1. From Head Coach to Offensive Coordinator to Tight-Ends coach(???) in the span of 13 months. A fitting fall for Mr. Gadget Play.

At least he got his wish to move back home to Fort Lauderdale after having to endure the "rough" Buffalo press and the "rough ride" his kids endured in school due to his blumbering coaching performance.

http://www.phins.com/phorum/read.php?2,4920 Fins fans, enjoy him because he's your problem now.

  2. If Willis ran with A-trains tenacity, or A-Train had Willis' talent, you'd have a great RB. I do believe Willis is expendable to the Bills, but there's not a lot of talent available. Michael Turner is generally an unknown for full time duty but he's really the only one i'd want to take a flier on. I'd hate to see the Bills use a 1st or 2nd on a RB when there's other needs to be met

The A-train filled in admirably for Willis but I found that on many occasions, he wasn't patient enough to wait for the holes to open up and develop. Had had better patience, he could have gained many more yards. Some of this can be taught by a running backs coach, some of it is innate. For all of Willis' attitude issues (and performance issues?), he's a more patient back.

  3. Asante Samuel played himself into a Washington Redskins uniform last night (and throughout the playoffs) and into Dan Snyder's wallet.

Clements value had taken a drop as it's clear that Samuels will not only test the FA market but likely bolt from the Pats.

http://www.silive.com/sports/advance/index....xml&coll=1 (see bottom 3rd of article)

Samuel, who had 10 interceptions in the regular season, had two picks in the postseason. He has a total of 19 interceptions, regular season and postseason, in a four-year career. He wants big money. He said the Patriots have balked.

"We've talked about a new contract," Samuel said last week. "What they offered isn't even worth discussing. It's disappointing. You want to believe they know what you've done, so you hope for the best, but you end up feeling underappreciated. You feel disrespected, especially how they come at you with so much negative stuff.

"I took it personally, at first. You'd think I would have been around this team long enough to realize it's all about business."

  4. Being the loser did he even shake hands with the winners? I thought I saw him just run off the field as soon as the game ended. If I am wrong please correct me. If so Brady is not only classless but spineless as well.

Brady called Manning after the Baltimore win. They golf together. On the field before the game, they chatted for 5 minutes. I'm glad to see Brady lose, but he's not a total jack-@ss. He knows they will both be Hall of Fame inductees.

  5. How huge is the two-point conversion for the Colts in the second half of the game?

Phil Simms said the Colts should do a 1 point convert

With 1 minute left, Brady needs a touchdown to win the game. A field goal won't do it. Had Phil Simms got his wish, the Pats would have a chance to tie the game in his 60 seconds left on the clock.

  6. He's the best QB in the NFL. No contest.

    12-1 in the playoffs. Unbelievable.

At the end of the day, those stats are what counts. The 12 W's, not his 57 passer rating on the day. He got the job done. (But he can thank boneheaded turnovers, personal fouls, and ill-timed use of time-outs on Schotty's part)

  7. No doubt about mistakes - RIDICULOUS mistakes - on the Chargers. But those mistakes convienently cover up Brady's horrible game. 57 passer rating - yeah this is the guy who is supposed to be better than Montana? Please.

Stats shmats. As much as we dislike the guy, Brady got the job done. He moved the team down the field when NE needed points to draw closer (end of 1st 1/2, to tie the game, and take the lead in the 4thQ). He got NE the W. If I'm Brady, I'll take the W and a trip to Indy over a better passer rating than 57 any time.

  8. How about an explosive Lawrence Maroney type back to complement McGahee in the backfield. You have speedy, explosiveness from a Maroney-type back. And you have a power running game anchored by McGahee. Not sure if McGahee's ego would tolerate this, but it might be worth a try.

  9. His Dad. At least he did not do the bowl games. Also, Troy is not great — every comment begins with, "Yeah ..."

It's the short man syndrome afflicting gremlin Joe. He makes up for his height deficiencies by blabbering on like a pseudo-big man broadcaster.

And when Troy is not beginning sentences with "Yeah ...", he begins them with "I mean, ....."

CBS is so much better on NFL coverage.....

Jim Nance and Phil Simms will be soooooooooooo much better later this afternoon when the Chargers crush NE Idiots.

  10. Is it just me or is today a great example of how much CBS does a better job than Fox in covering the NFL.

    Better replays and better angles.

Better context and insight on the game.

Better colour commentary. (Where was the deep critique of Bush's bumbling fumble in the 4th quarter. Johnston says absolutely nothing)

    Better graphics.

Better pre-game show, half-time show and studio. (Yeah, Marino doesn't add much value, but Bradshaw and Johnson are relics)

Better use of silence when silence is best applied. (Too much blabber from Stockton. Sometimes silence is the best play-by-play as Jim Nance is so good at.)

Saragusa makes for a few good laughs and is the only thing that differentiates Fox.

......No wonder JB left Fox for CBS...........

  11. As much as that Royal play bothered me at the time I don't think it would have changed the outcome.  Is there any doubt that on 4th and 1 with 2 minutes left the Titans would have picked up the first down and likely scored the go ahead TD (as opposed to kicking the go ahead FG)?

The blame for this loss goes squarely to the D.  When is the last time this unit made a stand late in the 4th quarter?

    877084

How about last week against Miami on the last play of the game on the untimed fourth down goal line stand?

  12. Pats are not THAT good, Jets will be better, Fish have issues.  IF the team can make some improvments on the Dline and maybe 1 or 2 Oline players, I see no reaosn why we cant win the East?

    877803

Marooney has brought a new weapon to NE's offence. +2 1st Round pics next year. And as much as we hate the team, no one has been able to replicate NE's ability to stay competitive year in year out.

I'm still not sold on the Jets and not convinced that Pennington is a marquee QB.

They're running game is non-existent. The Jets would have finished 6-10 if they had the Bills schedule. Wk 17 is another great comparison: Jets play Oakland, Bills play the Ravens.

The Fish need help on offence, especially with MM as their OC. The defence, while playing well this year, is aging. And still an outside chance (20%??) that Saban is coaching Alabama next year.

    2007 prediction:

    NE 11-5

    BUF 9-7

    NYJ 7-9

    MIA 5-11
