  1. Really no Circumstances???? You do realize that if Price and Reed were cut today they might not get signed by anyone and they are our starting WR's

Reed would be signed in five minutes...what are you talking about? He is very solid for a #3. He had a good year. Marv did right by extending him.

  2. From Peter King's 10 things I think I think summary of the Owner's meeting...

    5. I think this is my Leftover Scene of the Week from the league meetings: Wednesday morning, around 8:50, just off the back of the lobby, sat a cadre of Buffalo Bills braintrust -- owner Ralph Wilson, GM Marv Levy, coach Dick Jauron, and vice president of business administration Jim Overdorf. "We've got to be able to stop the run,'' Wilson said to the group as I walked past. "Are we going to be able to stop the run?'' I didn't wait to hear the reply, but I thought if I were Jauron, I wouldn't say no

I think we know where the owner's priority is.....the front Seven...

You know, I've written some nasty things about Ralph, but one thing I have to say about him this offseason...he sounds serious about winning now! He has spent money (too vigorously in my opinion), and he has made it clear to Marv and Dick where to target their efforts. After last season, he has made it clear he wanted to run the football and stop the run from the very beginning. I know it seems obvious to us (and to Marv), but he has shown he wants to get it done (which he hasn't always done in the past). The old man is still lucid and has all his marbles straight. Nobody should make jokes about the old man's clarity of mind anymore especially that circus of a sport's station.

  3. love your turner trade...I'm keeping that

    1. I gotta go with Okoye at 12 or trade down

If I trade down, I go with Timmins or Beason as linebacker...I love Meachem, but I think these are very underrated linebackers...especially Beason.

Round 2 I'm looking at Jonathan Wade at cornerback (at least one Tennessee Guy.)

Round 3 ustin Durant of Hampton...another linebacker

Round 3 Corey Anderson fullback from Tennessee

Round 4 Adrian Battle out of Houston

Late round pick Zak DeOssie MLB from Brown...I'm not sure he'll last that long.

Not bad at all...I almost put Battle down myself. But, I don't think the Bills' Brass is going to draft another DT. I think Walker trade clinched that scenario.

So if you plug Meachem back at one with the rest of your draft, I say that's one helluva draft.

  4. Understood. I realize this is a fun little speculation exercise. Therefore, I will also speculate that the Bills do in fact trade for Turner, and he plays three very productive but unspectacular seasons for the Bills, averaging about 1100 yards and 7 TD's per season. Bills fans are fed up because Turner does not like chicken wings, and when he mentions that he would love to play for the Bears since he is from Chicago, that is the last straw. The Bills trade him to Cleveland for a 4th rounder in 2010 and a 7th rounder in 2011.

Man. Did you put a damper on that little transaction.

I think Turner has a chance to be an exciting player and can be better than 1110 yard back, although I would take that right now.

  5. So Willis, who was a 1st round pick and proven NFL starter, is traded away to Baltimore for two 3rd's and a 7th...And the Bills go ahead and trade two 3rd's and a 6th for an unproven backup RB who was a 5th round pick?

Yes, that is what I'm saying because right now SD wants a first. Maybe it will be turn out to be one 3 or a 2. Who knows? I'm just having fun with this. Besides, I think Turner is considered a proven back. He has played enough to show what he is all about..5.3 ypc.

  6. Realistic yes........my only disagreement is the WR pick. We are deep at WR, so I dont see one being taken that early.....However, I could see them taking one 4th round on...

Yes, but Meachem can be another big time threat along side Lee.

Also, we're deep at the #3 receiver spot, we have no real #2.

    Evans/Meachem/Reed/Price/Roscoe. Oh boy!

  7. I like your last pick........you must know something I know about that Akron kid!

As for WR, that would be a shock if they took one first round.

Question, why has Hughes dropped so far?

I think Hughes will be drafted anywhere from 65 to 85. But, I'm no expert, believe me...I'm just having a little fun.

BTW, I went against my hunch that Marv only drafts D in the first round because he traded down and was not able to get Poz. So shockingly, he took WR which I think with Turner and Meachem, this would be a killer offense along with our revamped O line. Plus he shored up lb and cb. Pretty good draft if I must say so myself. Is it realistic, I have no clue.

  8. ...Predict our draft for the first three rounds. Show some gonads and take a chance---

    I say:

    1) Bills trade Baltimore's three, next year's Baltimore three and next year's six for Michael Turner right before the draft.

    2) Trade down to GB's #16 and get the extra thirds back for this year and next year

1- Draft WR Robert Meachem (that's right--WR! He will make an impact this year at some point.)

2- Draft LB Justin Durant out of Hampton (Bills' love small schools...might be #3 best linebacker)

3- Draft CB Daymeion Hughes (Cal player maybe ex-Cal coach Marv likes)

3- Draft Andy Alleman OG (sleeper pick)

Marv now fills all the thin positions with two trades.

