the people know me. But the really neat part was seeing people I haven't seen in years who came out just to get their book signed. Some were even long-lost cousins. And at the end of the day, I had hit over $700 in sales (pats self on back). So I'm starting to believe people when they tell me it's a good read.

Anyway I promise to make this the last shameless bump (at least in this thread🤣😎). But if any of you are interested, you can get it in hard cover or paperback. The ebook is only $3.99 (and can be read on any platform including your phone), and if you have Kindle Unlimited you can read it for free.

If you do buy a copy I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And I hope you like it. And if you do like it I hope you take a few moments to return to the Amazon site and leave me a positive review. All reviews add up and help sell books to perfect strangers. And they don't have to be long, drawn-out dissertations. If you just say "great book" or "I liked it" it helps just as much. Or if you say "it sucks, don't waste your money" well, that's the chance I take when putting it out there. Love you all just the same. Thanks for taking time to read my final shameless bump. Peace.🤩

EDIT: Aw heck, I might as well go all-in with the bump. Here's a review left on Amazon by our very own Muppy -

This book has well developed characters and an intriguing creepy paranormal villain. He pops up unexpectantly and in very creepy ways. I hope that is enough info to entice you to buy this book. Based in
WNY with a mixture of real and imagined locales. I found it very entertaining. I hope to read a sequel from this author. 5 stars*****

"Page turner" and "couldn't put it down" are cliches, but there just aren't better ways to describe Deadly Possession. Once I got just a few pages into it, I went back to it every chance I got. It's fundamentally a crime story with one supernatural character whose presence drives the plot. It's exciting and dramatic, page after page. As Danielson's characters encounter the supernatural presence, they respond realistically, with disbelief and confusion, and they make plausible decisions under extraordinary circumstances. The story races along, building to a dramatic conclusion that really works. I enjoyed it from start to finish.

You don't believe in the supernatural? I don't, either. Just go with it; you won't be disappointed.

And lastly, here's one from a complete stranger in the United Kingdom -
