  1. Rookie money ( for high draft choices) has to go down and players need to honor their contracts or not sign them in the first place. Where else can somebody sign a contract, breach it with virtually no downside?

Rookie money should be fixed imo; 2 year contracts with salary based on overall draft position. Then teams 'own' the rights to the rookie to offer him the same deal he would get somewhere else if contract negotiations would be unresolved after the 2 years.

  2. It would do wonders for my rapid-rewards account, but I'd be in dept to my ears. Small price to pay, sure. But I think I'll give it a few more years!

Cut a deal with the creditcard company to repay them with rapid-rewards-points... B-)

  3. My game a year streak continues! Just bought tickets for the Niners game on 11/30!

    HAPPY DAY!

Gratz but how about setting yourself up for a season ticket streak a year?

Edit: I'm just being jealous since I would need to move to the States first in order to attend... B-)

  4. The points we do know:

    1. Peters has 3 years left on his contract

    2. Peters made the pro-bowl last year

    3. Peters was injured

    4. Peters didnot report for volunteer workouts

    5. Peters didnot report mandatory minicap

    6. Peters didnot report trainingcamp

    What we donot know:

    1. Why was the holdout started in the first place?

    2. Was the new contract request done before the start of the holdout (would make sense)?

    3. Did the Bills flatout deny him a new contract for this year firmly closing the door?

    4. How much contact has there been during his holdout?

From a Bills perspective it's clear you don't want to renegotiate a player who has had only one great year which he ended in injury, you want to see one more year of performance.

From Peters his perspective getting injured makes you think, what if it is career ending, where is my money then, im the best OL on the team yet I dont earn most.

I can understand both sides but feel the Bills side is most realistic allthough they could have worked out a restructured deal where his additional pay would be purely based on performance.

Interesting read here btw on Bills taking hard stance http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/story/420505.html.

  5. OK, I'm new to the board and a long time Bills fan. I am a huge fan of Jason Peter's accomplishments so I am not sure which one of you this is on the board but it is obvious that you are either Jason himself or Parker joining in on the dialog from your viewpoint.

I have a warning for you! Examine Bills history very closely before you continue your holdout this team WILL! put your career on ICE forever if you don't get your Butt in! There is no longer a USFL that you can run to.

I may be one of the few here who remembers how the Jim Kelly era began in Buffalo but Ralph didn't give in to him either and eventually he came crawling back because they owned his rights.

Parker is on the verge of ruining you man! You have greatness in you, don't listen to him unless you want to go play in Toronto full time now because the Bills own your rights!! The longer you fail to realize this the more painful it will be for you. Parker wants to cash in on you he doesn't care about your career he cares about his pocket.

We all know you deserve more but the Bills found you and gave you an early contract last time because the thought they were securing your future and theirs. See the big picture and not through Parkers rose colored glasseas. The Bills care about you Jason and they want you to reap the rewards of success together.

They will pay you but Ralph comes from a generation that does reward absenteeism. Get your Bleep in to Camp!!!!!!!

Welcome onboard, some interesting reading may be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paragraphs.

  6. We have a saying in Dutch that fits here really well, I'll do my best to translate it:

Gentle (soft, weak) Doctors create stinking wounds.

For those interest; here's the Dutch original (since I think my translation of it sucks).

    Zachte heelmeesters maken stinkende wonden.

Edit: I just realized the saying could apply both to the Bills camp and Peters camp... ow well. My personal opinion (don't know if it would have been possible at all) is that Peters should have reported from day 1 made his demands known and if no progress was made then and only then start a holdout, however I'm not even sure if that is possible if he allready reported say for the OTA's to start a holdout midcamp.

  7. AVP was in NFL Europe and at the same time as Hamdan? Really?

Aye, he was the QB coach (plus the offensive playcalling) with Frankfurt Galaxy whilst Hamdan was playing for the Amsterdam Admirals. NFL Europe was used to groom front office staff, refs, coaches as well as players. My assumption is that he played a part in the signing of Hamdan (prolly had good tape on him, plus Hamdan ownes about the NFL Europe recordbook).

  8. "Gibran does a great job, especially in preparation during the week," said quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt, who played against Hamdan when both were toiling in NFL Europe. "The biggest thing with Gibran is he needs game experience, and that's what we need to do in the preseason. We need to see a lot of him in the preseason."

We've seen a decent performance from Hamdan during pre-season and absolutly nothing from Baker, Hamdan was moving the team accross the field, did Baker even get a second first down? Time will tell, but I wouldn't count on the team cutting Hamdan.

  9. 5) I'm in the Hamden fan club. He'll overtake JP on the Depth chart

Welcome onboard, may the Chroise be with you.

Hamdan will not overtake JP on the DC for the simple reason that is called sports politics. Allthough it would be pretty sweet, let's see if Hamdan can get to his NFL Europe level during the remaining pre-season games and then JP needs to start worrying (as does Trent lol).

  10. Nope. NFLEurope seasons ended in late June. The roster was 80+NFLE exemptions; now it's just 80.

Jup, so NFL Europe players normally missed out the pre-season workouts but were in time for the trainingcamp. Many teams used the 'our pre-season workouts are essential' line to send nothing but camp fodder to NFL Europe (those players often didnt even get past NFL Europe draft let alone their camp). Teams that did take it seriously other then a roster exemption insurance often reaped great benefits from it to the extend of retraining players at a different position to gaining surprise pro-bowlers out of them or the negative that was finding out a player was not going to be going anywhere (*cough* Akili Smith).

  11. Convoluted explanation for what, exactly? My praise for his ability to sustain four-play drives that start in te Red Zone? He did fantastic in that regard, and I said so. Did I sound like a "hater" to you? :D

I'll tell you this; Hamdan looked rusty to me. Sure he was in control, had some rough starting positions and tough penatlies and drops (he tends to throw the ball extremly hard on checkdowns, seemed Justin Jenkins had trouble with that). But the Hamdan I know can do better then what we saw, that said this is how he looked in his first game in NFL Europe as well, from there on he started to produce big time. I think he really needs to throw that first TD on real NFL level for his confidence.

JP looked good to me, better then what I've seen from him tbh, his throws are dangerously high though.

Trent... well I know everyone has their opions ready but I dont think we've seen enough action by him to judge him at all, also he had 2 false start penalties by the OL which hurt his ability to sustain the drives.
