  1. The decission by Buddy Nix to pass on Jared Gaither was not popular last summer. But it sure was the correct decission. Gaither hasn't played a down this year and now has been placed on season ending IR. Now, can Buddy find some players who can play?, that remains to be seen.

    http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/121908-gaither-on-the-outs-in-baltimore/

Maybe Buddy saw it playing out like this...therefore, he thought they should wait, saving the draft picks and contract extension money.

Which, if true...Buddy looks like a complete and total GENIUS! :flirt:

Way to be original with your post...it was a horrible DECISION to start a new thread on this same topic! :wallbash:

  2. And Darth, until that happens, there's no sense in even cheering for the #1 draft pick, 'cause this bunch would blow it.

Of course they would...I mean look at what they did with the recent #9 they wasted...

The proof is in the pudding...right below your post in your signature! :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash: Is he that stupid?!

8/28/2010 - C.J. Spiller: "I like the direction we are going. If we can stay healthy, we can be a very explosive team. We can be one of the best in the NFL, if not The Best.. The main thing is staying healthy and staying humble."

  3. Nope. The NBA is the next NHL.

The NBA is in the best shape of all the 4 major sports if you ask me.

Nobody cares about hockey. Football is ruining itself. Baseball has always sucked.

The NBA has amazing rivals and headlines. I think it has gotten better!

  4. Diggin deep for this one but in 2007 when the Fish went 1-15

they got their W from none other than loud mouth Ray Ray and the Ravens.

Ya, I know the Ravens went 5-11 that year and look better this year but

    It can happen.

    Suck it Ray, Go Bills.

Ray Lewis CAN be a loud-mouth...because he can back it up and is one of the best players to put on an NFL uniform, EVER!

Too bad there is not a single player on the Bills team who we can even HOPE to say that about some day...we have not had a player like that since Bruce Smith!

    -scroll down to the bottom.

If he isn't a dead ringer for this kid, he's got me fooled. Hilarious even if it came from a Baltimore fan site!

I needed a laugh before this weeks matchup.

    GO BILLS!!

You do realize that the link is the VERY first one on the front page right? :wallbash:

Is Wood a "dead ringer" for that kid...or is Chris Kelsay a "dead ringer" for Henry Rollins?

  6. Are you kidding me? I understand where Schlereth is coming from, but I don't care who you are-there is a differece between playing tough and playing dirty. We sell DVD'S on tough hits, but they are clean. Schlereth is a cry baby. I used to like him a lot, but no way do I give a !@#$ what he has to say. He's the new Sean 'Berry.

Yeah and if you listened to ANYTHING he said...he clearly stated that "tough hits" and playing "tough" are a part of the game and what these guys pride themselves on. Dirty, cheap shots have no place in the NFL, or the game of football. Both Schlereth and myself agreed on exactly what you just said. :wallbash:

  7. Maybin is going to be doing that. I expect to see a play where Heap catches a ball around the 5 yard line drags Maybin into the end zone & right after they cross the goal line, Maybin tackles him, then does a celebration dance & becomes the 1st defensive player ever to get called for excessive celebration in the endzone when the offense just scored a TD.

    Wow that is funny! :worthy:

I would probably start both Willis and Ray. The Jets gorged the Bills.

I bet Willis has a HUGE game against us...it will be embarrassing.

Oh sorry, we don't cover tight ends.

We don't even know what those are...how to identify one...and if we did, we wouldnt know how to use it!

  8. Thank you. Excellent points.

And the year before that (2009, when Nix was Nat'l Scout) he took Wood & Levitre - probably wanted Orapko too, but was over-ridden by Jauron (just speculation on my part, but I'm stickin' with it).

I agree completely with the OP (even though he's nasty) - Nix most definitely has a plan, and isn't going to draft busts just to satisfy the fans. Once Williams and Okung were gone in 2010, Anthony Davis didn't excite Nix and he thought he had a once-in-a-lifetime type player available in C.J. Spiller. He's probably right. I tend to trust Nix and his draft record in San Diego more than the armchair GMs and wah-mbulance drivers on TSW.

When Levy v.1 first got here, he won 2 games after taking over from Hank Bullough and the Bills went 4-11 for the season. The next season, 7-8. Then 12-4, then 9-7, then 4 consecutive Superbowls.

Stop all the bitchin' and give Nix a year or two, ferchrissakes. :wallbash:

Only thing is...that once-in-a-lifetime type player came out a few years ago...his name was Reggie Bush.

Then another came out, his name was Chris Johnson.

Then came out Percy Harvin, another one of them types of players.

Then another named CJ Spiller...but he was not alone, he was joined by players IDENTICAL to him...Jahvid Best and Dexter McCluster.

Out of those 6 players...Buddy ended up with the worst one! :wallbash: (He spent a #9 overall on a 4th rounder and 6th or 7th rounder!)

