  1. I am surprised that Dec 1, 1974 vs. Cots at Rich is not on the list. My first Bills game – a 6-0 win with sub-zero temperatures (I am pretty sure). I was 7, and my uncle taught me that, when it is cold, you are better off eating the peanuts with the shells on! I am 54 now. Life long Bills fan. I was at many of the games on the list. Great memories. Life long memories. For those who don’t have tickets for Saturday – get them! Sure, it would be more pleasant watching the game in your living room – but have some Buffalo pride! I will be there – telling any cheater fan coming down my aisle that it is shorter to get to their seat from the other side. Go Bills!!!!
  2. As a long time Bills fan, I believe that the best quote (& story) in Bills history is: "I got what I deserved." - by kicker Booth Lusteg Lusteg missed a 23-yard field goal to win a game vs. San Diego at War Memorial in the early 60s. When he left the stadium, he was jumped by a bunch of Bills fans, who harassed him and threw a few punches at him. When asked why he didn't try to retaliate, or even take down their license plate number, Lusteg gave his quote: "I got what I deserved."
  3. Well, I was one of the 157,000 fans at the game. Regarding the failure to sell the game out, you have to remember that the Bills played Houston on Sunday night of the last week of the regular season. If they had won, they would be the #1 seed with a bye during the WC weekend. Of course, Kelly got hurt, and the Bills lost. The comeback game was on the Saturday of the same week (if I recall correctly), and the Bills ticket office was closed part of the week due to New Year's. At that time, most of the sales were by paper tickets at counters, and it was virtually impossible for the team to sell the number of tickets that they had in the 2-3 days between the Sunday night game and the blackout deadline. I must admit that I am going off of memory here, and I may be off on some of the points (what can I say - I am old & it is late!). But, I am pretty sure that it was virtually impossible for the Bills to sell tickets fast enough to beat the blackout deadline.
