Perhaps you didn't get the memo? Nobody is scared of people like you calling them bigots, or homophobe, or whatever other psychobabble inspired name anymore. People like you have used up your quota of name-calling, which means you calling people names is cliched. You'll have to take your names you want to call somewhere else, because we are full up here. If I called him a bigot, it would matter, because I don't whore that term out every day as a way to silence people I can't beat in an argument.

An Important Speech

Nope, I didn't vote for McCain or Obama, because neither deserved my vote, period. I don't believe in "lesser of 2 douchebags". A douchebag doesn't deserve my vote. If you put douchebags in front of me, then I will call them douchebags and stay away. I said: "Obama will fail because I don't buy his phony, centrist mantra, because I know he is a leftist, and, because he hasn't ever had to make tough decisions in a pressurized environment". I was right. That doesn't make McCain good. This is not a zero-sum game. Only bad leaders are not good at setting priorities. They may be leaders, but they suck at the job. I am saying as clearly as I can: stop saying/doing stupid, obviously hackish, things every single day. He's not "thinking" before he talks. Which means his people are not doing their jobs, or they don't know how. He is pulling a John Kerry, giving the Republicans a gift every other day->"enemies", "Republicans sit in back", and that was just last week -

One sided? You do understand that I have only worked for, freezing my ass off btw, and voted for, Democrats? Right? The problem with the Democratic party is people like you. There was a time when Democrats could claim to be more knowledgeable than Republicans. That ended in the late 80s. Back then Democrats actually were serious intellectuals, had put the work in, and could demonstrate their knowledge at the drop of a hat. The people like you running around now, blindly supporting whatever anybody says as long as their is a "D" after their name, without putting the work in to honestly understand it, and grasping at whatever straw("The war is lost/the surge won't work") is served up to them each day, have permanently killed off the perceived intellectual advantage Democrats used to enjoy. Edit: the funny part is although you may be able to read the words that I have posted as to why I want capital left alone, there is practically no chance that you understand why, never mind formulate an effective counter-argument. -

OCinBuffalo replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
You don't talk about changing the curtains, when the house is on fire. As I said 60 days BEFORE Obama got elected, and have been saying ever since: the man has not proven he is a leader. Leaders know how to set priorities PROPERLY, and then to convince others why their order is correct. Obama hasn't even shown he is aware of this basic tenet of leadership, never mind if he can actually follow it. He has a lot of work to do in the next 2 years. He has squandered all of his goodwill, and most of his respect and credibility in the first 2. I'm not saying he can't fix things, but he better get his ass in his office, start working with less talking. He is way behind, and spending any more time saying stupid things, and calling people "enemy", is approaching Nixon, not solutions. He needs to grow up and get to work. How many times do I have to tell you? Karl Rove personally assigned me the "prove pBills is an idiot using his own posts" assignment today. So, you would accept it if MythBusters told you that man-made Global WarmingTM was a scam, or not? -

OCinBuffalo replied to 1billsfan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Come on, I was hoping to see if he would even know enough to correct this. (I put these exaggerations in this all the time, to see who I am dealing with, and usually DC_Tom is the one ruining my fun. He is a nerd, don't be like him. ) Because I don't want capital to be taxed away and wasted and/or the remaining capital to sit on the sidelines so that it isn't taxed away as well? After the 1 trillion stimulus, and it's results(FAIL), clearly we should leave capital where it is, and let the people it truly belongs to apply it properly. I tried to keep this as simple as I could. Let's see if you are going to keep using your posts to keep confirming my "pBills is an idiot" Karl Rove talking point. -

Yes, during the 1.5 year health care debate ALL we heard was Democrats pleading for Obama to focus on Jobs. It was the Republicans and Independents that demanded we focus on health care. You are making this way too easy for me. No, OC is still waiting for whether you would accept the results of the Mythbusters doing a show on Global WarmingTM. As I have said, I rolled out of my bed this morning and lo and behold, there was a text message from Karl Rove telling me to use your own posts to prove your doltery. I am replying right now with "mission accomplished". -

