yes, he should be benched or better yet taken behind the filed house and shot, then cut. That's what this team should do to one of maybe 5-7 competent NFL players on this 2012 trainwreck joke of a team. Fred is one of a select few Bills that coaches actually game plan on.

But yea this team should make an example of Fred Jackson.

Unreal. Just unreal here sometimes. Clueless.....................

Clueless to suggest some consequences for negative plays? OK. I think you're just blindly loyal to your favorite player and get off making excuses for him.

Spiller is the RB opposing teams have to game plan for, not Jackson. FJ's yards per carry is down to 4.0. Lowest of his career and a wholly pedestrian number. He has already lost more fumbles (3) through 9 games than in any previous season. These are facts, you can look them up yourself if you could manage it.

  2. Fitz looked off the safety for at least a full Mississippi. Also, plays have progressions, which are dictated by where specific defensive players are and what coverage call the QB perceives them to be in. Are you saying that if Fitz connects with one of the underneath receivers that it would then be the right play call?

I didnt see him look him off at all but i trust you. And no, if he connected on a secondary or tertiary read i still dont think it would be a good play call. That's the point. I don't think that play at that time was a good call period. Doesn't matter that the secondary receivers were able to get open.

  3. Dude come on. How can you say it was a bad play call when 2 guys were open underneath? That is so illogical. What was clearly a timing route to TJ requires a throw to where the receiver will be. If TJ runs the correct route then that makes 3 players who got open with 20 seconds left. TJ's head is not in the game and that play is on him. Hopefully TJ responds positively to this and is able to step his game up. The team needs him to do so as soon as possible. Big boy football requires supreme discipline.

It's not illogical if TJ was the primary target on that play call, which i assume he was since Fitz was locked on him the entire play. That's a bad play call period in that situation. I know Gailey's trying to fool the defense and go to an underused guy or whatever but in that situation they still have to go the proven guys like SJ or CJ, who were both open.

Like i said it's different if there is only five seconds left or whatever but with time left the secondary routes are open you throw it to them

Fred Jackson is no longer one of our best players. We could probably get similar production out of tashard choice, Hell Tashard choice is averaging 4.3ypc this year on only 20 less carries than Fred Jackson who's averaging 3.7. Cj Spiller should be getting touches and kept on the field at all times other than the occasional breather, but outside of that the offense should revolve around Spiller

Well considering the other talent on the team, Fred still is one of our "better" players unfortunately. But Spiller is light years ahead of Fred you're right. Someone's got to tell the coaches that though, because they're still play calling like FJ and CJ are comparable players. They are not.

  5. I have one thing to say here. Crying about the play call "into the end zone" is ridiculous. There were 4 more routes underneath that were run. How long will some of you guys watch football and still not understand what the hell is going on. Fitz chose to throw it to the wrong guy in that situation when the money throws were underneath with enough time on the clock to take at least one shot into the end zone at close range. Wow! Chan calls the play, Fitz makes his reads, then decides where to throw it. If he throws it where he shouldn't or is inaccurate, then that is on Fitz.

So you"re saying that it doesn't matter which route the receiver runs, why call any plays then? Just let everybody run around and leave it to the QB to make the right "read".

Well yeah man. It's a different story if there is 5 seconds left and you have to go to the end zone. But there was time to spare and Fitz completely looked off two open guys underneath. I know TJ ran the wrong depth but the vet throwing the ball has to see the coverage, even if he only has a split second before releasing the ball to recognize it. It was a bad play call and Gailey and TJ deserve blame as well, but I can't let Fitz completely off the hook; he's done this before.

  6. Bills WR T.J. Graham took the blame for the interception that ended Buffalo’s chance at victory Sunday against the Patriots.

“That was a rookie mistake,” said Graham. “I was supposed to cross his face in the front. It was a good pass. If I went across his face, I probably would have made a play, so I take the blame for that one. That was my mistake. It might be why I don’t get on the field much. I can’t make those mistakes.”

Might be. But the onus is on the veteran QB, not the the rookie 3rd round WR, to make a better read.

  7. So why do we design the most important play of the game to go to Graham when he has a history of bad reads? All I saw was three Pats and Graham. Sure looks like Fitz threw to a spot and Graham was not there . Kind of a dangerolus call in the middle of the field.

I am upset that we played that entire last series with Spiller lined up wide and with an empty backfield. That alignment takes away the threat of a draw, a screen, or outlet pass to Spiller isolated on a LB.

Spiller can score from anywhere in the field but he has to have the ball.

The call was mind boggling i know. But even in an empty set w/ spiller out wide they could run a bubble screen or something. I dont really mind the formation. Spiller was open on that last play as was SJ. But Fitz was vapor locked on TJ and misfired (wrong route depth be damned).

  8.

You are right about one thing - there is no defense

Great post D but Fitz isn't the answer. I don't like hating on the guy either but he's way too inconsistent to depend on. TJ may have been the one who messed up on the INT but he still had Johnson and Spiller open on his other reads.

The D is bad. There are salvageable parts - Byrd, K. williams, Dareus (maybe). But they need to focus on QB as well.

  9.

You didn't; I'm saying that his post was unhelpful and pointless. Anyway, I hope we hear some good news about extensions soon.

Ok, but you don't think Byrd might go to a team that actually wins and can afford to pay him- Baltimore, New England, etc? It would be a huge loss for the defense.

Maybe. I don't see him as that type of guy and the championship seeker guys are usually much older players than Jairus. If the Bills offer him the money commensurate with his worth i think they have a better than good chance of locking him up.

  10.

This isn't mindless, unfounded speculation. This is a realistic possibility, given that we haven't heard anything/seen extensions signed. I'm not sure what your point is.

My point brother is it's very unlikely we lose all 3 of those guys to free agency. One or two? Sure, possibly. But given the fact that Byrd is probably the best player on the defense it's highly unlikely they let him walk.

Losing all 3 is about as possible as the CJ to Jacksonville trolling.
