It wasn't like the league came back around to him, his hiring was a shot in the dark. As an aside, when Everitt McIver was the LT for the Jets briefly he whiffed on Bruce Smith in a game at the Ralph and Bruce nearly killed Boomer Esiason on the field. He was able to get out before the shoe dropped, and Jerry admits what a mistake that was. I am guessing Jerry is not the type to admit being wrong too often, so it says a lot for our guy.
