You're missing the point of what I'm saying. If he DOES pan out at safety, and he ends up being the answer to a serious need for us... he would be worth whatever he costs. And I don't think it would be huge money. You don't let go of your best players, especially the one's that are team first, no complaints type of guys. Jason Peters is the exception. Loads of talent, but he's the opposite of McGee in character.

Regarding McGee moving to safety. Yes, he can do it. He played the position in college. He could step up like Whitner did in nickel situations and be better at it. Good athletes can play many positions. McGee also played some wide receiver in college, and was an all district running back in high school. He can play FS, and he would be good. Although I don't have evidence that says it is the case, I agree with you. The fact that we regressed as the season went on instead of progressed was disturbing. And the fact that Hardy was having a hard time figuring out the offense, and particularly where to line up was also disturbing. It seems to me that you should make it simple for younger players especially when designing game plans. You could run an entire game out of one or two formations, and still be successful. You need to mix up where the ball goes, the patterns receivers run, and the gaps you run the RBs. Look at the double wing offense, or the spread option offense. Same formation, but very difficult to stop. (yes I know it's college football, but the concept is what matters) We can't overthink ourselves. I hope Turk and Dick prove me wrong this season, but my hope is at an all time low.

Please don't lump Lynch and Evans into the same category as Peters. They are both great players and care a lot about this team. I would never consider trading them. Peters, on the other hand, is dead to me. Yes, trading Peters away for someone like McNabb would make me excited. And no, I don't think we have the players in place yet to get to the playoffs. Our o-line needs a C, and maybe a guard. Our defense is lacking beef on the front line. We need an outside LB, and we are weak at FS. And I don't even want to talk about our coaches. I love this team, and watching Lynch, Evans, Jackson, Stroud, Williams, Poz, Mitchell, McGee, and McKelvin is exciting. LOTS of potential there. But we need some help. This better be a big offseason. And we don't need guys like Peters blowing for everyone else again this year.

Oh yes, definitely a disaster. I would HATE to bring in a QB who has been to the pro bowl 5 times, played in 5 NFC championships and 1 superbowl, one time offensive player of the year, and sure fire hall of famer. Lets draft some guys that have a high potential of doing so. We're one of the youngest teams in the league. If anything we should TRADE AWAY some draft picks for veterans.

You know what's sad? I actually kind of agree with them. Although I despise Boston fans of any kind, the Pats were the only team in the AFC that could have stopped the Steelers this year had Brady not gone down. They have destroyed many good teams hopes of a Superbowl win in the past 10 years. That includes the Steelers in 2004 when they went 15-1 in Roethlisberger's first year as QB. As well as Peyton Manning's Colts several times. We need to get much better in the offseason to compete in this division.

Yeah, the Pats get a lot of credit for their drafts in past years, but I would agree that they have been terrible since 2005. the only players that have worked out are Mayo, Merriweather, and Gostowski. We'll see in about 5 years what this guy brings to the table in KC.

I'm a bigger fan of getting the best player we can get. Everette Brown is the 2nd best DE and maybe even better than Orakpo. I would grab him in the 1st and trade up for Mack if we can. We don't need anymore late round picks. This team is young enough, and we don't have time to develop more players. If we have any late round picks, we should try and grab o-lineman and d-tackles.

I would take the last 10 years of Indy football any day over the last 10 years of Buffalo football. I'm pretty sure I didn't say anything about Polian being a "God". He is simply a very good GM, and I don't think that is just me that thinks so. Pessimism runs rampant among Bills fans.

I think this offense would be ridiculous with The Beast and Freddy "Action" Jackson slicing through the line, Mac n' Cheese (Maclin and Evans), "Spiderman" Hardy and Smooth Stevie Johnson dicing up secondaries, D-Fine and Rucker as tight ends, and Trent "Too Easy" Edwards chuckin the rock. Yeah, I'm still hoping that Schobel comes back with a vengence next season trying to prove something. With us drafting a 1st round DE, that should provide some fuel for the fire. But that's just my blind Buffalo faith speaking...

