  1. How about, besides all the other crap, he's on the wrong side of 30 and it's obvious this front office has been focusing on adding and building through youth. So, besides your suggestion being silly it's not even realistic considering the present real world operation of One Bills Drive.

That enough? Now, go grab yourself a rake...

Stop with the age stuff. The guy JUST turned 30 in January, and there have been a ton of WRs in this league, ie Harrison, Holt, Owens, etc. who have had some of their best years statistically at 30+ years of age. The contract may be the only problem I see with bringing Johnson in, not age or production.

  2. For those here who just love to be comedians here and come up with the fancy one liners, care to offer any reasons why the Bills offense would not greatly benefit from adding a guy who can provide instant production, or should we just hold on to these coveted 2nd and 3rd round draft picks and hope for the best, watch another 7-9 season and complain next year again???

I can't come up with anything. From almost all accounts CJ is actually a really good teammate. Sure he is a showboat and wants the ball, but how many wideouts in this day and age can you name that aren't like that to some degree? Only a handful.

  3. 1.) Home Opener

2.) San Diego game after the BYE

3.) Monday night game vs Cleveland

And, duh, Bills must win all the 'easy" games - Oakland, Rams, Cardinals, Miami X 2, San Francisco, at least one Jets game

The rest is gravy (Jacksonville, Cheatriots X 2, Denver, at KC, one Jets game)

Dear God - I pray they finally come out of the box strong. Win the first game!!!

Those three games were my thoughts. I'm really glad we are going to be playing San Diego coming off our bye and right before they travel straight to London...I think that can't be anything but an advantage for us.

  4. I still like my plan

Deal down with Philly to 19 and add Sheppard. Take the best CB on the board at 19 unless some other players has dropped significantly. Go WR in round 2. Move back up if necessary. Rd 3 and after go best available.

Nets you 2 CBs and the WR you want. Our defense goes from sketchy to good overnight and we still get the tall WR we want with more picks to add TE, FB, OLB, etc. later on.

I love the plan to get Sheppard, but I don't see why we wouldn't take a guy like Sweed or Thomas at #19 instead of a corner since we would have just picked up an elite one IMO. If that deal ever happens, take Sweed or Thomas at 19, then a tight end like Davis or Keller in the 2nd round.

  5. And in 2004, the Bills traveled to Oakland, Seattle, and San Fran, while the Pats got Seattle and San Fran at home (with their longest trips to Arizona and St. Louis). Notice a trend here?

    Their turn. Too bad.

Exactly. The home/away schedules for every team are developed years in advance, it has nothing to do with anyone "picking" on the poor Patsies. Even though I would be all in favor of that. :P

  6. I highly doubt we will be taking a DE in round one. The pick will be either O line, WR or CB. DE would be a bit of a luxery pick IMO

I see your point, but IMO an O-line pick would be a bit of a luxury pick as well....Or maybe I'm just too much of a Brad Butler fan...

  7. And Keepthefaith, why continue to waste your time posting on boards like this if your true faith level is basically the polar opposite of what your name stands for? I never understood this, and I'm not singling you out as the only one who does it. There is at least a handful of people on this board that insist on being negative about the Bills, almost irregardless of the topic. What is the point of spewing that type of negativity? Just to be proved right more years than not at the end of the season? It seems pretty pointless to me. The off-season in any sport is always about NEW HOPE, and if you don't have any before this season, after our very good group of young players on both sides of the ball have had more time to develop, key guys are coming back from missed time last year, a couple big time defensive players should have an immediate impact, and we hold a ton of picks in the draft in a couple weeks, I don't know when you will ever have any hope.

  8. I'm not going to call any game an "easy" win before any season. There do seem to be a good amount of games that if the Bills have a good draft should be able to win on paper. That being said, I still think 10-6 or even 11-5 is not out of the question. The last few years I would predict around a .500 record, give or take a game. IMO it is more likely that they finish 10-6 or 11-5 this year rather than an 8-8, 7-9, 6-10 type year. For me at least, its starting to feel like anything other than a playoff berth is a pretty major dissapointment this year.

