And they became the Super Bowl Rams by identifying the problem and making the right move to fix it. They then augmented that move with other moves to bring in players at positions of need midseason.
The Bills don't have enough speed in the back end. Waiting to see how that's addressed because we were all clamoring for Levi Wallace to be replaced last year and he wasn't. Now we have White coming off an ACL and the DBS are still too slow as a group.
They don't get after the QB well enough and they've drafted three DEs in the last two years who don't consistently rush the quarterback. Now you subtract Hughes from that mix and they still need to be significantly better in that area.
They've replaced Butler and Phillips with two different guys. Better? I don't know. Saffold at LG, better at age 34? I'm not sure. Line depth took a hit with Williams gone though because he's not there to step out to RT in a pinch now. Tommy Doyle needs to be the swing tackle this year which is moderately scary.
So far they are different. I'm not sure if they are better. I'll say again, last year they didn't get better. Their deficiencies were the same as the year before. Run defense in general, CB2, pass rush, interior line play and RB.
I mean it’s been 12 hours into the offseason. Sheesh. -

The cap situation is a self-made issue. As others have said, notably @BADOLBILZ they've inked some guys who were vastly overpaid and now that's impacting the cap. OBD has no one to blame but themselves.
My point remains: prioritizing their first contracts on guys who'll play less than 50% of the snaps is bizarre...provided those contracts are not classic Beane/McCoach overpaying at positions of less importance (DT, LB).
What team is immune from making some bad signings? The Super Bowl Rams screwed up with Goff. It happens.- 2

I heard he brings his lunch pail every day. I like him and he was much more productive than Gray. It depends where he goes but I can certainly see him being a productive number 2 type pass rusher.

Pete Schrager who is the Sr. NFL analyst for Fox Sports predicted TT would start and said that he has been all of the buzz out of Bills camp. He is the same guy that predicted the Cowboys to win 10 games last year when most had them at 6 or less.
Strange thing to remember....

well, as they can physically speak, they are able. Whether they are supposed to, or anyone is willing is a whole different beast. Your telling me if Sean Payton gave a ring over to the right detective (or les miles who surely has some locals in his rolodex)that it would be IMPOSSIBLE that they get an answer? Heck, the saints have probably employed some BRPD as security details through the years. id be more surprised by a full and effective stonewalling than by someone talking that shouldnt.
if he slips out of today, i would be surprised and think it is a bad sign for him in the investigation -- but again, who knows? certainly not us.
I really don't get this mentailty... What makes you think the BRPD would take a moment out of their investigation to speak with an NFL team? A young woman was murdered, that's their priority - not assuaging the fears of an NFL GM because he's wondering if Collins is a value pick in a 5th round. Come on.
-
I like Fisher too, but from what I've read and seen, his style of play doesn't really match what I think the Bills are moving towards with their OL. There seem to be better fits. Just my two cents.
-
he is not a suspect. this is a ridiculous thread.
He's not a suspect, but he's left the draft to speak with police in person. It's not a good thing, either.
-
even if police dont clear him, his people can give all the info to the teams. it would shock me if he DROPPED, though a team might choose another guy if its a coin flip already
Hernandez had an alibi too... I'm not aying Collins had anything to do with this. I'm just saying in the post Hernandez-Rice-Peterson world we live in, I belive teams will exercise more caution. This is just unfortunate timing for Collins (again, if he's innocent).
-
His attorney can make any claims he wants about Collins' whereabouts, but if the authorities don't formally clear him of any involvement prior to the draft, I could see him not only falling to 50... but going undrafted. What team is going spend a draft pick on him if there's a chance he could be arrested for this in the near future? I'm not saying that because of wasting a pick, I'm talking about the publicity.
Collins is actually one of my favorite prospects... Either he gets picked where he was going to get picked, or he goes in between. There is no middle ground here.

I have a gut feeling that the Bills will make a spash in free agency and sign DeMarco Murray. I'm not saying this the right move (tossing loads of cash at RB seems counter to the league's direction), but he seems like the perfect guy for Rex to hitch his wagon to.
This move is obviously predicated on him actually seeing free agency (which I think is probable) and CJ Spiller not opting in (which I think is also probable).

LMAO too old. He is 57! Pete Carroll is 63, Marv Levy was 61 when he came. Even the other SB coach John Fox is 69. LOTS and LOTS of good coaches this age.
I just have to point out that you aren't remotely close on Fox's age. He's 59.

Trade him for "two dominant offensive lineman"? Has that ever happened in the history of the NFL?

Dumb Thread!
Oh get a grip
-
...opens any links or files that have been provided to him for the Jets game? There's just no way, right?

I am not trolling... I seriously think that JBJ becoming public enemy #1 (whethe it was warranted or not) created a fervor that really brought a lot of attention to our situation. And maybe some outside investors that considered buying the team saw what was going on and decided to back off, not wishing to get into a public battle with a community.
It's easy to just hate on the guy, but I don't think he was ever really a viable candidate in the first place. In hindsight, he probably went after the wrong franchise at the wrong time.

Nothing is set in stone, but it clearly looks like the Toronto group is against the ropes. How about we actually give a little gratitude to Bon Jovi for a change?
We will never know his true intentions; maybe he desperately wanted the team in Toronto, or maybe he had no intentions of moving them and just wanted to own a team. But Bon Jovi - deservedly or not - became a rallying cry for Bills fans across the world. If he hadn't partnered up with the Toronto group, who knows, maybe they would've flown under the radar. I honestly think his inovlement in the process unexpectedly became a catylst for the team staying here.

So for all the naysayers, if the team is sold to someone that keeps the team in Buffalo, what's going to happen to you? Will you go away? Complain about the new owners? We already hear enough complaining about real things; now we have to listen to complaining about hypotheticals?

Mr. Wilson would spend money. Unfortunately, he spent it in the wrong places. Not about money so much. It's about who is making the decision on who it is spent on. Execs, coaches and players included.

There is so much incorrect information in the original post that it doesn't really warrant a conversation.

The bottom line here is that the lease was up, Ralph was 94 (at the time), and the Bills essentially had the state and county by the balls. They didn't HAVE to do stadium improvements. They could've funded cheap updates themselves and maintained flexibility for an inevitable future sale.
Ralph did right by us, no doubt about it.

Let him earn it. We've shown players that if they earn it they will get it.
Like Byrd? I couldn't resist, haha

If I were him, I'd be very wary of my own arrogance and ask myself if this team gives me the best chance to succeed, or if the best were yet to come in Buffalo. If it's the latter, he could be passing up a chance to enter next offseason in the driver's seat. If they fail with a great defense, he's got just as good of a shot, because it'll be even clearer that what successes the Bills had were in large part due to Pettine's contributions.
Are you trolling? Screw arrogance. He would get a contract worth over $10 million guaranteed. He'd be arrogant to NOT take the job.

in order of importance:
#1- FRANCHISE QB (if peyton manning was our QB we would have 5 more wins , EJ will never be a franchise QB)
You say that as if these Franchise QBs grow on trees. There are probably less than 12 in the whole league, meaning nearly 66% are always on the hunt.

They’re the betting odds favorites to win the SB before making any moves. That’s generally indicative of a very good team, taking into consideration the landscape of the entire league. Do they have room for improvement? Of course. But let’s have some perspective here.
