The Bills need to make a statement

The Buffalo Bills need to come out and make a announcement that they are in control of the coaching hunt situation and are in no hurry to find the next HC. Explaining how they hold the cards and are simply waiting for the playoffs to wind down so they can make the right decision. I dont believe they should hire one to quickly incase a better option could have been had later. In making this public statement it will give them credibility, settle down the fans and end the jokes being made about the organization.

They already have.

Just generally, the Bills do a really lousy job staying in touch with the fans. They never give interviews to the paper or WGR, and even Chris Brown doesn't get more than 5 minutes with Buddy Nix. It doesn't have to be anybody's top priority by any means, but Russ Brandon could probably spare fifteen minutes to do a radio spot.

I think there's a danger that a statement like that could come off as a desperate plea for credibility and could weaken their position. Someone who is genuinely in control doesn't feel the need to say so. Not to say that anyone is panicking yet at OBD, but it's probably not best to draw attention to the fact that the options are dwindling somewhat.

Their marketing department is aloof. Management doesn't help the cause by making strange decisions, like cancelling a ring ceremony without even telling their HOF RB who happens to have a 2 hour show Monday's on WGR.

Couple that with the lack of information on the DJ extension in late 2008, retaining DJ in December 08, or firing the coaching staff and trying to say they weren't fired but free to look for work.

Even when people attempt to speak with RW, he's closely guarded by the likes of Scott Berchtold, VP of Communications. It's a sad thing when they're afraid of what their owner might say.

no one at WGR seems to ever have a clue as to what the Bills are doing except maybe TT.

you want credibility? Schopp asks Clayton every Thurs at 5pm about the state of the Bills!!

What in the Hell are you talking about? The only reason you want a statement is because you are losing your mind on the lack of action you are so craving. They are doing things, probably nothing a fan really wants to hear, but there is aciton. It's a business and you will know something when there is something to tell....

Beat me to it. I would also add: "What's the point of starting another thread about this subject?"

Are you so sure? Maybe they're like all of us... sitting around refreshing these boards hoping for the first glimpse of a new coach hire, instead of working. Only problem is, it still hasn't set in that they're the ones supposed to be doing the hiring that they're waiting on the internet to read about.
