Latest WaPo Poll of NA's on 'Redskins' name...

Recommended Posts

PFT ran this and was quick, to the point, and absolutely disappointed (because the results mirror the 2016 poll that found 9 in 10 Native Americans were not offended by the name).  Btw...noticed in the WaPo article how they phrased the question.  Talk about leading.  Holy cow.  Anyway from PFT:

Poll of Native Americans’ view of Redskins name finds “proud” most common answer

A new survey has found that Native Americans are more likely to be proud than offended by the name of the Washington Redskins.

The survey, as reported by the Washington Post, asked 500 people who identify as Native American to pick from a list of words which one best described their feelings about the Redskins name. The word most picked was “proud.”

But the WaPo itself?:

A survey explores how Native Americans feel about the name Washington Redskins. No, it’s not that survey. This one is new.

The majority of Native Americans still aren’t offended by the name of the Washington Redskins.  **GASP!!  HOW??**

That finding *(which we're going to take like 30 paragraphs before we get to it)* is from a recent survey and — as you probably remember, even if you’ve tried to forget *(only the sad white guilt ridden want to)* — falls in line with what a Washington Post poll found three years ago and an Annenberg Public Policy Center poll found 12 years before that.
