I think most of us recognize what is going on. The team is getting fed up with EJ and it is affecting their play. We've seen this over and over for 14 years. It's why there is a culture of losing. Frustration from poor QB play snowballs.
So Watkins sucks because EJ does? Got it.
-
They were both marginal calls. I really don't think he was shooting for his knees...just lunging for sacks. I can't envision any scenario where the opposing team wouid want to try to knock EJ out of a game and then have to switch their gameplan for a veteran QB who might actually be able to hit wide open receivers 2/3 of the time.
What's the point of hitting open receivers if they just drop the ball?

I was proud of EJ today.ast week the pressure rattled him and he played awful all game. Yes he left plays out there, but the kid got knocked around stood strong and delivered some quick balls and the WRs didn't help bail him out. This game is as much on Ej as it is the OL and WRs. The kid made the adjustment for his biggest issue and his young wr corp did little to nothing to help him out. I think posters are underestimating the beating the kid took.
Agreed. And many posters on here will call this an EJ apologists thread, which it's not. No one is giving him a pass. However Watkins has been garbage the last 2 games and yet no one is noticing.

Today's game was. There were issues all around, but today was him at 1, 2 and 3 of the biggest issues.
He wouldn't have been 1, 2 or 3 if 4, 5 and 6 were worth a damn.
Our star rookie receiver couldn't catch a cold today.
By the same standard by which QB is measured, we now need to consider drafting a #1 receiver next year.

Spiller and Fred. Those are the only offensive players that can walk off the field with their head held high. Manuel was bad, but the rest of the O sure didn't help him. The OLine sucked, the receivers REALLY sucked and the Chandler is terrible. Mike Williams dropped a beautiful pass, Sammy had the ball hit him right in the hands unfortunately a few times(he's been terrible the last 2 weeks, TD or not) I guess he still isn't trying. Robert Woods looked lost a few times.
Sorry to break it but WR is not a strength.
If Stevie had dropped those same passes this board would be back logged.
The whole offense makes me sick, coaching and all. While everyone sits here and blames EJ(myself included) they need to look at sorry ass Watkins, Williams and the rest of them.

Maybe the receivers were upset about their stone hands and their inability to turn their heads around. Not excusing Manuel but the receivers were terrible and couldn't make a play to save their damn lives. Say all you want about Manuels inaccuracy and you'll be right but he at least made a couple of plays. Not sure why the WRs, TEs and the horrid O line are getting passes.
-
Bill I agree with all your assessments but you forgot how terrible out receivers were today. EJ, as bad as he was laid a beautiful pass in to MW hands and Watkins dropped at least 3 passes. BTW Chandler is absolutely awful.

We match up well. We win tomorrow.

Cannot believe the lack of respect for Levitre from this board.
Haha
I was waiting for someone to say that. This board lost their minds when we let him go. So much for TSW armchair GMs.

Tool- Lateralus
Uses the Fibonacci sequence both lyrically and musically.
Maynard James Keenan and Justin Chancellor put that together impressively.

Baynes?!? Seriously, Baynes?!? WTF?!?!
What's wrong with Baynes?

Marty and whoever

I think it's interesting how ESPN is going after the NFL for domestic abuse but barely a peep about Hope Solo.

I love SJ13.
-
That usual ends up being a problem.
I think we match up well against the Texans.

I don't understand. I really don't see the Bills losing this game. I'm more confident about this game than I have been about any game in a while.

Anyone who is turning this into an EJ thread is a crusader. Tannehill has nothing to do with EJ. Two seperate subjects.
-
Matt Moore is a much better QB than Tannehill
-
Lots of talk here on S Florida radio about Mr. Tannehill getting benched.
Where's Buffalo Barbarian?

Oh boy! Another EJ thread!!! It's know it all time kids, gather 'round!

anyone else notice the play to the endzone early on he didn't go up at all for? nearly picked and he just stayed planted as the cb leaped for it and got in front of him....also didn't dive for the low pass, later didn't even look for the crossing route on 4rth down, then the admitted garbage time play....I don't care about the last one but the early ones really cost us, that was 2 drives that didn't get extended and a missed TD.
Ding ding ding. I stated this in another thread. I like Sammy, his work ethic by all accounts is awesome but as much as people want to blame EJ, Watkins really made this team worse yesterday.
He seemed scared out there. And I couldn't care less if he was scared because of EJs throws. The Bills invested quite a lot in Watkins and he's been widely touted, he needs to act like a professional. When he gets to be a top tier WR and he takes a play off here or there I'll be a little less hard on him but again, he's got an awful lot to prove. I really like him and loved the pick but one thing I won't be okay with is lack of effort. I'm hoping the coaches feel the same, I hope he apologizes to the team in a meeting and I hope he spends more time with Fred Jackson, who plays his heart out regardless of the score or injury.
-
Why not take a play off (in disgust) when your quarterback cannot get you the ball, even when you're wide open.
Absolutely the worst attitude a player can have, ESPECIALLY A ROOKIE who's done nothing. I'm glad he owned up to it but action is where it's at. He can own up all he wants, let's see if his attitude changes. The only way we'll now is if he starts leaving it all out on the field.
-
Watkins looked lost and confused yesterday from what I saw. He looked disoriented.
I'm not giving him a pass, he's a rookie and he's accomplished absolutely nothing in this league. He should be out there busting his ass on every play. He's not Randy Moss, he's not Megatron, he's not anybody special... YET. He's earned no right to take plays off. I didn't see Fred taking plays off at the end of the game. That attitude is infectious, if he wants to be a leader he needs to start acting like one. I hope Fred and Wood pull this kid aside and give him a verbal ass whooping.
BTW it's his JOB to catch passes and he gets payed nicely to do his job, and when he doesn't do his job he has 53 guys to let down. I could care less if the pass was inaccurate. YOU PLAY BALL, people are counting on you. People that bust their ass.
-
Bell and Julio Jones alone would beat me
Man you never know. I had Jordy, Welker and Megatron last year score 100 points alone in a game. You still have 3 very good players going tomorrow night. I'm not counting any chickens.
Why is the rest of the offense getting a pass?

You watched a game where EJ had time? What universe are you in? The game the rest of us saw EJ was on his back within 2 or 3 seconds when he wasn't escaping the rush. The game the rest of us watched saw WRs drop multiple passes.
Again for those who live in another universe, and some of you do. I am not making excuses for EJ, he was terrible. Not sure if people are bad at reading comprehension or what but I clearly stated that more than once. Put down the Labatts and re read.