  9. Schobel only 243, while Kelsay and Denney are around 260-265.

No wonder he gets crushed in the running game. It's not the tackles, my friends, its the ends. Not only that, how many times did we see them take themselves out of the play by rushing hard from the outside and leaving their gap wide open. It's not just weight, it's scheme and discipline within the scheme. Schoebel needs to gain some weight fast.

I'm glad to see Crowell up to a very solid 246 lbs and Ellison inching his way to 230.

  10. You mean the RG and/or RT is up for grabs. As like last year the Bills might want to get their best 5 on the field and there's question if Walker is best suited for RG or RT. I still feel we overpayed for him. I fully expect it to be Duke Preston's to make it at RG if Walker ends up at RT. If Walker ends up at RG than Pennington should be the favorite at RT. Unless Butler steps his game up. In terms of backups that would leave Pennington and Whittle to be almost assured spots as primary back ups and suspect Butler will be groomed into a swing G/T unless we draft someone in the draft who turns out better. In terms of Long Snapper, keep Schneck as why mess with a good thing? As since he's been added Mooreman's been to two Pro Bowls and Lindell's been at his best.

Something tells me Brad Butler is going to push for the starting R guard position. I think Walker is too tall for Guard as JP will not be able to see over him.

  11. I understand what you're saying. But! I surely hope that signing one good free agent lineman Dockery is all where are going to do to solidify our offensive line. That means we will have the same line we had last year, plus one good guard. Walker is a huge question mark, and that is saying it in the nicest way possible.

What do you know who is good or not? These guys watched film until their eyes bled and you just decided only Dockery is good. Walker is still an upgrade, and so is Whittle. Gandy, Pennington are out of the starting line-up and will make solid depth. I'm sure Ralph, McNally, and Marv didn't just throw out $25MM to some guy who's a dork.

Stop the whining... we have an above average line now with a dominating left side and a more than adequate center. JP will shine and the running game will start to take advantage of the better run-blocking.

  12. Simply circle April 28th on your calender, and continue checking it EVERY day, and eventually you'll notice how soon it will arrive!! Before you can blink, Peterson or Lynch will be having their very first news conference, with Marv beaming off to the side.

Marv will not draft a runningback in the first round especially when he has so many defensive needs. Runningback is the easiest and quickest position to fill especially as a rookie. Now saying that, if Marv is thinking of moving up to the latter stages of the first round, then he may go RB first and then pull-in a Poz or David Harris.

  13. That's one thing we never discuss, and maybe one that plays into Marv's surprises. Would you draft a great player who will only pout about playing in Buffalo, or would you rather have a guy who knows his job is to play football and not worry about where to party? It has to be a factor.

    PTR

ABSOLUTELY. That's why I was extraordinarily dumbfounded by the number of people that blasted the Bills' management for not drafting Matt Leinart last year. The fact is I would have bet a year's salary that he would have held out a la John Elway with the then-Baltimore Colts.

Again, this is part of the "character" issue Marv talks about. If you really want to play football for the game itself and not just the money and fame, and are thankful for being blessed to make it this far, you don't care who drafts you.

  14. Well if there was any doubt that these 'analysts' aren't professional enough to get their heads out of their own biases, this oughta do it. This is just more lazy journalism. When the Bills signed Holcomb nobody out there used the word coup. ESPN and the rest of them all yawned. Now it's years later and Holcomb got beaten out by a guy 10 years younger (ish) and NOW it's a coup?

Ridiculous. And these guys get paid.

You notice how the media always say how suddenly great the players bills traded away are...but when they played for us they never had anything to say about them.

It is just out and out bias. It's like sub-conscious racism. They can't help themselves.

  15. I don't know about anyone else out there but with all of these holes to fill, I think this is the most depressing off-season I can ever remember. The gloom and doom is here and I don't think any drafted player will help that. Let's face it people...The Buffalo Bills are YEARS away from even making the playoffs.

Can you think of a worse offseason in recent memory?

Trading Spikes is the nail in the coffin for me. I understood the McGahee trade because you were going to lose him anyway but Spikes is a warrior and getting a 4th rounder or something like that for someone who pours his heart and soul into every game and practice just makes me sick to my stomach.

Maybe in person you are an ice person, but with the advantage of anonymity on this board, I have to say you are one fukn aszhole.

Thanks for stopping by and lose your password on the way out, moron

  16. Wouldnt mind this although I would rather have a RB but he will be gone.

I hope Marv does not trade down. We are already a young team and there is only so many rookies a team is going to need. We need to get more value not more quantity. Jimmy Johnson approach doesn't work for more than a year or two.

If Marv is convinced Crowell can play the middle, he may trade down and grab Poz. He might be the guy Marv likes. Move down 5 or 6 picks and you grab another second..then grab your rb and dt. Nice.

Now we have two threes to play with.
