  1. I seriously doubt that they stick with Cassells as a starter for the year. My guess is that Simms will be signed, and Bellichek will lean on the D more than he had to last year.

Predictions aside - the hit on Brady did not look dirty, but I did a flashback to the hit on JP last year, which was definitely a cheap shot and looked worse on film...I'd never root for anyone to get injured, but it does have a poetic justice-type element to it.

    Haha now they're DOOOOOOOOOOOMED!

  2. I really don't understand how so many haters emerged in the three years since I started reading this board; It is kind of depressing how negative posts get constantly shoved up to the front page by the same 48 trollers sitting in their mom's basement crucifying the Bills front office every chance they get.

I really don't get it, but maybe I'm just not ignorant and inexperienced enough...injuries happen, pro football is a business (that's what the "pro" is for by the way). Listen I love 99% of you guys, especially eBall, and I know this is the place for criticism, but can you all at least get somewhat educated before sending your bong-hit saturated thoughts out to cyberspace for us all to squint at?

Before you criticize: yes I've played plenty of football at the collegiate level, and yes, I do write for a living.

  3. I know... friends mom... Bill Walsh at the buffalo airport... whatever, just throwing it out there. Not saying its true, just saying the angle I have heard from one of Marzo's employees.

    I am hudella's source:

"I'm all up in ur Rosterz....

    Hobblin' allz ur LineBackerz!!!"

  4. I could not believe it when I heard that Crowell was put on IR for a 2-4 week injury. This amateurish front office is a joke. We have no real GM. Not hiring a real GM is a cheap/stupid move by the owner.

The Peters debacle and not getting Evans signed to an extension by now are tell-tale signs that the owner has one foot in the grave and the other out of town. Evans is as good as gone next year if we don't franchise him.

Bottom line . . . this team can no longer truly compete in the NFL. The playing field is so stacked against us that we fans will ultimately be frustrated to no end. I see where many posters talk up a good, optimistic view of things. But anyone that is being realistic and knows anything, realizes that we are playing extremely shorthanded. And trying to play as shorthanded as this organization does is no way to try and win. . . which we won't do much of.

    EPIC FAIL!!!!

TRY AGAIN TROLL! DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED !!!!! WE LOST OUR THIRD BEST LINEBACKER BOO HOO HOO

  5. Our starting QB was "knocked out of the OL"? Don't really know what you're talking about here, but the linemen had nothing to do with TE banging knees with Lynch. Losman bruised his thumb, so what? All five of those OLmen last night were fringe players, second, third, fourth stringers. I don't know why I keep getting sucked into reading your long-winded posts -- I guess I'm expecting at least some profundity and wisdom in such a long post; alas, I never find any.

  6. Losman was on CBS Buffalo yesterday. Did anyone see his beard? My god it is so ridiculous. Un-trimmed and scruff. He was talking about being ready, and he did sound immature and like a baby.

Wow I hope you aren't serious. Don't get mad and jealous just because you can't grow facial hair.

  7. I personally think he is handeling it with class. Just think of others in this situation. Remember Billy Joe didn't even read the playbook for crying out loud. At least JP is ready to play.

Agreed. Listen I never was a JP supporter but everyone around here pretty much agrees that he was jerked around by previous Bills' administrations. He can admit to being a little bitter and confused no problem, as long as he isn't a distraction to the team and he keeps working on his weaknesses and trying to become a better QB.

  8. Ellison got benched witht he signing of Mitchell. No LB movement was done.

Yeah I think some may have been confused because Ellison (a weakside backer) was actually filling in for Crowell at strongside during some series in the preseason games. But Kawika is a natural weakside pass-rushing backer and Crowell is a sam backer.

  9. The other thing I really took notice of was that it's very obvious what one of JPs biggest problems is - after his intial dropback, he doesn't step up into the pocket when the D-lineman are coming around the outside. He gets that deer in the headlight freezeup and gets sacked. He could give himself that extra second to find a receiver or throw it away. He's taking sacks unnecessarily.

Yep that has been JP's biggest problem since coming into the league. His pocket presence leaves much to be desired -- he just doesn't have the gameday awareness to be consistently successful. Not his "fault" exactly, some guys just don't have it and can't develop it for some reason. His best (and, IMO only) chance for consistent success is to go to a team with an excellent offensive line and a coordinator that will let him take off and run whenever he pleases.

  10. In my world one strives for the best. Here everything stagnates with so called fans rummaging through the team's braintrust's laundry baskets looking for sniffs to get high on.

Yes people! kat strives for the best! In his world success (how he defines it at least) is everything! Logic and coherence mean nothing! Get on the bus, b*tches, kat will make us winners!

  11. e-ball, make no mistake.....no franchise could exist without fans such as you. I mean this as a sincere compliment.

That said, I am into this thing as much as you. I dare say that my annual trip costs as much as, or more than a season ticket, and I do not begrudge one dime. Not being rich, I actually put away money for this trip all year.

