    RUMOR:

    n.

A piece of unverified information of uncertain origin usually spread by word of mouth.

Unverified information received from another; hearsay.

On Wednesday afternoon I received word that the Packers and Bills were in trade discussions that included Bills running back Marshawn Lynch, Donald and/or Pat Lee and a swap of draft picks. Also, A.J. Hawk has asked for a trade and has but his house up for sale.

First the Lynch rumor. I have learned the Packers and Bills have been in discussions that had the Packers sending Donald and/or Pat Lee along with a 4th round pick (that could move up to a second rounder based on performance) to Buffalo for Lynch and a 7th round pick (that could move to a 6th based on performance). The sticking point at 5:30 pm (pst) was Lynch wanting a new deal (or years added on) to his contract while the Packers (GM Ted Thompson) wanted to wait to address his contract situation until after the season.

If a deal were to be completed I was told the Packers would cut new practice squad running back James Johnson based on his attitude and the Packers plan on cutting (and resigning to the practice squad) Dimitri Nance after a couple weeks and then sign him to a futures contract. I was also told that they may keep Nance and when rookie James Starks is eligible to come off the P.U.P. list, place him on I.R. to shelf him for the year and ensure they keep him on the roster.

  2. Anyways, Fingon was good enough to post this article in another thread but unfortunately it spawned nothing but the usual bipolar arguments about the outlook for the season with the associated infighting and backbiting characteristic of our message board and its members.

What is most interesting about this article, is that Allen Wilson posts a Bills depth chart. The thing is, the Bills themselves don't have an official depth chart at the moment.

I surmise this to mean that the depth chart in the article is Allen Wilson's projections, and though not shocking, some of his projections are pretty interesting. I've bolded the more interesting ones.

    not really tbh.

  3. Modrak ran the draft last year and this year, so no reason to believe there'd be any difference. Beyond Dick Jauron's insane personnel preference for college safeties at LBs and desire to stockpile DBs, the rest of this team is product of Tom Modrak's draft grades, as was this year's draft class.

Modrak wanted 'roidhead Cushing, but he had Maybin ranked as his #1 pass rusher. Felt Orakpo took too many plays off.

This year, he loved Spiller, which is eerily familiar to the time he felt we couldn't pass on McGahee at 23 overall.

Two years ago, Modrak had McKelvin ranked highest on his board for CBs. He turned out to be the worst of the 3 CBs taken, although Talib is enough of a headcase that I can give him a pass for that one.

Three years ago, Modrak gave Poz a mid-1st round grade. We had to give up a 3rd rounder to trade up to get him at 34. Of course, David Harris and LaMarr Woodley both turned out to be the better pros and both were available at our original pick.

yep, he sucks cuz he broke his leg last year. Lets just cut him he sucks so bad.

both would not have fit the cover 2 so fail unless you think Woodley could have played DE.
