  1. Right. You really think that Obama is that bad or will be that bad at speaking? You're nuts if you think so. Wow, a politician who flip-flops. What are the odds? What has Bush done so well? The economy is a disaster, the Taliban is coming back in Afghanistan. Iraq is still a mess and our personal freedoms have been encroached. Tell me what legacy is he leaving right now? BTW, speaking of blaming things on your predecessor here is a good story. On October 14, 1964, after being deposed by his rivals at a Central Committee meeting, primarily for being an "international embarassment," Nikita Khrushchev, who until only moments earlier was the First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, sat down in his office and wrote two letters. Later, his successor, Leonid Brezhnev, upon taking office found the two letters and a note Khrushchev had attached: "To my successor: When you find yourself in a hopeless situation which you cannot escape, open the first letter, and it will save you. Later, when you again find yourself in a hopeless situation from which you cannot escape, open the second letter." And soon enough, Brezhnev found himself in a situation which he couldn't get himself out of, and in desperation he tore open the first letter. It said simply, "Blame it all on me." This Brezhnev did, blaming Khrushchev for the latest problems, and it worked like a miracle, saving him and extending his career. However, in due time Brezhnev found himself in another disaster from which he could not extricate himself. Without despairing he eagerly searched his office and found the second letter, which he tore open desperate for its words of salvation. It read thus: "Sit down, and write two letters." So food and safe buildings aren't important? You should not post while on crack. Just sayin.
  2. That hurts!! But only 'cause it's true. Actually, I've had more women than have probably even looked at you!
  3. This article about the 2006 agreement and Ralph Wilson is pretty funny. Who's laughing now? I agree that #2 is key but I think the union and owners need to jump on the negotiations now! this is going to be a long dragged out process. The owners might get an extra franchise tag out of this if they have to agree to a higher %age.
  4. You're turned on by brooms?!
  5. I think a few things will come out of the new CBA. 1. A rookie slotting system for draft pick salaries. This is something the verteran players want a lot I believe. Guys like Terrance McGee have to seeth when they see McKelvin walk into camp, never having played a single down in the NFL, and know the guy is making more than you. So, IMO, 90% of the players will be for it. It will also make trading up into the top 10 a lot more popular. The union has said they won't go for it but that's just posturing IMO. 2. I don't think there will be a big, if any, increase in the %age of money for the salary cap. I expect the union to focus a lot more on guaranteed monies in the contracts. The union will push for a higher % but will be willing to back off for more guarantees on the contracts. 3. I think the length of new rookie contracts will be lessened. 4. The owners will probably have to donate a higher amount of money every year to a fund for retired players. 5. The owners will want a way to get out of Michael Vick type situations without the big financial penalty. Will the union go for it? Probably not. Those are things I can think of right now. BTW, I know it will be a new CBA agreement. Figured I'd beat the smartasses to it.
  6. I remember reading several articles about the problems of trading up in the draft into the top 10 and the vast majority of the problem is the salaries. I don't think there are a lot of teams that are willing to trade up from 21st to #1 for their first and a second. The new CBA is probably going to have a rookie scale for the draft. It will make trading up a lot easier.
  7. Must have hung out with one of my exes.
  8. No. I wouldn't even sign him for vet min. The fact that he only wanted a one year deal last year so he could be a FA this year shows he's a selfish player and his sub par season means that he just can't get it done when a lot is on the line. No, thanks.
  9. I know very little about how websites actually work and I got it. You're right though that most people won't care about the minutia but I think it will stick out a little when they hear it was faked. JMO
  10. If he resigns then that probably means he doesn't want to play anymore. My feelings on bringing in any other vet receiver, barring injury, is what you just said.
  11. Palin’s unending emissions of baffling, evasive incoherence should have disqualified her for any position that involved a desk, let alone placing her one erratic heartbeat from the presidency. _________________________ In the end, Palin had the beneficial effect of splitting her party between her admirers and people who can read. I didn't read all of them yet but I would have put Cheney #1 I'm also pissed that I only made #43. I'm far worse than that!
  12. I have no idea how curling is played but I have two observations. 1. Women should be better at anything called curling. 2. Women should be better at anything that requires a broom. JMO And to get back on topic, I'd do a few of them!! One more thing. I never realized in baseball you have to hit pitches.
  13. I agree when it was 14 games a back had to hit 72 yards per game. I think 1,150 is what should be considered a great year for a RB now.
  14. Thanks for adding no facts to the thread.
  15. Look above at what Gene wrote. The reason they did it is because it was the first day they put up a search engine to see if you were one of the people on the list of the ballots in question between Franken and himself. They wanted it to appear like so many people were trying to find out that their board crashed. It was a stunt so poorly executed it's obvious that's what they were trying to do.
  16. There isn't anyone on this board who wouldn't fight for the most money on their job. Athletes aren't overpaid they are getting what they deserve because they are the NFL's biggest asset.
  17. I was going to post the same sentiment to him but 104-113 is too much to B word at him about. Anyone on this board would be bitching about that temperature no matter where they lived or at what time of year it was.
  18. Right, the right never bitches about taxes being higher for the rich, the liberal courts are the reason for keeping America free since that pisses them off and God is being taken out of society. Anyway, This was a faked crash. It works now because they fixed it and the plan was to only have it down for a little while anyway.
  19. It will actually help towards global cooling volcanic ash blocks the sun's rays. If every volcano in the world erupted at the same time it could trigger another ice age.
  20. Lynch - Both Evans - Steelers Peters - Both Poz - Both Whitner - FS Both Parrish - PR McKelvin - ST - Both Wendling - ST - Both Moorman - Both Stroud - Both McGee - Cardinals The main reason Buffalo wasn't in the playoffs is because TE is not ready to be a SB caliber QB and that's the most important position. With weaker QB's both of those teams wouldn't be in the SB. JMO
  21. Arizona 31 Squealers 17
  22. God I hope I'm right you Jack-ASS!!!