  9. I was listening to a popular local radio talk show host in Florida. He hit the nail right on the head with a not so PC term that he made up called the Pussification of America. He was referring to at the time how disciplining your child by spanking had become so scrutinized in parenting or how bad parents have actually become with parenting in general not that he claimed to be such a genious at it. It's really very true. When I was a child i was only spanked 2 times in my childhood and not beaten spanked just sting spanked. I don't recall anything obviously happening very early on but I do remember why i was spanked those two times and I'm now thirty. I was 8 and 10. Once at 8 for stealing a toy from my sister when she was playing with it then when my parents told me to give it back i threw a fit and threw it at her and hit her in the head with it. I must say it was well deserved and it instilled a fear of my father that otherwise I had always somewhat had because he was tough on discipline. When my mom said, i'll tell your father what you are doing if you don't stop... I stopped. Obviously kids who are born into abusive families should have this known and not have to deal with it but as the talk show host put it, it's not the 21st century way to use hard discipline, it's the go sit in a corner and when you are done being bad then you can have your toys back. What happens... the kid does it again. Anyways the point of this whole post was to just say that his "pussification of america" has now been instilled in the NFL with the slap on the hands fines for hard hitting. I agree that there are some hits that are just blatant where the player missles with their helmet at the other player's head. That's fine, i agree with the rule there but incidental contact has been committed more times than not where a guy is just trying to make a play. Concussions happen in the nfl every year. Who are you commissioner to tell them to stop hitting so hard? It's freaking football for crying out loud!!!

As for the spanking vs. the undisciplined child with the PC parents and how that even ties into this rant... I do believe that there should be a no tolerance policy for these atheletes. 1 and done. What is wrong with that. There are plenty of college kids who are looking for a shot to make an NFL roster. Why should the High talent low character player reap the rewards if he is going out and getting caught with drugs or with guns or Hitting someone while intoxicated (Lynch) and driving off? OK too harsh? 1 chance to rebound and the one time you do screw up make the penalty more than just a sit in the corner for 2 games and when you come back you can play with your toys again. How about when you screw up once, you get DQ'd for the regular season without pay and if you do it again you're gone. Now i realize they are pulling some of their talent from not so nice neighborhoods and some of the Gangster mentality ensues but why do we pay a gangster millions of dollars just so we can watch him run 100 yards on a football field if he's going to then use the money to buy drugs, influence others to do bad or be a negative role model for young kids. I get so angry with teams that rehire players that A)Don't have a tough work ethic B) dont' have a team mentality C) have done wrong over and over D) Have 9 kids with 8 different women (Pacman Jones, Travis Henry, Haynesworth, Lynch and Probably a handful of others i can't even think of right now but i'm sure you know a few. Now you may say, wait so what a guy does off the field matters including how many kids they have with different women? What happens to morality, family morals, teaching your kid it isn't right to go off and be irresponsible. Maybe I'm old fashioned for 30 but I hate what's happend with "system" now. Both family life and quality people have suffered by their idols, these players that are 'stars' or just TV stars in general that are jackasses off the field/screen.

    MC.

Actually I cant think of any?

    Travis Henry...maybe!

    Pacman Jones has 1 daughter.

Albert Haynesworth has 2 sons and 1 daughter.

Marshawn Lynch has ZERO kids as far as I know.

Where do you get your information? :wallbash:

  10. I'm sure Corky knows you have to be out of high school 3 years to be eligible for the NFL draft - that would make the only RB possibilities on the ECCC roster...

    Zedric Joseph - 5'9" - 175 lbs. - Palm Beach Central, FL

    Bertrand Smith - 5'8" - 170 lbs. - Amherst, NY

    Nick Martone - 5'8" - 180 lbs. - Williamsville South, NY

    Brooks Estarfaa - 5'10" - 175 lbs. - Maryvale, NY

    Sean Mapp - 5'11" - 190 lbs. - Gorton, NY

Don't know their '40 times' - also, we want to run this by Astro to see what the scouts say.

    Git 'er done, Buddy! B-)

At least Chan shouldn't have a problem choosing a "scat-back" or "waterbug" out of that group!

(And I cannot believe there is a kid from Florida on that roster? Is that weird, or just me...A kid from Florida playing for ECCC?)

  11. Another unknown free agent steps in to start on the Bills offensive line this Sunday against the Ravens.

    Linky:

    http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/article225040.ece

Look out NFL, here comes Codero Howard, who was so highly thought of coming out of Georgia Tech that nobody drafted him - including the Bills, last April. Of course, Chan Gailey did recruit him, so of course Gailey knows more then anyone else in the NFL about him, so of course he will do just fine at RT against the Ravens defense. :wallbash:

I wonder if Buddy Nix knows that he is allowed to draft starting caliber offensive linemen. Take the 49ers as a case in point. They drafted Anthony Davis out of Rutgers with their first round choice just a few picks after Nix took Spiller. In fact, they even traded up to be in the position to draft him! Oh my God, what a strange idea that would be for Nix, who takes about 10 seconds to have his choices sprinted up to the podium as if he is jumping for joy to choose small college players like Terrel Troup and Arthur Moats, that no other team is even thinking about drafting that round!! NFL teams trade up - giving up those valuable extra picks, to target one player???? Nix would never dream of that, based on his performance last April.

