  1. Nah, its much more fun watching you freak out and meltdown.

I've got no problem with you not liking the McKelvin pick, but at least come up with some concrete reasons about his game that you dont like. calling the pick a disaster just because we picked position X is asinine.

As for the ellis pick, i love it. gives us a nice solid rotation at DE, and he;s got some real size. i hope he's starting in a year or 2.

If you see later in the post, I admit to exaggerating. I tend to do that to make my point. Maybe it doesn't translate well on a board, I just don't understand why people have to insult others because they disagree. Obviouly, like some others, I'm just venting until rational thought takes over. I am starting to like this draft.

Why do you take pleasure in watching other Bills' fans suffer?

  2. Chris Ellis

Compares To: SIMEON RICE, ex-Tampa Bay, Denver, Indianapolis...Ellis isn't a natural end like the former first-round pick from Illinois. But he has an explosive initial step off the snap and the quickness to take a wide loop and chase down the quarterback. He has the ability to clear his feet and move laterally down the line, good hand punch to control isolated blockers and is a good leverage player vs. the run. Like Rice, Ellis seems more concerned about getting to the quarterback than doing the "little things" to improve his overall game. With his foot speed, he could see action as a linebacker in a 3-4 alignment. He will need time to develop needed muscle mass and bulk to be a down lineman at the next level. Still, there are inconsistencies in his game, most notably a motor that is not always running, along with some poor judgment, both on and off the field. Virginia Tech has failed to produce NFL-quality at defensive end since Bruce Smith in 1985 (Darryl Tapp of Seattle is another on the rise), but with his athletic ability and quickness, Ellis is worth a look early in the draft even if he's not first-round material

Kelsay will be packing his bags mid-season. :censored:

  3. No - I'm not going to insult you. Just because you don't agree with a pick does not make it a disaster. The guy is a top rated player. Not your favorite but certainly not a disaster.

Good--thank you. I tend to exaggerate. You're right, it's not a disaster--especially if we fill our needs with real value the rest of the way. When people respond rationally, I will show immense respect from here on. When they insult, I go to the other extreme. Do you like this pick??

  4. Apparently he has a "low motor" and is a durability issue with a wrist problem or something.

Sure as hell didn't show it in what I've seen with him, I agree with the pick.

Mel just said he played well after the shoulder injury in 06. He should be part of a rotation and helps the pass rush. This kid should have asome impact right away in the rotation.

    Lets get our center!!!

  5. Drafting a WR like Hardy seems very similiar to a Plaxico Burress. We even picked up Kawika Mitchell in free agency from the Giants and our offenses mirror each other's philosophy minus the production but I believe we'll get there. Our QBs are pocket QBs, not scramblers but I think that we actually have a much better secondary compared to them and our WRs should be a deeper position than theirs in time. Our defense, especially the DL, is rapidly mirroring New York's also. Now, they just won the Super Bowl and we got a quite a ways to go but if I had to compare our blueprint to a team then I think that the Giants are the team that we are modeling ourselves after more than any other team in the league.

I'm not sure if I'm presenting this properly but maybe someone can elaborate better than me. Thanks.

    Maybe the Giants of 1974.

  6. I think Jauron said it best in the press conference. If he catches the ball, that's a bonus. If he gets his hands on it and defenses the pass, he's done what we ask him to do. I am skeptical about his ability to catch, but his ability to play the position should not be in question.

Yes, how many times did we see Bills' back drop easy interceptions that would have won the game or turned the momentum. This pick is terrible. As good as Winfield was, he was frustrating to watch.

  7. Why don't you just TRY to be happy? Try your best. Trust that a staff of highly paid professionals with years in the league, having spent 16 months evaluating this class, knows *just a bit* more than you do.

    Try.

If you responded that way the first time instead of being smart, I would have taken your advice and respected your opinion. I know they know a LOT MORE than I'll ever know. Isn't one of the the purposes of this board is to vent...afterall, we are Bills fans. If we can't vent, who can?

  8. I sense Mike being gone soon....

Hey Mike....calm down man. No need for anybody to get thrown out on draft day right? Warning a mod isnt a good idea.

Thanks for your concern John. The fact is I won't tolerate people who tell me to stop posting becaue tehy don't like what I say, and then any mod who warns me for responding in retaliation. If they want to kick me off, I won't give them the satisfaction of caring one bit.

  9. McKelvin?

Its an OK pick. He's better than what the Bills have, no question, but given how conservatively the Bills always play their CBs, and the fact they never re-sign them, AND the fact that I've seen more dynamic passing attacks at the local high school, this isn't a pick I can get overly excited about. Hopefully they can find some help offensively later in this draft. I'm not that optimistic, unfortunately.

Have i mentioned how much I hate this pick?