OCinBuffalo replied to 1billsfan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Ok, then why are we taxing them any different than anybody else? And, why is it that only 50% of the public pay taxes at all? Here's your opportunity to avoid doltery. Do not FAIL. Yes, us Republicans have a secret undernet that tells us what to post. "Demonstrate that pBills is a complete dolt, by using his own posts" was assigned to me today. -

Yes, clearly this statement disproves my assertion that you have no idea what you are saying. Yes, I received the "point out the fact the pBills is an idiot, who doesn't understand basic economic principles, and can't defend a position because he isn't capable of having one" instructions in a text message on my Droid this very morning. Sorry to disappoint, but it came from Karl Rove this time, instead of Palin. Want to find out? It should be funny. -

Not really, because you don't seem to understand that: redistribution of wealth and progressively taxing income, then taking that income and spending it on low-income people, as you have described being "for" above, are the exact same thing. Once again, you demonstrate that you have no clue what you are talking about. But, yeah, LA and I are the "crazy" people here. Keep telling yourself that, instead of dealing with the reality that is coming....oh wait, that's today! Deal with the reality that is today. Enjoy! Stop pretending your mindless babble somehow represents a "position", and that I am actually arguing against that "position". You don't have a clue what you are talking about, and I am simply mocking you. -
Premise 1: Obamacare cannot stand on its own merits. While there are good ideas, they are vastly outnumbered by bad ones. Rational people know this is true. Irrational people will try to waste our time, but the smart Democrats know that this thing has the potential to keep doing them damage every day, all the time. Premise 2: Due to these flaws, other concepts will have to serve as "blockers" for it. Premise 3: Conventional wisdom = "Obama should have focused on the economy, not health care" So what should the Democrats do to stop the health care bleeding, and possibly turn it around and into a positive for them? 1. Cue up talking point #1: "Anybody who focuses on health care now, and not on the economy, is repeating mistakes" etc. Therefore, Republicans can't talk about repealing health care, because they should be focusing on the economy. 2. Cue up talking point #2: "You can't criticize Obama for not focusing on the economy, and then not focus on the economy yourself. The fact is that Obamacare was necessary..." blah, blah. Therefore, Obama didn't actually make a mistake, and even if he did, Republicans are making the same mistake now, so it wasn't a big mistake. Marginalize, deflect, repeat. 3. If #1 can be sustained, the Dems will be able to delay final judgment on this until 2012, or perhaps even longer. This has the added bonus of placating the idiot Democrats who think Obamacare has nothing wrong with it, as you can say "hey we are delaying so that people have enough time to see that you are right". 4. If #2 works, then Obama gains cover on this issue, while at the same time marginalizing his attackers. 5. If all of this works, then we stop talking about the merits of the bill(content), and instead start talking about what we should be doing when(process). If the Democrats can successfully morph the discussion from content to process, Obamacare has a chance to live on. Remember this is political strategy, not common sense or decency or accountability strategy.

