  1. This transgression should not be forgiven without pennance...confession is only the first step. As pennance, you shall listen to the Bills Shout Song 100 times in succession and have Flutie Flakes for breakfast every day for two weeks. Then watch a replay of the 11th pick in the 2009 NFL draft 100 times and then go back and read every Losman vs. Edwards thread archived on this site.

  2. Funny point, Kelly. I actually heard a bit of Cowherd while on my JetBlue flight home yesterday (great airline, by the way). His whole argument with respect to the Bills is essentially, "how can they be a talented team when their three best players are two 7th rounders and an undrafted free agent?"

It really is pretty ridiculous. I mean, wasn't Brady a 6th rounder? I wish the co-host had pointed that out. :)

His logic is always flexible, fleeting, and self-serving. Today he said "sorry, Bills, you get no respect you haven't beaten the Pats the last 15 games." Not sure how games from 2004 have bearing on today. Also said "sorry, Bills, the Chargers are in the top 10 because they have a HOF QB." So I guess we should start working on Jason Campbell's bust for Canton? And of course, the obligatory "the Bills won that game because of some lucky breaks." Gotta throw that in the mix when you're trying to downgrade a team.

I always intend to brush off what these idiots say about the Bills when it seems more disrespectful than objective. Yet it still sticks in my craw. The big picture, I guess, is that I want information and analysis on a team and sport I love. I'm fine with opinions that are not flattering about the franchise when they're based on credible analysis. I don't like people muddying the water with misinformation based on their agenda...probably why I loathe most pundits in the political arena as well.

  3. Rodney is an A-hole. Aren't analyists supposed to be neutral? He is totally biased toward his beloved Patriots.

I can't wait to hear what Michael Irvin says this week - remember last week he said the Bills will be "nothing but garbage" by the end of the season. They can both go F-off.

just saw Irvin (the Pleamaker) on NFL Gameday Final. When asked if the Bills are the best team in the AFC East, i think he said no, but all that came through my speakers was a bunch of jibberish from both Irvin and Deion. I think it was something to the effect of "slow your roll." The only thing that's garbage is their attempt at English....

but then again, who cares. i am on cloud freakin' nine.

  4. The Pats should be favored given their Coach, QB, recent Win-Loss record overall and against the Bills. But as I wrote earlier, many expect a track meet. Here are a couple typical predictions from PFT:

    Patriots at Bills

Florio’s take: The Patriots have beaten the Bills 15 straight times. New England coach Bill Belichick said that the guys who won most of those games will be watching the latest installment of the rivalry on TV. But not Tom Brady. One of the greatest quarterbacks of all time is playing like a guy who thinks he can retire someday as the consensus greatest of all time.

    Florio’s pick: Patriots 35, Bills 27.

Rosenthal’s take: Raiders-Bills last week felt like an old AFL shootout. Patriots-Bills should be more of the same, except the old AFL Patriots weren’t very good. This New England group, even without Aaron Hernandez, can win shootouts with anyone.

    Rosenthal’s pick: Patriots 38, Bills 31.

that's pretty much the safe pick every writer is leaning towards...for all the reasons described in this thread, if you're a media type, you're gonna predict a high-scoring game and have Pats win it by a touchdown. If i had a sports column or site, i'd lay down a bunt on this one too. If you're wrong, it's much easier for your monday column to say "wow, the Bills have matured faster than i thought" than to say "oops...i got on the Bills' bandwagon too soon..."

Only one i've seen predicting a flat out victory for the Bills is Colin Cowherd...

  5. It's funny that all the same dumb arguments against Owens still come out even though we all watched him play well here and also be a good teammate.

It's funny how some people have selective memory regarding TOs entire career and his tenure in Buffalo. On a team like the Bills, we don't need a guy who complains about getting enough throws his way, takes plays off, and drops a lot of passes at key moments. I'm sure he'd love to come here and run decoy routes and take a back seat to Stevie and Freddie....
