Anyone else think Ed Oliver could be on the trading block this off-season? I can see it happening. I think McDermott and Beane know Oliver has underperformed and want to get bigger upfront.

They did not give him a ringing endorsement yesterday in the PC.

He’s listed at 6’1 287, and I think the defense needs that 6’2 320lb DT in the middle of the defense.

I think they know there is going to be a lot of expectations next year and have to get agressive with their FA’s and draft picks and maybe getting rid of 1-2 players that haven’t played to the level they want.

I’m not sure what his trade value is, probably a 3rd or 4th rounder? He has hasn’t been terrible, just think he’s not a fit as a 1 tech taking on double teams.

I just think we have to make 1-2 trades this year to make the jump our fan base and front office knows has to be made. The Rams did it two years ago, the Eagles did it this year, the 49ers did it this year, it’s time to trade draft picks for proven players.

Imagine what AJ Brown would have done for our offense like it did to Philly’s this year.

It may be like a Marcel Dareas deal, where we take a 6th just for someone to take his contract.

I like the idea of drafting DL early and often. I just don't like the players.. or even understand the scouting. The jury is still out on GR. I think he can still be a star, but he still was an ambiguous college DE. But they draft AJE and have him change his physique and technique. And Basham was just a wasted pick imo. There is nothing about his play at WFU that suggested he had any potential to be an impact player in the NFL. I think they place too much emphasis on the character and work ethic (which are also important to a degree), but then you get stuck with "high motor" guys that don't have the dynamic ability to matchup.

Exactly, Basham was a relentless player that never quit on a play in college but he wasnt a player that blew up a backfield and change the momentum of a game.

I have never been a big fan of McClappy but even I do not think he deserves to be fired.

The problem with this team is we got beat at the line of scrimmage. Our offensive line is holding back both Josh and the RBs. Our defensive line has had issues stopping the run and got bullied in the run game today.  Pretty simple to me.

    Just my two cents.

Yes you build a team from the inside out, no investments in the Oline and our Dline pics for the most part haven't been successful

    McDermott is terrible situationally.

Beane has consistently whiffed on early round draft picks.

we don’t have any difference makers on any level of defense for a defensive head coach lead team (besides a 34 year old 140 million dollar DE with a bad knee)

you can’t miss on that many draft picks and expect to have a good team

#17 is so good he makes up for a lot of weaknesses on this team until you play a team who can expose them

6 years going on 7 and the o line, d line are soft. We don’t have any playmakers/difference makers besides Allen and diggs and there’s no salary cap space

This isn’t a one off season fix. Teams in our own division are getting better. We’re going to take a step back before we move forward

I also firmly believe we let the best coach on the staff left for NY and we’re going to feel the backlash for years to come

Fire McDermott and he will have a head coaching job before he exits the building.

People who are quick to criticize ask this question. Remove Allen and what have they done that is impressive? Is there a scheme? Is there winning when your qb is out? Unique capabilities? How often do we our coach other teams?

Im not for lighting the torches and firing everyone, however I do think its foolish not to have a discussion with Frank Reich and Byron Leftwich on a OC position, Even Anthony Lynn or Greg Roman would be an upgrade over Dorsey.

The Bills can clear a lot of money by restructuring contracts this offseason, however if they want to trade for someone like DeAndre Hopkins or Brandin Cooks they will have to find someone to take on Ed Oliver's contract as well.    We wont be able to keep Oliver and sign another big money wide receiver.

That said, Michael Thomas just restructured his contract to make it easier for the Saints to move away from him in the offseason.   If the Saints dont move him off their roster by March 17th they will owe him 32 million dollars next year, something I dont imagine they want to do.

With Thomas and Beckham both coming off of injuries and playing very little the last two seasons it's possible they have to take a one year prove it deal, hypothetically something in the range of 7-8 million dollars, doable for the Bills.

If we have to go the route of taking a chance on a gifted but tarnished wideout, which one would you prefer?  If neither, what other option do you see for the Bills?

Offensive lineman and an Offensive Coordinator that can develop and use a run game and emphasize high percentage passes. If Eds contract is anywhere near what a "Big Money" wide receiver's is considering he hasn't done anything to justify giving him a big contract Bean should be tarred and feathered.

Joe Bus (whom I'm a fan of), in his weekly observations athletic article, said Burrow had surpassed Josh Allen.

Now, you won't ever see me denigrate Joe Burrow. Awesome QB, and it's possible he is a better franchise QB than Allen. But using yesterday as the basis for that observation is an absurdity.

In the regular season Burrow and Allen had the same amount of TD passes (Josh added a bunch of rushing TDs).

This is who Burrow was throwing to:

    Ja'Marr Chase (generational talent)

    Tee Higginns (Borderline #1 Talent)

Tyler Boyd (possibly the best slot in the NFL)

    Hayden Hurst (top 5 TE)

PLUS - Joe Mixon, a premier RB

    This is Josh Allen's cast

    Stefon Diggs - elite WR

Gabe Dabis - wildly inconsistent, only caught 50% of his targets

Cornucopia of sadness at the slot

Dawson Knox - a TE the OC didn't really want in the game plan, but otherwise a top 5 TE

PLUS - the run game, and I'll let that stand on it's own

This is just unfair to Allen. Again is Burrow supremely talented, and is possibly better than Allen? Possibly! Using yesterday's game as evidence? Because Joe could simply operate the offense in a fairly easy way with an outstanding run game vs Allen having to play superman in overcoming horrible OLine play, and a hugely average WR corps, and an unused run game?

That is the hottest of hot takes

Also our patchwork secondary against those WRs doesn't help. No Hyde, Poyers been banged up, Tres not back 100% yet, a few rookies, and an average Journeyman in Dane Jackson. Taron Johnson might be the only bright spot.

That’s what I’m waiting on. I wish the NFL would settle this because I’m itching to ditch DirecTv but don’t want to pull the trigger before I know for sure they are out.

Ive "suspended" mine before, meaning you keep all the equipment and temporarily cancel your subscription and not pay the monthly bill until the following season or until the contract is settled and you could just cancel at that point.

Jerry just had a meltdown in Miami very upset with the way Houston is playing and kicked the gatorade container over on sideline.

I see it as possible that he could ask for his release with the intent to sign with a contender

or we could call Houston and see if they have interest in doing that (since the front offices know each other well)

He does have 8 sacks this year and clearly we’re thin on the Edge at the moment

    Thoughts?

If he thought they where going to be a contender when he signed with them he may have a serious case of CTE

Our run game has been ***** for years. No consistency and Allen running has been the only real consistent bright spot, which isn't enough.  I still think OL is the biggest problem. Is it blocking schemes or just lack of top OL talent. RB's have also been underwhleming but I can't tell if its lack of vision... but the OL definitely is not making consistent holes

I think some of it is that our OLine is better at pulling and using athleticism than road grading and Singletary is more comfortable running behind road graders between the tackles. I would like to them start committing to Cook more he's fast enough to hit the edge, a better receiver, and a bigger threat to hit the home run. Singletary has done nothing to merit the amount of touches he's getting.
