we have 19 drafted players on the roster+ the 6 or so we'll draft= 25. So roughly half our roster by next season should be of players we drafted.
I would assume that is league average.
Nothing to see here...
I didnt post any practice squad players but even with them i doubt its average.

I seem to remember when Nix took over it seemed we had a difficult time fielding 53 players.

2010 zero players still on the team.
2011 one player Dareus
2012 one player Glenn
2013 zero players still on the team
2014 Three players
2015 Three players
2016 Seven players
15 players in 7 years doesnt seem to be very effective. Hopefully this coaching staff will win and stay so we can stop losing our players to scheme changes. Is this the only reason this is ineffective?

Instead of the 2013 draft Im worried it will be more like the 2004 draft where we traded up for Losman and lost our shot at Aaron Rodgers the following year.

so what do we really need? if we keep tyrod and draft a qb early to train and take over after 2 years i think the only thing we will lose is the ability to sign higher priced free agents. the same with gilmore who i personally do not believe has played well enough to be paid top 5 money. this means we sign who we can and build thru the draft. i truly believe we are not so far off that we need to scrap the last 5 years and start over.

I suspect that the hiring of Hostler means we will not be taking a WR at 9, but rather working our young guys into a dynamic group. I further suspect that he will work with CJ to help turn him into a more Percy Harvin player and will devise ways of getting CJ the ball in open space allowing him to do his thing.

If we were looking for a system QB wouldnt we be looking a Nassib? I like Bray as a late round pick but his stats are below 60%...Glennon seems to have some bad mechanics so Im rooting for Wilson. The one thing ive learned over the 50 years ive been a fan is that this early in the process...I dont know crap.

If OL is rated at a 96 and isnt that much of a need and some other position such as OLB or WR is rated at 95 then I suspect Nix would pick position of need. BTW none of these qb's are rated above 86 that I have seen.

I didnt mean for this to become or sound like a gripe session. I believe that Whaley is very good at pro personel,and I love most of his draft picks I think he makes picks a year in advance of need hence Seymour and Listenbee are in place to help cover the lost of FAs like Gilmore and Woods.