  9. They still have the least amount of talent in the league. When they were 16-16 they had good RBs, decent WRs, a good TE, good LBs, a fierce pass rush, and some solid secondary men. Ronnie Brown is pretty darn good but he is banged up a lot. They signed several decent players but no studs and again do not have one solid unit across the board. Every single one is clearly suspect with the possible exception of RB. QBing is atrocious. Parcells can only do so much, and he isn't even coaching. IMO he's more in danger of resembling Al Davis looking over people's shoulders than upgrading the team by having Bill Parcells around since he is not going to be the coach and the prime motivator on a day to day and game to game basis. They will be doing good if they win 6 games, IMO.

I agree wholeheartedly. I hear more than a few people around here talking up Miami this year because Parcells is in town. Gimme a break. He was in Dallas for how many years and "led" them to how many playoff victories???? NONE. Not one. With triple the talent Miami has on their roster. Stop it.

  10. For god sake, you have to get WECK streaming online asap!! Anything so we don't have to listen to the afternoon nimrods on WGR. Brad, does management tell Bulldog to find something to be outraged over every day? I mean he was bleeding from his ears over the Dolphins in Toronto. There must be some consultant, probably from Boston, that tells them to poke the audience with sticks deliberately.

    C'mon man...get online!!

    PTR

Very well said. I used to be able to stand Bulldog, but not so much anymore...Lets not even get into his partner and what a piece of work he is.

  11. Start season on the road in Jacksonville

Toronto game is Monday Nighter against the fins

We have 4 home games with a late kickoff.....(4:15 or 8:00-30)

    Home Opener against 49ers...

    Go Bills!

Did they not already say that we were playing the Seahawks in Toronto or am I mistaken?

    Well, anyways:

Season Opener home against the Jets. :wallbash:

Home Monday Night game against the Chargers. :P

Thanksgiving Night game home against the Browns. ;)

At the Patriots the week after they have their bye. :wallbash:

  12. I think Buck is okay, not great. But Gumbel was hands down the worst. You couldn't get worse.

Touche. I had to remind myself that I was actually watching a football game half the time Gumbel was on...As far as Task goes, I think he's average, but he's also pretty new to the business so I have to give him the benefit of the doubt. His partner Gus Johnson is by far one of my favorite play by play guys though, no matter what sport it is. Gotta love his call when Roscoe took that punt to the house against the Broncos last year. Roscoe...With the seam...BANG, LIGHTS OUT! Roscoe Parrish! NO FLAGS.

  13. I like Martellus Bennett and Kellen Davis the best for the Bills. I am hoping we can get one of those two in the third round. My tentative first 3 round guess is-

    1-Devin Thomas

    2-Pat Sims

    3-Kellen Davis

Dustin Keller is very solid too. I would be ok with that

I would be very happy with that if u substitute a corner such as Cason, Flowers or Terrell Thomas for Sims...I think CB is a bigger need at this point than DT.

  14. How does asking what statistical expectations you have for trent edwards have anything to do with JP Losman? Its a simplequestion that requires a relatively simple answer.

Just because it requires a simple answer in your mind doesn't mean that when some people want to expand on the topic to include the "other" quarterback it's ludicrous. Have more of an open mind, some people think Losman sucks and maybe they're right. Others may think Edwards sucks and maybe they're right. Neither guys has proved anything yet IMO so don't just discount people's views on either guy.

  15. Cut it with the losman sh--. this thread is about edwards. no one wants you polluting a good thread with your crap. Dont you have DBs or the 06 to draft to B word about? its been almost 2 whole hours since you've done so.

Even if you have a hard on for Edwards, threads about him or Losman will almost always be connected with the other guy not in the subject area. The fact is that a decent amount of Bills fans still favor Losman, so quit whining everytime his name comes up until Edwards leads us to the playoffs.