If you look at this roster, we really don't have a ton of game changing players like the Giants, Steelers, Ravens, Patriots, Titans, and others do. The Cowboys aren't as talented as they appear to be. They get lots of hype from the media, and a lot of it is unwarranted. They have terrible safeties, an overrated d-line, and a turnover prone QB. While you're definitely right about the coach being a huge difference maker... we don't have that option right now. So we might as well get ourselves some players.

I kind of thought people would react that way. I even didn't think it would be a good idea until I thought about it more. We need a playmaker added to this offense badly. A speedy game changing type. Maclin could be VERY good. AND we can't go out and get an expensive WR in free agency. We're already paying Evans a lot. PLUS, with the second 1st round pick, we get the DE we need and then our Center in round 2.

I actually only waited until the 20th pick of the 1st round to draft a DE. There is no clear cut 2nd best DE in this draft after Orakpo, and I think there will still be great options on the board.

Remember Polian drafted Reggie Wayne to go along with Marvin Harrison. Jeremy Maclin is potentially a Reggie Wayne type of player. With an offense that is in desperate need of playmakers, we take this guy. Especially if we have another 1st round pick to take a Defensive end. Free agents are too expensive if you want a big play WR. Guys like TJ Housh will never end up here when we're paying big money for Evans.

That's why we would draft Everette Brown/Greg Hardy, as I mentioned. Take a closer look at the lineup and you'll see that 3 playmakers were added to the defense (Atogwe, Crowell, and Brown), and 2 playmakers added to the offense (Maclin, Rucker). The o-line and d-line are solidified, the backup QB is set, and the FB position is finally filled with a quality blocker. I like it a lot.

Assuming he couldn't do anything with the coaches: Free Agency: Angelo Crowell - Why? Because he is a known quantity, he's a great tackler, he has a nose for the football, he knows our players and our scheme, and he will come cheaper than most linebackers in free agency. He tends to have contain issues at times, but this is a HUGE upgrade over ellison. Oshiomogho Atogwe – Great free agent grab here fortifies our secondary alongside Whitner. Trades: Jason Peters and Roscoe Parrish to Lions for #20 pick, 3rd round pick, and Jon Kitna - I know this is getting old talking about this, but don't let it get old. Peters sabotaged the team last season by holding out, has a terrible attitude ("Getting to Hawaii is why we play the game"), and he can get us a great trade in return. We move Walker to LT and Chambers to right tackle. Plus we have Demetrius Bell who showed great promise last season. Parrish hasn’t been utilized enough here to merit his contract. Kitna could be an excellent backup for Trent going forward, and could step in and play well if Trent went down. Sign and trade Jabari Greer to Browns for Martin Rucker and 3rd round pick – I know Greer showed lots of promise for us last season, but TE is one of our biggest needs. McKelvin can step in now in his spot, and Corner and Youboty will be there as well. Rucker was injured early last season, but has a ton of upside. He is the one dimensional pass catching TE we need with Fine being our solid all around guy. Draft: Round 1 (1st pick) – Jeremy Maclin WR - I know some won't like this pick, but this guy would be a real threat opposite Lee Evans. This guy is loaded with talent, AND could return punts in place of Roscoe. Round 1 (2nd pick) – Everette Brown/Greg Hardy/Tyson Jackson (Best DE available) - Develop our DE of the future and get him in the rotation to make a difference right away. Round 2 - Alex Mack/Max Unger/Jonathan Luigs (Best C available) - Center will fortify this o-line. Round 3 (1st pick) – Alex Magee DT - More help in the rotation for Williams, Stroud, and Johnson. Round 3 (2nd pick) – Trevor Canfield/Craig Urbik (Best OG available) - depth at OG that we need. Round 4 – Chase Daniel QB - late value pick and potential future QB should anything happen to Trent.