I want them to win as much as you, and wish that they would depart from tactics that have been proven as failures. Despite this, I will be cheering them as loud as anyone in America every Sunday. I will never give up, but excuse me if at times I am bowled over by dumb moves - ones that I have seen before. The Peters situation is close to being my worst nightmare as a Bills Fan. I shouldn't take it so seriously mind you; I know this, but it leaves me with a knot in my stomach. That's all.

    Enjoy your weekend!

Ha! how did I know it would be only you two responding to this ridiculous thread I started...Obviously I side with eball on this one (as I do on most issues) but I seriously respect posters like Bill who express well-grounded and researched opinions, unlike some others that shall remain nameless. I joined the board because of people like u two, kudos to you both; I knew I'd get you both with this one though!

  12. I would offer that if Peters does that... with or without the current hold out... the FO would willingly make him one of the top paid OL in the league. There would be little forcing involved.

THE END...and thank you Dan for the compliment earlier in the post...I think this debate has been debated to death by now 6 pages later, I know I don't post much...I'm a believer in quality over quantity sorry. Obviously there's going to be folks just in love with Peters (kat, BillinNYC) who don't give a **** what stupid friggin moves he does in the off-season - we NEED him, bottom line. Speaking practically I really can't disagree, no one of our possible replacements for Peters comes close to his overall skill, agility, etc... I tend to look at the big picture; I don't care how sweet any one (1), I'll repeat that, ONE, player is on a 53 man roster, you never cave to the BS Peters' agent is pulling right now. Some think the Bills are gambling by doing this and heads will roll if we don't have our signature OT: newsflash --- it won't. What also won't happen is Peters holding out for a full season. This whole thread of posts will be committed to the dust in less than a week when Peters reports to camp sometime next week. Hey, I don't have anything against Peters - he's a great LT, a revelation at that position for the Bills. That doesn't change the fact he's got a BS agent who doesn't really know what he's doing. Peters might as well hire Master P.

  13. The Bills stance on this subject is similar to other clubs who are having holdout players. The Rams told Steven Jackson to report then they would speak to him. I believe Jackson was hurt last year as well. Hester didn't get his new deal until he reported to camp. Urlacher got a new deal but he showed up to Minicamp and training camp ontime. Tommy Harris got a new deal and showed up to do everything. The Packers aren't getting anywhere with Ryan Grannt.

In listening to Sirius all the time It's almost unanimous that people believe the players need to show committment to the club. Committiment in willing to play out their current deal. Pat Kirwan who was the GM for the Jets believes the Bills stance is the best one. Jason Peters stands to lose 405,000 for holding out one month. If he sits out the season he loses game checks worth 3.5 million dollars plus by sitting out it essentially adds another year to his contract. The Bills hold all the cards in regards to the player. Sooner or later Jason Peters is going to have to show his face.

I personally think Peters is the best LT in football and deserves the money. He is the anchor of the line and without him the Bills are in trouble. But, Peters needs to show up to camp and prove that he is healthy and in shape.

Kota stop making sense and explaining how teams run their businesses in the real world -- kat's brain will melt.

  14. Backpeddling I see.

Have they said that that would be adequate? Has Brandon publicly stated or even privately stated that if Peters gets checked out by the team's physicians and can run some simple drills to show that he has nothing major wrong with him that he will negotiate with him? No. Sure hasn't. Kinda makes your point utterly moot.

So your point then remains what Brandon's is. Show up to camp and risk injury or we're not talking. Peters and his agent say fine, you have more to lose than we do, and they're right, and are holding out.

    So that's where we are.

No not backpeddling at all. And no my point is not moot. Do do know the definition of that word? What's moot is this "risk" you keep spouting about. That risk is already present in front of the minds of all parties involved: Peters, Parker, the Bills, everybody. It's present because it's already occurred -- he was injured last season. So I guess you're of the opinion that the Bills should assume 100% of the risk in Peters' case, because he had one great season? I got ya...the Bills assume all the risk and shell out a mint to this guy and Peters' should assume none of it, because he *might* get re-injured in camp?

Like I've said you would make one savvy businessman...and your obviously a great Bills fan too.

By the way, this FO did not let Williams or R. Brown "walk"

  15. Show me a groin injury that required surgery and then take the percentage of groin injuries that have occured and tell me what percent have ended the careers of players just moving into their primes or under say the age of 28 and correspondingly what percentage of any surgery incidents you can find from routine groin injuries ended careers.

...you done? Blow it out of proportion to make your point, go ahead. Never did I suggest that the injury was career threatening. The injury doesn't have to be career threatening to make a team (justifiably) hesitant to just hand over money to a guy who ended the previous year on IR. Maybe Peters is fine, 100% and ready to go. Maybe he's even stronger and quicker than last year. Show me then, Jason. Show your teammates, show Brandon and Jauron you are. Go to camp, practice, and get your money. At least kat will shut up then for a couple of days, until he finds another reason to bash the FO.