    But I digress.

So the 49ers move up to draft Anthony Davis, who was just sitting there available for Nix to draft ahead of them, and what happens?? Take a look at the 49ers depth chart today - Davis is their starting right tackle!!!! Amazing, I'm sure Nix never thought that could happen, that's why he waited until the 4th round to draft Eddy Wang. No way could Davis ever start right away for his Buffalo Bills, Nix must have thought.

So now we will all have Cordero Howard to watch struggle against the Baltimore Ravens monster defense, while Cornell Green recovers from his "mystery injury", and at the same time, Anthony Davis continues to start as he has from day one at RT for the 49ers, gaining experience and earning his first round money.

And Buddy Nix is a "football guy", who believes you build through the draft?? :w00t::bag:

Did you forget about the last time an undrafted free agent started out at RT for us?

He then transformed into a Pro-Bowl caliber LT...

Then you all ran him outta town! :wallbash:

  12. So, what you're saying is not you, right? After all you mentored him.

Anyway, the kid looks pretty good.

No...I actually meant people in the school. That might be the 1 reason he is not playing football right now, nobody ever cared about him enough to help him with his academics. I could only do so much, as I was looked at more as an older brother, than a mentor, coach or teacher. Everyone was always so quick to blame him for acting up in school as well. I worked in the school, I went to that school...I know how they are. We never had a black kid on the basketball team til Gist came along, and he still did not play much, being one of the better players. Two boys I graduated with were amazing basketball players, but they were black. So they never made the team.

Canandaigua was happy with the recognition Kaheem Gist got them, they did not care what happened to him after that 2007 football season.

But what I was actually saying was that some kid from a small town in Upstate NY, looked just as good playing high school football as Barry Sanders JR.

  13. I dont know if anyone else on here has seen Barry Sanders Jr but i felt inclined to share this years highlight video of him in high school for those who haven't. The kid has amazing lateral ability and its amazing to me how quickly he can get to full speed. Apparently he was just on a recruiting visit to Alabama. I for one am excited to see this kid in college and whether or not he can translate his raw skills into a heisman one day.

    youtube.com/watch?v=Xu9Q04L4a7k

Here is a kid I coached and mentored, he grew up with my cousin (QB #12)...and he could have been something special with the right people in his corner. Kid had speed like I have NEVER seen before...and he was NOT big AT ALL!

Kaheem Gist senior season highlights. First team All-fingerlakes, All-Greater Rochester, and All-State. Figerlakes and All Greater Rochester player of the Year. 2,300 yrds and 42 TD's senior year, sectional record 449 yrds and 7 TD in one game, scored 7 TD in a single game twice, too many records to list.

Canandaigua Football was one of, if not the best team in all of New York State that year too!

    http://www.mpnnow.com/sports/x1375679850

Gist, by all measuring sticks, was having a fine senior campaign as the Braves completed a 6-0 regular season that included a second straight Finger Lakes East championship. He ran for 1,082 yards and scored 16 TDs in those six games, numbers that basically were expected from the third-year starter.

However, it’s been the postseason where Gist has really made his mark and drawn attention from around the state. They say special players step up at special times, so how’s this: In four win-or-go-home games — three in the Section 5 Class AA tournament and then last weekend’s state qualifier — Gist has accumulated an additional 1,092 yards to go with those 18 touchdowns. That’s an average of 273 yards and over four scores per game.

Not even his two all-time favorite running backs — LaDainian Tomlinson and Marshall Faulk — can boast of four-game stretches like that.

  14. What is wrong with what he said? He is only speaking the truth, it is going to be rough for the Bills.

I don't understand how some people can find something wrong with what he said, then grasp at anything to make him sound bad. Bottom line is, he is one of the best players EVER in the NFL...and would have certainly been one of the ALL-TIME GREATS if he ever wore a Buffalo Bills uniform. Only thing is...he has way too much heart, passion and intensity to play for the Bills.

If he came to us now...he would INSTANTLY become the face of the franchise and our BEST player. Hands down.

*** Ray Lewis...I love how YOU play the game! :worthy:

  15. Alright Ive been watching Locker, Luck, Mallett, and at first I was all on the Luck bandwagon. After watching locker get wrecked by Nebraska I turned him off but still have been watching him these past couple of weeks. Lets face it Luck isnt coming out, our team isnt going anywhere for atleast 2 years. Locker is our future. His o line sucks and look at the way he steps up in the pocket, How his playaction is so effective because not only can he throw, but he has a sub 4.40 40. We take locker, develop a year under fitz and really show that this franchise can be something. If we get Mallett we will have a solid qb for a decade. If we get locker we could have a hall of famer who CAN play in cold weather. Especially after looking at how hes tearing up an excellent oregon state secondary.

    Hall of Famer? LOL!

Will he be inducted the same year as JP Losman's beard or Trent Edwards' hair? :wallbash:
