  1. If they cut David Nelson, they are sniffing glue. Nelson is a no brainer starting rotation player to me. Craig Davis?? Is that you Buddy? No way this guy makes the roster. If he does, it's Nix being a homer to a guy he drafted. He's got brick hands.
  2. This is one of the tougher decisions the Bills staff has to make. Unfortunately I don't think that we have loads of talent to pick from as Buddy stated when he cut Evans. And I'm not counting Brad Smith as a WR. But these are the guys that I would pick to make the team: - Stevie Johnson - Donald Jones - Roscoe Parrish - Marcus Easley - David Nelson And one of these 3 guys should make the team: - Kamar Aiken - Naaman Roosevelt - Ruvell Martin Tough decision there. Aiken and Martin have looked pretty good in the preseason and they've got decent size and speed. Both of which Roosevelt lacks. However Naaman has rapport with Fitz and the other receivers, and supposedly has reliable hands. It is possible that Roscoe Parrish becomes a surprise cut. He's been around for long enough to know what his potential is, he hasn't played a full 16 games since the 2007 season, and he's never had more than 400 reception yards. Obvious cuts to me: - Craig Davis - Felton Huggins Thoughts?
  3. After a long offseason with the lockout, likely not as much conditioning, and no practices under his belt with the team, I hope Kirk just sits and watches this weekend. To go out there and try and play would just be asking for an injury to happen. And this team can't afford to lose a player of this caliber right now. I'm totally pumped to see this guy out there, but honestly it can wait until opening day. Go Bills!
  4. I'm not sure that was a full apology. Sounds like he was still trying to save face a little there. Either way, I never trusted him to begin with so it doesn't matter. Just a moron trying to get some attention.
  5. Thanks, that's a great summary of the events that have occurred. Oddly, it is starting to feel more and more like this move is inevitable. Toronto will eventually get a team, and I can't see any other franchise outside of Buffalo being the one that gets selected. The pieces just fit a little too perfectly. Unfortunately for Bills fans, everyone has to sit and wait until Ralph Wilson passes away.
  6. I despise the fact that this thread got moved. It was a true Bills fan thread
  7. I do what I can for my fellow Bills fans
  8. The website does features on different cities. This time they had anyone from Buffalo send in pics of women from their city. It's possible that people might break the rules and send in photos of random hot women, but generally people are pretty honest. There's nothing to gain from lying about it. I think it represents the city pretty damn well!
  9. you must be getting old. There's a lot more excitement in there! Although I'm not gonna lie, those wings look really good...
  10. I thought this might be a good way to get everyone excited for this season. There are pictures of Bills games and Jills cheerleaders in this gallery of pictures, so this thread better stay in the football related category. And for what it's worth, it could be the best collection of pictures I've seen in a long time! You're welcome... http://thebrigade.thechive.com/2011/08/23/one-city-the-other-ny-city-women-of-buffalo-76-photos/
  11. Nice! I love that they're out there making moves. On one hand I kind of wish we grabbed Mckinnie at left tackle, but I hear the guy is a fat, lazy slob. Kirk Morrison at the very least provides great depth for us at linebacker. Great signing
  12. I agree that the O-line hasn't played well. Bell only got burned by Von Miller because he couldn't get a quick enough jump on him. You can help your lineman out by calling a hard count on speed rushers like Von Miller. That way they'll be hesitant to get off the line as quickly. That being said, we need to bring in at least one top quality O-lineman to this squad. They are sorely lacking talent. Thank you. Glad you see things the way I do. I knew I wasn't alone on this.
  13. That point should all become BS if you literally have no depth at a position. You can't simply not sign players if you have to move guys from other positions to fill a need. That's poor management.
  14. Via Schefter... @AdamSchefter The official language: The Oakland Raiders selected Terrelle Pryor, QB, Ohio State, in the 18th position of Round 3.
  15. It shouldn't matter if it's preseason or not. Does Fitz want to get drilled in the back by an unblocked Linebacker in any game?? I think not. Should he see that Nelson has a CB shaded to his outside with no safeties in the middle of the field in any situation? Yes, he should. Preseason or not, Fitzpatrick needs to work on this. You don't just simply walk up to the line of scrimmage and call the play, regardless of the coverage.
  16. I haven't noticed the awareness you're talking about. You'll have to give me some examples.
  17. Kirk Morrison, Lofa Tatupu, and Brandon Chillar are still sitting out there in free agency. I've seen all I need to see in Reggie Torbor. If we have a supposed lack of depth at this position, we need to get out there and sign one of these guys, and move Moats back to OLB. Let's do ourselves a favor for once.
  18. If this team's management didn't pull the trigger on a Tebow trade (for a reasonable price), I would be pretty upset. The guy is a gamer no matter how you look at it. I watched him win games last season, and he doesn't make many mistakes. That guy is exactly what this team needs. Trade for him, let Thigpen go, and let Tebow sit on the bench for half the season and learn this offense. If Fitz hasn't proven to be a starter by mid-season, then we give Tebow the ball.
  19. Awareness before the ball is snapped. This means a lot of things: - Is an OLB or CB cheating to blitz - Are your WR's uncovered or in a mismatch with a LB - Are the safeties cheating up giving your WR's the opportunity to get behind them - Should you use a hard count to draw speed rushers (ie: Von Miller) offsides, and not allow them to get a quick start every snap I have yet to see Fitzpatrick do many of these things. And this seems to have been a problem with every QB we've had here in Buffalo since Flutie and Bledsoe were taking snaps for us. It's just common football sense that you need to have to be a successful Quarterback. It's what made guys like Jim Kelly and Brett Favre great instead of just good. I don't know whether we're not coaching it here, or if our guys just don't have what it takes. But this is one of the BIG things that need to change in order for Fitzpatrick and this offense to be successful.
  20. If you think about it, he had to play behind Antonio Gates, Kevin Boss, and Jason Witten. So, I guess it was an uphill battle on each team he played on. It looks like Gailey's going to give him a chance. I'd love to see him step up!
  21. I think you're right on the money. Although tight end isn't one of the most important positions that I would be worried about, it would be nice to have some more sure fire talent out there at some other spots. We're really hoping that guys step up as starting NFL players, when they haven't proven to do so consistently in the past. Guys like Pears at right tackle, Urbik at right guard, and Wilson at safety. Then we've got some question marks with guys that have had previous injuries like Davis and Merriman at linebacker, and McGee at corner. I HOPE all of these guys step up. But that isn't good enough when we're facing the Pats, Jets, and Dolphins twice each every season.
  22. Height: 6'7" Weight: 270 lbs College: Iowa Stats: In his last college season had 591 yards receiving with 6 TDs. Ranked 2nd in his schools history with 117 receptions for 1,467 yards and 10 touchdowns. 2007 Draft: Selected in the 4th round by the San Diego Chargers. Check out his draft report from 2007. This guy has a lot more skill at tight end than anyone we've had on this roster in a while. He was the 4th ranked TE in his draft class (ranked ahead of Kevin Boss and Matt Spaeth, and just below Zach Miller and Greg Olsen), not unlike Shawne Nelson who was also the 4th ranked TE in his own draft class. Now he hasn't done anything as a pro, but it will be interesting to see if Chan can turn this guys career around. Between him and Nelson, I hope either one of these guys shows at least a little bit of the potential they flashed coming out of college.
  23. Don't forget about Nick Barnett and Kirk Morrison. Both good inside options also. Plenty of talent still out there.
  24. Good on us. Just saw via Twitter... http://twitter.com/DraytonFlorence "It's official I'm back buffalo see ya at fisher!!!!"
