  1. Correction. Anyone who thinks there's truth to the blanket assertion that "Minorities have so many more opportunities than others" is automatically white trailer trash. :)

wrap your mind around this...ever think that the term "white trash" can be insulting to people who aren't white? sort of infers that there's white people, then there's white people who don't make the cut and such, join the rest of the mongrels of the world.

not to mention the assumption that someone living in a mobile home is by default a hateful ignorant racist. so there's that bit of stereotyping going on as well.

anyway, playing the race card on Tiger vs Favre is as clumsy a deal as Marshawn for a 4th rounder.

  2. I just love all the posts from people touting their new teams after they decide to stop supporting the Bills. It's like the ex-girlfriend who keeps showing up with her new boyfriend at your old haunts and wants a reaction.

    Nobody cares.

All the best to you. The herd is better for having been thinned of your bandwagonness. Make a nice little hat out of a block of Velveeta and enjoy being a faux-cheesehead.

    Buh

    Bye.

  3. I will guarantee that each one of our putrid 3 QBs will hold the starting job at different points in the season, so we can all split hairs and dissect all the fine points of each of their weak performances and present our analysis as to who deserves the starting job by virtue of stinking the least.

This is a debate not worth having until we actually have QBs worth arguing about.

  4. Young...hard worker...speed...

Sounds like he'd make a solid special teams player. Even with a fair degree of latitude given for his age, not an impressive showing as a pass rusher or run stopper when he's been on the field, even in preseason against other teams' marginal talent. Personally, I don't see the exponential improvement happening that he'd need to be worth a #1 pick, or necessarily even a starter on a good defense.

    Hope I'm wrong.

  5. Interesting selection....How about looking at how Campbell handled the jauggernaut defenses of the Lions, Chiefs, Panthers, or the Rams all losses to previous winless teams except the Rams, a game where he or the skins could not find the endzone. The Redskins could not find the endzone against the Rams, Chiefs, Giants and Cowboys twice . The Redskins clearly had the easiest schedule in the league and Campbell led his team to a 4-12.

For example, in the Rams' game, there were 2 dropped passes in the endzone (devin thomas and mike sellers) and at the end of the game, the useless clinton portis was stuffed at the 1 yd line. what could have been a great statistical game for Campbell was bungled by the Skins general ineptitude.

Against the Lions, it was 100% time of possession. Skins D was beat by Stafford and Kevin Smith ran for 100yds. Zorn also went with Portis on a goalline 4th and 1 and whiffed. The Lions went 99yds for a score

I watched the skins a lot last year...Campbell was not their problem.

  6. I think we all agree about TE as well. Campbell is not an upgrade. Campbell is another flavor of bad quarterbacking that the Bills will drag their feet and take two years to remove once they realize he sucks. I would rather go for the unknown and draft a QB. I would also make the move on Troy Smith for a low round pick. Then decide between TE or RF on who would hold the clipboard for the first string clipboard holder.

Campbell ain't Joe Montana, but he's a HUGE upgrade over what we have in camp. I've seen him play a lot over the past few years here in DC and they changed up the system constantly. He took the heat for the Joe Gibbs' debacle of a return and let's face it, if there was any team that made the Bills' coaching situation look stable by comparison, it was the Jim Zorn fiasco. And once that stabilized a bit last year, Campbell did well despite having no real #1 WR, a crappy running game, and Cooley on IR.

And he can handle intense media scrutiny...he's been one of the few class acts in the 3 ring circus at Fedex field, despite D-bags like clinton portis taking shots at him. Not a cut and dried decision to trade a 4th rounder for Campbell, and it would still make sense to look for a QB in the draft, but I certainly don't get all the Brohm love on this board. He was a #3 QB, then a practice squad QB who was waived. We all know TE's limitations. Fitz is nothing more than a #2 QB. Campbell is a starting NFL QB.

  7. If we might need some veteran experience & someone to help as far as teaching our young QB contingent, that could be a viable starter as well as a good back up with a winning history in his career . I have often wondered what some Bills fans might think about signing a Jeff Garcia ??? He was a winner in the CFL & has been a winner in the NFL . He has adaptability , has played in the elements , & as far as i know wouldn't command a huge contract & would probably be a good leader in the locker room . So what do you think ??

Opposed mostly due to the unneccessary use of the indefinite article. What exactly is "a Jeff Garcia?" If you mean sign the former Eagle/Niner/Raider named Jeff Garcia, we don't need him and he'd derive no benefit from playing for this team. If you mean "a Jeff Garcia" as a category of player, i.e., a washed up QB who's been out of the league and hasn't shown any particular desire to be a mentor, then the Bills should pass on that too.

  8. Bob, you are right. Standard Deviation is a descriptive statistic. However, descriptive statistics also often serve a role in evaluation within inferential statistics. Forgive my semantics. If semantics is your only point of fault, then you win. If semantics is your hang-up for not providing an intelligent response, then I'm sorry that was your hang-up.

    Mountain or mole hill, Bob?

it's hard to do descriptive statistics in the NFL
