Well in all fairness. Shula was the first coach to take the Colts to the Super Bowl.
Do you think it was that nostalgia that motivated Shula to stay on stage?
The Colts mystique is less and less tied to the city of Baltimore as time passes and increasingly is tied to the state of Indiana. Particularly now after winning the Superbowl. I figured Shula was asked to carry the Lombardi to the podium because he was so associated with the city hosting XLI. I also wonder if the Colts arranged for him to stay on the podium with them, in the event they won. One additional person on the stage (i.e., Shula) allows one less Colts player or even management member (Polian perhaps??) to be on the small podium. I wonder if it grated any Colts players having Shula up there instead of one of their own.

Please let us know what happens!
Do you think the NFL has pre-approved form letters responding to letters like this?
"Dear Mr. Smith,
We appreciate your interest in pursuing an NFL team at this time.
Unfortunately no current openings are available.
We will keep your letter on file for 6 months in the event our needs change
Thank you for your interest in the NFL. We wish you the best of success in your future endeavours.
Yours truly,
Roger Goodell
NFL Commisioner"

He's to be in charge of the coffee run to the local Dunkin Donuts.
Of course he may change the run into a triple reverse fake punt- pass.
How about "Fins Media Relations Manager". He's got expertise in this area after dealing with the "difficult" Buffalo press. (MM will always feel the Buffalo media was tougher than the media can be in places like NY, Philadelphia, Dallas, and Chicago).

New Orleans freezes up in Chicago. Pats luck runs out at Indy. Colts over Bears in da' Bowl.
Well done Georgia Bill. Your picks were right on target.
-
Brady for the next 2-3 years
Vince Young for the future. (The guy is a rock star and, by the end of his career, will be THE best African-American QB to play the game ... supplanting the greats like Warren Moon and the others).

.... and a Superbowl free of a--holes like Belichek and Parcells and their ilk is a good thing.

Rhodes will cash in with some team willing to make him a #1 back. See: Lamont Jordan. I could see Houston throwing some cash his way.
Rhodes should cash in now. His market value will never be higher than it is now. Experts questioned Polian for letting Edge go last year to free agency. Addai - Rhodes clearly replaced him admirably. Next year, it will be Addai -- ???tbd.

If this offseason pans out and the Bills are able to retain Nate Clements...I am all for it
If ML and the brain trust signed Donte, they're probably close to developing their strategy re: Nate and what to offer him.

The Chiefs are looking for more pocket presence and ability to stretch the "field."
He should be able to help the team on L O N G drives.

INCREDIBLE Halftime show. Fantastic in HD and a great 5.1 Audio mix. I had the stereo cranked and the house was Rockin'! People who think that Prince went out of style back in the early 90's are slaves to the radio. Great artists continue to put out great albums even if the pop station you listen to don't play them.
As for people saying Prince is gay... if being gay means getting all the smokin' chicks he's had over the years then I want to be gay too!
Agreed. And way better than McCartney.

The divide between the old school owners and the new rich boy owners who bought in for big bucks (Kraft, Arthur Black, Jerry Jones, et. al.) continues to grow. The new rich boy owners have no patience for Ralph and his ilk. I'm sure behind the scenes they continue to label RW a crybaby as he and Shumer plead the Bills case.

I hope not. Why would we want to see Lee's value inflate due to injury? Any probowl appearance will translate into leverage when it comes down to signing. And speaking of that, I hope the Bills extend Evans THIS offseason, while they're 30 million under the cap. I think Lee is already a top-5 receiver in the league and I don't think we've seen his best yet. 7 years, 30 million now or you're looking at 50% more next year. Somewhat arbitary numbers, basing off Branch's contract, but you get the idea.
He's a Steve Smith in the making. Let's hope they complement his other side with someone more impactful than Peerless Price. Indy's Harrison-Wayne double punch has been deadly for years now.

From Head Coach to Offensive Coordinator to Tight Ends Coach(??) in the span of 13 months.
I'm happy that Mr. Gadget Play will remain in the AFC East with one of our competitors. Let them endure his bumbling play-calling and coaching.

Here comes another baby momma.
Can you forsee Willis increasing his contract demands in order to feed all the kids? Remember that he is the "best" running back in the NFL.

People are STILL putting Michael Vick into these kind of discussions?
Take Michael Vick out and insert the following name -- 6ft4 Vince Young -- who by the end of his career, could be the greatest African-American quarterback to ever play the game. The guy could be a rock star in this league.

In classless, jackass fashion, I can antagonize the dumbarse Bears' fans that can't see that this team was only good on paper... Beating happless, sucky teams all year!
They also thumped the Bills 40-7.

What mechanics?
To answer your question, let me give you an example: his tremendous self-sacking abilities.
-
That's a good idea.
My vote would have been for Rhodes.
Rhodes is going into free agency this year. We'll see how much Polian/Dungy want him back and whether they think he is replaceable/irreplaceable.

The Pride of Lackawanna
Jaws is one of the few talking heads that knows football. I respect the Hell out of him. It's good news that he picked us.
I also respect his knowledge but also his passion/enthusiasm for the game.

eh....perhaps. I guess with no clear cut winner they gave it to the sentimental favorite, who just so happens to be the team leader
Because they couldn't (1) Split the award between Rhoes and Addai nor (2) Give it to the defence, they gave it to the offensive team's "manager". Manning did a good job of managing the game.

WTF is Don Shula's problem? So he gets to carry the Lombardi trophy up to the podium. Goodell presents the trophy to Colts owner Ursay and leaves the stage to allow the Colts to enjoy the limelight. Don Shula??? Well, he stays up on the podium behind Peyton, and Dungy, and Ursay. Get the frig off the stage Donnie. Your time has long passed. If the Commish can leave the podium, me thinks you can too.

Way I see it, JP showed significant progress from Game 1 to Game 16. He was a totally different QB, and yes, he was consistent. Grossman was all over the board.
.... and JP will crack the Top 10 next year in QB stats.

It will be interesting to see if we go after any undrafted free agents from Boise State
Or some of BSU's key competitors in the WAC.

Michael Irvin picks the Packers....Jaworski picks....DA BILLS!
Let's go Buffalo!!!!!
And Sports Illustrated picked the 2006 Miami Dolphins to win Superbowl XLI after finished 2005 strongly at 9-7.
Let's feel good about increased recognition for our 7-9 Bills, but let's take "expert" opinion with a grain of salt.

The Fins picking Brady Quinn is an interesting call.
Dante may never be the same quarterback again. Knees are complex instruments. Some athletes can bounce back from knee injuries, some not. His knee may hobble his mobility forever.
Joey Harrington put his skills on display at RW Stadium with his 0.0 QB rating and again against the Jets at home. Nuff said.
Cleo Lemon didn't show enough in coming off the bench to relieve Harrington to show he can be a franchise quarterback.
