State of the Bills

Impressive point Kipers Hair.

He is right on the money with this one. You could go to JV (College) for a year and wait it out if you were a good candidate.

I know if I were a premier HC candidate, I wouldnt even answer the phone if the Bills called. ZERO SUCCESSION plan publicly stated, RW's kids could give a **** about this team.

Why put yourself into this situation, when you can wait it out a year and look at other possible opportunities?

I disagree with this. Why wouldnt the head coach just have an out clause written into his contract if the team is sold or moved,or God forbid Ralph passes. Its not that difficult and they can walk if that were to happen.

No Quarterback

Arguably the worst O-line in the league

2 of our 3 starting WR's are not under contract anymore (Owens and Reed are out)

We have no Tight End

We have a completely undersized Defense which will require wholesale changes if anyone wants to change the scheme.

We have a farm league baseball marketing guy running the show

The Weather, arguably the worst amongst the entire NFL

Russ could accentuate the positives (some of these are jokes, some are not):

Clean slate with a QB of your choice.

Rebuilt interior line with promising youngsters, doesn't look so bad when guys are healthy. LT is a need; we've got nothing here (sorry for not drafting Oher or Clady)

TE Shawn Nelson is a keeper, Schouman shows promise.

Maybe you don't need a defense? If you install the "extra huddle" offense, we can run enough time off the clock to keep the defense fresh and ready for overpursuit! Plus, they get INTs!

The Marlins won two championships, in front of no one!

The Weather is just as bad in Cleveland and NE, and Holmgren and Belicheck went there, respectively.

I disagree a lot with your post...

1. We have Brohm, a very promising young QB who many coaches loved coming out of college who was very accurate and has a big arm. Good young prospect to develop, plus we have the 9th pick in the draft if the incoming coach isnt high on Brohm.

2. Arguably the most hurt by inury O Line in the league...we have a lot of good talent on this O line in Wood, Levitre, and Butler...Hangartner is ok at Center, and we just need to add a LT. This O Line could be much improved once healthy next year, especially if we sign a LT in FA or draft one high...

3. We still have Evans at WR and 2 prospects in Johnson and Hardy. We may bring TO back yet, and we could always pick up another WR in FA or draft. Not as bad as you would make it seem.

4. We have a very promising young TE in Nelson, not to mention Stupar and Fine are solid and would look much better on a team that could actually pass. Our TE core is actually pretty good, our QB's have just made them look bad.

5. Our Defense has a top secondary (one of the hardest things to build), a future stud in Byrd, solid DT's, and is really lacking depth more than an over haul.

6. We have a GM now in Nix who is highly respected for his football eye around the NFL

7. The Bills weather is just as bad as many teams, many top teams, in the NFL...Buffalo is not the only one with this type of weather, and MANY would argue that Chi is the worst weather in the NFL.

We have a top 5 pass defense because we could not stop the run. Why pass when you could run the ball? We had a top 5 pass defense in stats only, when we needed a stop they could not do it. Just look at the NE games, when we needed to stop the pass we folded and lost both games! We are great until it is really needed.

Um, Byrd wasnt activated yet in the first meeting or the second meeting who is easily our biggest playmaker in the passing game...not to mention we lost McKelvin for the second game too as well as other starters, especially at LB.

And in the second meeting NE scored 14 of its 17 points in the second quarter and had no points in the 4th, so dont know where you are getting the whole we cant stop them when it counts thing in regards to that game.

So your theory doesnt really have much merit...
