The Cheatriots strike again. Cundiff didn't know what down it was.

If that happened, it's probably because the scoreboard operator thought the first down play resulted in another 1st down (which I thought it should have and that Boldin got a poor spot).

Regardless, the Ravens coaching staff should be able to count to 4 without help from the scoreboard.

The whole last drive by the Ravens was botched… twice by the replay official and then finally by Harbaugh.

The spot on the play you mention was nearly a one-yard mis-spot. The actual spot should have been very close to (if not) a first down. Instead of 1st and 10 the mis-spot resulted in 2nd and 1.

Almost no one talks about this play but like the pass to Evans in the end zone, it was inside of two minutes and a review should have come down from the replay official upstairs.

On both of this play to Boldin and the one to Evans, if I was the Ravens (Harbaugh) I would have seriously considered calling a time out, and then madly gesticulated towards the scoreboard while talking to the referee in hopes of compelling a review of the play by the comatose replay official.

The next two plays after the mis-spot were incomplete passes including the pass to Evans which regardless of whether you feel was the correct call or not, it should have been reviewed also.

Because of the mis-spot and the ensuing two plays, instead of 3rd and 10, the situation was 4th and 1.

So the replay official botched two plays in that set of downs and adversely affected the end game, keeping in mind that Harbaugh made no attempt to pressure a replay review by any means possible.

Finally you don't necessarily want to "ice" your own kicker but when the alternative is that he has to belatedly sprint out on the field and not have the time to get into his pre-field goal routine and get into his comfort zone, the Ravens definitely made a mistake by not calling a time out.

It was a horrible sequence and I was surprised that Harbaugh stood by and watched it unfold without trying to better impact the situatiion.

Baltimore Ravens kicking consultant Randy Brown told Angelo Cataldi and The Morning Team today on 94 WIP that the scoreboard in New England was incorrect during that final drive. “The scoreboard was one down behind, the entire last three plays, from what we understand,” Brown said. That caused Billy Cundiff to have to rush on to the field with just seconds left on the play clock to try and make the kick, which he missed.

Yes The Cravens should have called a TO. but that doesn't excuse YET another equipment malfunction at Gillette!!!!!!!

The coaching staff knew what down it was. They obviously assumed their kicker knew also, hence no TO called. This is all on the kicker, who blew an easy kick with plenty of time to make it.

Then you blame the coaching staff. They knew he was on the FAR side of the field doing his pre kick rituals!!!
