What's stopping him from just opening the gates and letting the other 140 or so that are left go too? Or do you think there's back room dealing going on to let these five rejoin the Taliban so we can better negotiate with them when they take power back in Afghanistan? Too clever by half - or dumb as a box of rocks? There was no US national security issue at stake here that would allow Hagel to release these scum.
