Pass rush

Recommended Posts

As of right now, Kelsay and Maybin are the Bills primary pass rushers and it doesn't look like Schobel is coming back. The Bills had a few shots now at some very good pass rushers and we take a RB when we have 2 good ones and now a NT when they said that KW was playing there?

I'm calling it right now, the Bills will be in the bottom of the league in sacks. But they will lead the league in "excitement"!!!!!!!!

I know that you've been hurt before. But you can't be afraid to love again. Have courage my friend.

The kid (Moats) we just took in the sixth looks like a natural pass rusher. Here's what SI is saying about him.

Analysis: Moats has been one of the better small school pass rushers the past two seasons and has been a disruptive force, consistently blowing up plays in the backfield. He's a pass rush specialist who will be brought onto the field in third-down situations and lined up as either a one-gap defensive end or outside linebacker for an NFL team.

Jenkins, Williams, Wilfork or any other NT would not make a bit of difference with Kelsay and Maybin rushing the QB. Jenkins, Williams and Hampton all went down this year and it didn't effect their defenses one bit.

That's an interesting statement to make, considering no one has seen how poorly or well Maybin will play at rush LB. The same could be said for Chris Ellis and Kelsay as well, considering neither one of them has played the position on this defense or with this scheme. If you're so good at predicting the future, perhaps you should start picking stocks for a living. Foresight is really good in that business, I would guess.

You don't have to be Nostradamus to predict complete disaster from that trio. We'll see. Don't worry, I never say that I told you so.

No, but you'd have to be pretty close to that to predict complete disaster from those guys when we haven't seen how they play the position. Maybin has an unbelievable first step and good moves to make a very effective pass rusher from the OLB position. Kelsay isn't in there at OLB to blitz, he'll be used primarily on rushing downs to plug gaps. If Schobel comes back, I expect him to have a very good season rushing the passer from the outside, though time will tell if that is true. To predict complete disaster from three guys who have the skill set to do very well at the position is a bit ludicrous at this point.

And generally, it's people who are wrong most of the time that feel the need to tell everyone "I told you so" when they're right.
