So is Watkins.
Watkins has been having a good rookie season. Beckham has been having an outstanding season by any measure. I don't think trading up for Sammy is some huge disaster or something and I think they will be similar talents and Watkins could easily have the better career, but Beckham has been what we wanted Sammy to be this season.

Gilmore has been excellent these past two weeks.

5. It seemed like the best offensive play calling of the season. Was it? I couldn't see the formations and player groupings so much.
I was very happy with the creative play calling in the first quarter, but after that everything went to ****.
-
we are a good team, IMO
We're more like ok
-
why would they keep him?
Hackett likes to have him in to stretch the field and draw safety coverage away. Plus he is a good receiver. We still have Easley on the team and he missed two straight years on IR.
-
Ha ha ha ha ... Spiller doesn't see half the holes that were there today. Most of the good solid runs were inside.
Bryce Brown is about the equivalent to CJ in vision and he managed to hit most of the holes today.

When was the last time the bills won three games in a row.
Edit: I was genuinely curious about this so I looked it up and it was back in 2011 when we beat the Chiefs (7-9), Raiders (8-8), and Pats (13-3) in the first three weeks.

Glass is an appropriate nickname. He will be cut next year.
He definitely won't be cut next year
-
Do you really have that short of a memory. He very deservingly went to the probowl as the punt returner just two years ago.
-
I do blame Hackett to some extent for the poor running attack but the fact of the matter is our line cannot block.
-
If we had an o-line on par with what dallas has we'd be one of the best teams in the league. With solid run blockers opening up wholes for Freddy and CJ we'd actually be able to be a run first team like we were supposed to be and we'd be a dominant one. Instead we're stuck with Marrone outsmarting himself and Hackett unable to put together a solid rushing attack despite having two pro bowl caliber running backs. I'm fine with a lot of what Marrone's done and I think he is a good enough head coach to succeed in the nfl but I place all our offensive line woes on him and for that I wouldn't mind seeing him gone at the end of the season.

The problem with Spiller is that he lacks vision. Even when there is a hole, he either makes the wrong cut or tries to bounce outside where there is nothing. The only way to make him productive is in the passing game. Get him the ball when he's already outside and let him use his speed. I agree that trying to run him between the tackles is fruitless.
I mean the guy averaged six yards per carry, he can run the ball. I see him the same way as I see Lesean McCoy who is also struggling with just 2.9 ypc this season. These guys need some solid run blocking and if they get it they are at the top of the league. Without it they just run into the line and get stuffed.

Very underrated hire, IMO.
Especially when you look at the state of the Pats now.

God that was a great win against a great team but let's not get too optimistic. The Bills offense still only managed one touchdown which only evened the score with the pick 6. We still had a lot of trouble moving the ball down the field and while out defense looked dominant and had a phenomenal game, the Lions were without their best player.
-
I want the Bills to trade CJ just so he can excel on another team. It just seems like such a waste watching him run into the line for one yard over and over again.
-
Fred is the greatest Bill in the last 15 years.
-
Can you imagine if that was Stevie we were trying to do that with? Actually, yes. Lol. Stevie is good but he doesn't make those catches.
I don't know that one handed grab by Stevie against the Seahawks is still one of the most impressive plays I've ever seen.
-
It'll be a tough game and to be honest I don't really expect the Bills to win it but I wouldn't be too surprised if they did. The Lions are the number 1 defense in the nfl and their d-line will wreck our o-line.
-
Seantrel left jj watt totally unblocked on that pick.
-
Gates, Weddle, Scifres.
SD is really a clone of our team in the sense that many of their strengths are our strengths. These 3 would make the most impact over what we have, though I was grasping at straws for the 3rd one. Rivers would also be a good add, but I'd rather develop our own QB.
I would say the Jets are the closes clone to our team.
-
I felt the playcalling was much better when Jeff Tuel played than when EJ played last season. I feel like EJ really shackled Hacketts play calling.
-
I would do that in a second. I still believe EJ will be solid but I think Tanny will be a better QB this year.
-
A lot of convenient excuses in here, just saying.
Good teams may not win all their preseason games but their starters don't look like hot garbage. We've had a lot of hot garbage from our starters in preseason a during this playoff drought, and shocker, it has resulted in hot garbage during the regular season.
I know this will get dismissed as me "overreacting" but I'll dismiss those responses as fanboys wearing their rose colored glasses.
Half our starters weren't even playing. The 80 yard Antonio Brown touchdown was caused by Duke Williams and Corey Graham running into each other, neither of them are starters.
-
Jesus its just a preseason game. We don't even have our starting o-line set and our two starting receivers weren't even playing for most of the time. We gave up two touchdowns and one was caused by our backup safety bumping our backup corner. Besides our red zone woes and some frustrating playcalling I've seen about what I've expected from the Bills today. EJ doesn't look like he'll be able to carry the team but he looked good enough that I think we can win with him.
Tell me why Sammy....

No doubt it does but Josh Gordon led the league in receiving playing in only 14 games with Brandon Weeden throwing to him.
