  1. Nice breakdown. To be honest, the one I see most likely is the Bears at 14.

Both the Broncos (12) and Panthers (13) are looking at OTs. That puts us in a nice position, ESPECIALLY if only Jake Long goes in the top ten. If somehow Clady is there for us at 11, you know he won't get past Denver. So maybe the Bears will trade up. Or even the Panthers leapfrog Denver if they like someone. Maybe even Houston.

This is something I had not realized until now. I'm excited.

  2. I'd been pretty happy with Crumpler for 2 years... Heard an interview with Bryant Johnson and he said that he and his agent offered the Bills the same 1 year deal that he signed there. That wouldn't of been so bad. I would have offered fitzgerald money to Moss. Would have loved to sign trent Green for 3 years. DJ Hackett remains out there. I'd offer him a 2 year 7 million to be our backup to Lee and whoever they draft. Lorenzo Neal and Tony Richardson were both available, I love to have Neal who hasn't signed anywhere yet.

OK, I don't want to rain on your parade, but I can take issue with each of those suggested moves:

    - Crumpler has serious knee issues. The Bills probably found it safer to go with a rookie in the draft than pickup someone that's 30 with degenerative knees.

    - The Bills said they will not sign Johnson to a one year deal because they'd be in the same scenario addressing the situation again next year. I think it takes a very disciplined team to do that.

    - Sure, Moss would be worth Fitzgerald money. But come on, would he ever work here? No way.

    - Trent Green for three years? In the last two seasons he's played, he's been knocked out of the year. He probably shouldn't be playing any more. And if you sign him, then whatever value Losman may have had goes out the window. I'm not saying that's not worth signing another backup, but not Green.

    - Hackett is more of a slot guy. If we sign him to that short-term deal, what do you do with Reed? And what do you do with our other flanked out receiver spot?

    - Tony Richardson 36. Lorenzo Neal 37.

  3. Now that draft day is quickly approaching (6 weeks tomorrow) I've seen numerous guides available on newsstands.

I purchased Sporting News and must say it's downright terrible. The rankings are askew, demonstrated by their ranking Jake Long and Vernon Gholston as second round talent. To me it appears they've banked on name recognition alone or just did poor research and stopped altogether after about November.

Pro Football Weekly's isn't bad and had some of the recent rising prospects.

Anyone else have any notes on which guides they prefer? I'd heard ESPN isn't putting on out this year.

Yeah, the Sporting News one is downright laughable. Some of the notable highlights:

    - Their mock draft has Vernon Gholston going 33rd overall to the Rams in the second round

    - Also in the mock Aquid Talib lasts until mid-third round

    - They rate Limas Sweed as the ninth best WR

    - According to them, Trevor Laws is a seventh round prospect

  4. Totally disagree. I am here in Atlanta and trading for him would be like trading for T.O. This is a player I am not interested in having on my favorite team. More than that, he would create lockerroom strife within a year. It won't be noticed on the Raiders because the inmates are running the asylum over there anyway, but no way should he have been a Bill for any price

Agreed. I'm really not sure if Hall would have been willing to become a Bill, but he certainly would not have been wanted by the Bills.

  5. Give the guy credit for letting his opinions evolve. It's better than sticking to stupid guns.

I agree with that to a certain extent. Mayock watches film of these guys all year. Just because he ran two tenths of a second slower at the combin than expected, he falls from first overall to at best (in Mayock's opinion) sixth? I'm not exactly sure what that says about Mayock.
