  1. Because pulling a handful of stats to convince us RW is? is as good as? will be better than? Tom !@#$ing Brady...that's not completely absurd. Not in the slightest.
  2. and to take it a step further, another key component ignored by those who want to back up the Brinks for RW: paying the core players--particularly on defense--that had as much--or, if you ask me, more--to do with their success over the last three years than he did
  3. Or you could just do a google search for virtually all sports coverage from the end of the NFC Divisional game between Dallas and Green Bay until kickoff of the NFC Championship game.
  4. For you to speak so matter-of-factly about this suggests that you have been ignoring the countless objections to this point scattered throughout this conversation.
  5. The best QB's are great at running, as a supplement to their passing attack. This in now way counters anything I've said. For RW, his running game is superior to his passing attack. This can't be disputed.
  6. Yeah, I'm with you on Manuel. It's hard to argue just how awful he looked against SD and HOU last year. Frankly, I think there are two sets of fools in the Manuel debate: those who say he's unequivocally hopeless, and those who say his success is inevitable. The former far out number the latter. In fact, I'm not even sure the latter exists. But the guy is so shrouded in mystery, that anyone who thinks his fate is sealed is kidding themselves.
  7. ...and when your team finishes first, second and second in rush attempts during your tenure. Who cares!? How about the people who have to pay him AS WELL as all the guys on the other side of the ball who have made his job a million times easier than you're suggesting it was! The guys who have DEMONSTRATED that they're elite.
  8. You're coming across as one of those "I just don't get soccer" Americans who we all know is really just a "I just don't want to get soccer" American. I don't want to think that's the case, but if it is, just own it. Nobody says you have to like soccer, it's entirely up to you.
  9. You said the game should be rigidly timed, like Americans are used to. I mentioned baseball, fine. But what you're getting at here in your complaints about 'loosey goosey' timing methods is a complaint about the essence of the game. If you don't like it, okay. But it's part of the game. The rules of the game are written such that they're entirely up to interpretation. That's sort of the point. And different leagues interpret and enforce them differently, breeding different styles of play and different strategies country to country. That's part of the game. If you don't like it, fine. But you might as well be complaining about offsides.
  10. There seems to be a fundamental disconnect between people making this argument and others--like me--that believe that a number one defense and a top three rush attack had far more to do with those SB appearances than RW. The same should be said about BB in his first few years, which is exactly why their arcs are the same...but only up until three years since BB has played seven years on top of that, and demonstrated an indisputable mastery of the QB position at the NFL level. You may think RW has done this already. I do not.
  11. Please show me where I said he never will. It's really not that hard to follow. You think he should be paid as if development were inevitable, everyone else believes that precedent doesn't exist.
  12. That question does literally nothing to counter anything anyone you're trying to counter has been saying.
  13. No one is saying that. That's the whole !@#$ing point.
  14. Flacco has had all of his best performances in the playoffs, not least of which were en route to a SB win. He was damn-near single-handedly willing his team to victory. AGAIN--I don't think anyone believes the Seahags are winning games because of RW.
  15. Their career arcs are very similar in their first three years. RW--as has been said a thousand times in this thread--has not accomplished much as a QB. Big Ben is a first ballot hall of famer who will have shattered all of his franchise's QB records, if he hasn't already. We have no idea if RW can/will become the kind of passer Big Ben has evolved into. And in terms of who's more valuable to their respective team, take them both off the 2015 roster, and the Steelers easily lose five games they would have won, at least. I do not think the same is true for RW and the Seahags.
  16. Big Ben is a significantly better QB. How's that?
  17. um? baseball?
  18. Cowherd sounds like a person doing a cartoony impression of someone on the radio.
  19. 56 RT's on that one and it doesn't take ONE screen grab from ONE guy to surface
  20. they got off on the wrong foot and harbaugh had zero interest in salvaging it "jim you're an intense guy, right? i mean that's what everyone says about you. is there ever a tim when you're NOT intense?" "well good morning, colin, great to be here, how are you today?" or something to that effect