Yeah, so? How is that any different than "high speed rail"? It is a precisely fitting example, all the way down to the people that propose it keep the money, and then skip town as soon as it fails. Both are huge government boondoggles that will not be used by anyone and will end up creating a budget deficit for whichever government that implements them. Amtrak, while charging progressively higher rates(it used to be $36 from Philly to NY one way, all day. Now the cheapest you can get is $48 at 0 Dark Thirty) has never broke even. Everywhere public transportation has been proposed as a replacement, and not simply an alternative, to personal car travel, it has failed miserably. Why? Because this is not Europe, trains take too damn long to get places, and we like our friggin cars. Listen: I have literally poured money into public transportation. Hell I used to drop $72 on Amtrak every single day. I like using the train to get to the airport in most cities, not Chicago, but most cities. My transportation choices would make a Sierra club woman cream her jeans. But, that doesn't change the fact that most people don't do what I do, therefore they don't want to ride the bus/train to work(unless they are in Pittsburgh), and they want the freedom of simply being able to go shopping after work without hassle. -
Short term prediction: 1. House RCP already has the GOP taking 224 seats, not counting the 44 toss ups. This means that the low-end prediction is +45 seats. The average is 67, and the high end is 89. Just doing average is the second biggest change in history. I believe that it will be more like 75, which would set the record. I am backed up by the 15 point difference in the generic Congressional vote, which is also the highest in history. Oh, and dev/null's Moran candidate will lose, because I said so, and because, he's a Moran. The candidate, not dev/null. 2. Senate Perhaps nobody has considered the worst case scenario? A 50/50 split? Then we have Biden making decisions? Biden? WTF! Unfortunately, that is my prediction. It's the very worst thing that can happen, and this year, given the Sabres and the Bills, why wouldn't this happen as well? If this happens, I want to see a poll of how many people would support Hillary taking over for Biden. My guess is that you would see 60+% in favor. Long term prediction: Whichever party recognizes that the vast majority of people want: ...freedom, you know, the concept this country was founded on? I had written a bunch of other stuff here, but it all boils down to freedom...and freedom = smaller government that does not try to legislate their subjective "morality" that will be the party that dominates elections for the next 40 years. The party that supports leaving us the hell alone, in everything, will be dominant. The party that wants to "help" some people at the expense of others, or outlaw things that people are going to do anyway, or push fairy tales based on the wishes of special interests, or refuse to enforce the laws we already have, will be crushed.

Yes, the same people who keep being "victims" of their own webcams, that their parents bought, that they took their clothes off in front of, after being told by total strangers that they had nothing to worry about. It should be legal to tack-hammer people that push "cult of personality" candidates, and say things like "he has plenty of executive experience, just look at how he runs this campaign". -

Does the fact that this casts the Mythbusters and Bill Nye accurately, as TV personalities whose primary goal is entertainment, mean you would accept the Mythbuster's word automagically about Global WarmingTM? Perhaps Jamie and Adam should do a show on Global WarmingTM. -

Paris Hilton.... hehehe Remember that campaign commercial with Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and the other diva, Obama? Sad to say that guy was dead on. I believe it's the same guy who did demon sheep. (Funny, two posts about demon sheep in the same 5 minutes. Halloween carryover.) I don't remember 15 year old girls being allowed to vote. So why is he going after that demo? -

Peace: Observe. This is the "fun" and fun part: conner: Demonstrate and/or back up what you are saying. Show me one piece of information that I have ever posted, that I take very seriously, but that others should not take seriously, because it is either false, or irrelevant. (Peace? The actual fun part is now he will waste the next 4 hours looking for stuff that he won't find, and subsequently chew up TPS's bandwith. He is like a dog with a ball. But, throwing this the ball, with this dog, causes a lot more hilarity to ensue. Most people would suggest PMing this part, but, it's conner, so why bother?) -

Let's play a guessing Game! Who has spent: 15+ elections freezing their asses off standing around passing out cards at 7am then hanging out with the unions guys by the fire barrel, coming up with creative ways to terrorize the Republican's campaign and screwing with their signs, getting thrown out of 3 elections for above asshattedness, and then spending the rest of the day/night boozing, because we always win. - and - Who has spent: their time posting on a message board claiming to represent the views of the middle class and unions, when said person has spend 0 meaningful time understanding and working for either and whose "solutions" have only hurt the middle class, and the poor, while we are at it? Anyway, John Stewart is right, if unoriginal. Few of us spend our lives as strict liberals or conservatives. Generalizing as such is the domain of the immature. The only thing that matters to me is results. I am not signing up for FAIL, because you are going to call me islamophope, homophobe, bigot, etc. if I don't. That strategy is over. Time to move on. -

The facts are: you can't distinguish facts from opinions, so everything you don't like, even though often times is a fact, is "just an opinion", according to you. This means that your reality is distorted. I have no doubt that you honestly believe in your perceptions. But, that doesn't change the fact that they are often times patently ridiculous. This reality is what gets you into trouble here most of the time. Well, that, and Bill Nye of course.
