  1. He has started less than a full season of games, way to early to make a determination one way or the other regardless of the fact that so many here have already made up their minds that he's never going to amount to anything. Only time will tell.

I hope Orton does well and leads them to the playoffs, but my feeling is that the team will continue on their current path of some good games and some bad. I fully expect EJ to be back under center after the Bye week. I hope I'm wrong.

I see two potentially fatal flaws....can't hit a down field receiver and appears to see only half of the field(either of which should disqualify him from being an NFL starter).
  2. EJ did kill them today. Lots of mistakes all around but the D picked it up, FJ picked it up, EJ didn't. He actually got worse. Not saying bench him. Just being honest. SD had the book on him. Rivers was under pressure too but he's a vet who knows how to make plays. EJ isn't yet. Will he be? If you bench him now you'll never find out and you wasted the pick.

    We wasted the pick.

  3. What bothered me most was that it seemed to take EJ out of his rhythm. He looked great on the second drive of the game when they let him throw. In the second half it seemed like every possession was 2 runs and then EJ forced to throw on 3rd and 5 or more. A tough situation and seemed like he just couldn't get going again. I worry because it seems the coaches don't trust EJ. Now, I DO understand why they don't trust him, but if this team is going to win, we need to let EJ play. I don't mean throwing on every down....but more than they are and more on 1st down.

    I don't trust Hackett.
  4. There are times when something looks like a blatant penalty but another official with a better view knows that wasn't true. And it's clear on the video replay why it could have seemed like a penalty but wasn't, so the over ruling is warranted. But that wasn't the case here whatsoever. It definitely was something. There was some kind of hold. It's arguable, I guess, that it may not always be a hold. BUT, the only way to OVERTURN that call is if another official with a better view knew it was not a hold at all. And that was NOT at all the case. I have never seen that kind of overturn either.

This officiating crew just made the watch list. I'll record the names to see if one or more do not make the cut next year.
  5. How does it get much worse than Paul Hamilton. He goes off yesterday on his own misquote of Marrone where he states that it's "unbelievable" that Marrone, in response to a question about CJ returning kick offs, stated "what risk"? Of course, that was an edited quote taken completely out of context. What Marrone actually said was that statistics show that very few kick returners ever suffer an injury, and that most kick offs these days are not returnable anyway. That was the context of his rhetorical question "what risk". Hey Paul, unlike you, Marrone has actually played and coached in the NFL for decades, and it goes without saying that he understands that EVERY play in the NFL involves risk. But go ahead, misquote, take out of context, every statement Marrone makes. Because you know zero about football. You never played the game, you never coached the game, you never consult with anybody with knowledge of the game.

But incredibly, there are worse WGR reporters than you. So Schnoop and his lapdog tell us during the week that a Bills win is "inconcievable". Then host an entire post game show without owning up to that statement. Two clueless cowards.

Schoop is 50 times worse than my worst nightmare.

  6. I don't advocate ditching EJ until it is obvious that he is the problem. At the moment it is not obvious to me that is the case. The offense hasn't functioned in pre-season at all (that goes way beyond EJ). Let's see what happens on Sunday. Anyone who has watched Kyle Orton play in the league knows that he isn't a "win games on his own" Quarterback either. So if the offense isn't functioning I don't see him being any more likely to deliver us wins than EJ.

First guy I get rid of is Hackett, not EJ

  7. I guess a good question to ask is why did Hackett wait so long in the preseason to actually start calling effective plays? Why couldn't we see more plays like we saw in the 2nd half in the first 3 preseason games?

Did Marrone and Hackett only start calling those plays so the 1st team offense could score on Tampa's backup defense just to try and save face?

I believe your theory 100%. But I also believe both Hackett and Marrone are half-brains on offense

  8. Hackett won't hack-it in the NFL. Daddy's boys never do. See Lane Kiffin. Hackett inspires no one. He has the creativity of white paint.

And neither will his boss, who I wouldn't mind coaching the O-line and nothing else.

  9. This is pretty much Mike Schopp's view on them. He loves Chicago this year and sees no way that the Bills can beat them. Mike Schopp...'nuff said.

There's no doubt that playing at home in this game gives the Bears a big advantage but for anyone to think that it's an "easy win" for Chicago or who says that they "see no way that the Bills can beat them" is just being asinine.

    Isn't asinine Schopp's middle name?

  10. I find these interviews annoying as H E double hockey sticks. Isn't a 4 1/2 hour ceremony on Saturday where each guy gets to ramble on for as long as he wants enough? That and all the "Road to the HOF" shows and countless other interviews these guys have done. Do we really need to see Michelle ask them "How does it feel to be in the HOF?" one more time while we're trying to watch the game?

I agree with you. Also, I didn't see Andre partake of this nonsense. Granted, the game was not important but there were 48 hrs of coverage before the game if you were interested in the HOFers. And Michaels and Collinswood participated like they were commenting on a book review for most of the evening.
  11. 1st of all, Da Bears AREN'T a quality opponent. We drubbed a quality team at KC in the opener 2 seasons ago and they never recovered that season. Chicago's defense was ranked 30th last season on merit! Their worst defense in the history of their franchise. Obviously, they tried to address it this off season, but there's no way they'll turn it completely around by the opener. I work with a few Bears fans and they think their 'vaunted' offense will be held pretty much in check by our D and Cutler doesn't perform well under pressure. Their take is the game comes down to their revamped D against our mediocre O.

I think THEY will be in for a big surprise!

2nd, Schoop is an embarrassment to WNY.

Schopp is an embarrassment to all English speakers. The person I'd most like to throw a bucket of s**t at.

  12. Its beyond my comprehension why jaws still has a career. I've seen that guy on ESPN for what seems like 25 years now. He has never brought ANYTHING special to the network. I can understand personalities like Stephen A Smith or or the other clown on first take, because they at least are polarizing figures, jaws brings nothing to the table and yet they'll have him out there till he's 80. He has no talent whatsoever. Mind boggling!

You think Sephen A has any talent? I only hear a loud mouth.

  13. I wish another station would go with a sports oriented format. I think it would bury WGR. I for years listened to GR almost all day, but now mostly only listen to Rome, and a little bit in the morning, but Howard and Jeremy get old real quick.

I refuse to listen to Schopp. That arrogant A-hole has no listening value whatsoever! I miss the old days and "The Coach!"

I agree 100%. The guy speaks as if he is suffering from the worst superiority complex in the history of Western NY.
