  1. Well...To be honest, those stats may peak my interest. But I do understand what you're saying. I think you summed it best by saying we may not be sold on Edwards, but we know JP is not the answer....

    Nice post...

Absolutely agree. J.P. had his opportunity. Although I think he was hampered by the worst offensive coordinator in bills history, he was not able to execute the bills offense. He holds the ball for too long, can't make decisive reads. As Flutie said, playing qb is about making decisions. Losman can't do it. Edwards can. You saw it against the steelers. The ball was coming out fast...

Heres to babe avatars- the more the merrier.

  2. I completely agree as well. I get more hype for a big time college rivalry game than I do the Super Bowl. I'd rather watch Auburn vs. Alabama, Notre Dame vs. USC, Florida vs. Tennessee, Texas vs. Texas A&M, Georgia vs. Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech vs. Virginia, and I could just continue on. These kids are playing for their school, all it stands for past and present, and that big crystal football. They actually care about their team and who they represent, not just themselves.

Auburn-Alabama? You're not really a Bills fan right? I would rather watch a Bills preseason game than Auburn-Alabama. Sorry, this site is for Bills fans. You should leave immediately.

    Auburn- Alabama! Sheesh.

  3. I have given this a lot of thought, and at this moment I believe Lee Evans is the most irreplaceable player on this team. If there was one person that we could not lose right now for an entire season, is Evans.

Now, I am big on strong offensive line play. I don't even necessarily believe we have to re-sign Evans in the offseason. But in terms of what we're going to do this season, I think it would absolutely crush us to lose him.

If Kirk Chambers had to replace Jason Peters, that would be terrible. However, I feel like even a below average left tackle to replace him would allow us to occasionally do something.

If Lee Evans went down, we would be stuck with a guy that can't get off the line of scrimmage (Parrish), a mediocre possession receiver (Reed), and a rookie wide receiver (Hardy). Our offense would not be able to run the ball with defenses constantly putting 8 men in the box, and our passing game would be even less effective than last year.

I don't expect Evans to put up big numbers this year. Maybe only 70 catches. But his threat - I believe - is the most important part of this team right now. Next year I might say Peters after a year of seasoning for Hardy. But not right now.

    I agree- Evans
  4. ok first off

    c

    Charisma and poise= Hamdan

  5. I just want to say that in these troubled times for Bills fans, when we are left wondering and questioning the character and moral fiber of this team, a beacon of justice, integrity, charisma, poise and most importantly chroise has been here all along, waiting for us to turn to him in our moment of darkness...

...that man's name is Gibran Hamdan.

    Hamdan FACTS:

    - You'll never find him pointing his gun at relatives...WHY? because his relatives all adore him for the CHROISE he emits.

    - You'll never see him on Chippewa at 3:30 am sneaking in booze into a bar...WHY? Because CHROISE always gets comped.

    - You'll never see him driving drunk...WHY? Because it takes a fully stocked bar, two cases of valium, and three shotguns full of elephant tranquilizer to give CHROISE a buzz.

    - You'll never see him involved in a hit-and-run...WHY? Because people would never step in front of his car, they would feel the CHROISE and stop and stare just to get a look inside. If in the rare event a mere mortal wishes to envelope the CHROISE so badly he/she/Canadian would jump in the path of his moving vehicle, Hamdan would simply step out of his car and the mortal would be healed via CHROISE.

Vote HAMDAN in '08....you'll be better because of it. FEEL THE CHROISE.

    Top five post all time

  6. The only time what the experts have to say counts is in July. We just have to get it done on the field. I expect our D to be much improved. Basically five new starters. Poz could have 150 tackles this year. I like what Fewell did last year. Some innovative things.

As to the offense, who knows? New co-ordinator and we honestly don't know if the QB can get us in the end zone consistently. But it almost has to be better than last year, doesn't it?

One thing I have to say is that I am NOT ready to call Lynch a star. He so far is in the Henry- McGahee mold: a nice runner but not what I thought we were getting when we drafted him. There were times when I thought Jackson was better. Lynch must have more long runs for the Bills to take the next step Schonert MUST open up the offense, maybe even a little no-huddle to keep us awake when the bills have the ball.

  7. What specifically did Mitchell do last year VOR?

I see that he sacked Edwards twice and Cleo Lemon once. Yes, very impressive. LOL Oh yeah, forgot one INT against the Bills (Edwards) which was thrown right to him. Great job. We should all applaud him.

So basically he had a heyday v. the Bills and has no verfiable stats other than tackles in any other game. And you think that's "playing exceptionally well?"

I'm sure you'll go off about his intangibles now and how the Giant D unit wouldn't have come together without him or something like that. Or that he ranked 4th on the team in tackles when at WLB he should have ranked 2nd behind Peirce, 3rd at worst given his position, yet he only managed to rank 4th. There were few if any games that he was the primary factor on D in as well. You overrate Mitchell.

As to Jake Long, again, you missed the point entirely. You challenged me as to the notion that the Fins had not improved. I gave you the list. You then proceed to make my point and try to show how Miami hasn't improved although they've done more than we have. So my case has merely been reinforced.

As to Johnson, he was more impressive last year in college than Hardy was and that's all but fact. The only reason why he wasn't ranked much higher in the draft is because he posted only one solid season rather than the two good ones and one outstanding one numbers wise for Hardy. Could he be a flash in the pan? Absolutely. But the fact remains, he beat better DBs and Ds far more frequently as a Sr. in school than Hardy did. What that ends up being worth remains to be seen.

AS someone who lives in Joisy and saw a lot of Giant games last year, I can tell you that Mitchell had an outstanding season, making plays and stopping the run. I was thrilled with his signing. He adds size and savvy.

  8. And note that last season, due to the lack of push from Triplett and Williams up the middle, Schobel got a LOT of double teams and still managed to get 6.5 sacks. Not a lot, but with the number of double teams he was facing, that's not absolutely terrible. Also, teams typically moved their TE over to help when he face a team's LT. Whoever suggests that Schobel is not double-teamed on every play has no idea how blocking schemes are executed and how you deal with a player who is the only legitimate pass rusher from the outside.

Who are you kidding? Schobel was invisible last season as a rusher. Kelsey is invisible every season. The return of Denney and the kid from VT give me hope though.
