  1. The offensive coordinator. A QB can only do so much if the other players around him are not executing. He can't catch the ball for Evans, he can't block the guy for Villarial. He can not telegraph the pass, which is where he needs to improve, but it's Fairchilds job to get this unit to exectute better, not JP's. If you remember a while back in 87, a certain QB named Jim Kelly tried to get on his teammates about not executing, and we ended up with the Bickering Bills for the next year. The coaches are responsible for putting the players in a situation to succeed, and then each player needs to execute, so quit putting it all on the QB. It's an 11 man team on offense.
  2. Let's see what all the JP Bashers come up as to why he screwed up that drive. Don't know what else he could do. Some of these idiots calling for Craig Nall and moving the team. I swear to god I think my wife knows more about football than some of the folks on this board who proclaim to be Bills fans. Why can't people see QB is not our problem. It's the execution of getting the 11 people to work together, especially that damned offensive line in either opening some holes or protecting the QB. I know one thing, our offense needs to start utilizing the middle of the field. it has been a dimension that has been missing for too long. Nice to see some down the middle throws today. Come on Bills. Give us some hope going into the Bye week. I look for a lot of improvement from the offense, coming out of the bye. Hopefully JP can correct some of his mechanics (telegraphing passes)
  3. Don't know if it's his assistants or him, but when NE has the ball and it's going on 3rd down, you call time out or they waste another 20-30 seconds. Well Jauron let's 15-20 go, and then call's timeout. Plus, some of his challenges are just mind boggling. I didn't think for 1 sec that Maroney went out on that return, yet even with the folks upstairs looking at it a 2nd time, they still challenge. I'm starting to get a little concerned with the ability of this coaching staff to manage a game while it's happening. I think we can game plan with the best, but you also have to be able to manage the game as a coach, and so far we are not showing the ability to get it done. This is not his first stint as a head coach.
  4. Felser, that wasw Losman's fault too right. Holding the ball longer than .9 seconds. The QB has got to have the chance to look down field for god sakes. Our protection is pathetic.
  5. Just posted another similar topic within a couple minutes of yours. I don't think it has anything to do with coming from OBD, and more to do with Felser not being able to come up with anything better to write about. He got lazy in the days of RJ vs DF and figures talking about the QB always is a hot topic. I wouldn't mind criticism of JP, but Felser is just not accurate in referring to last week as a ghastly performance or fiasco. GO BILLS.
  6. I'm starting to get really tired of some of these idiotic media folks who try to single handedly blame JP as the reason we lost last weeks game, and act as if he blew the game last week. The Buffalo writers are getting to the point where they are sounding like the National Media who doesn't know anything about Buffalo. The Chicago game, he laid an egg, as well did the rest of the team. Last week, I thought he was one of the few players who at least tried to lift the flat a$$ Buffalo team and will them to a win. It would have been nice to see what they could do if the defense could have help detroit. Let's see, last weeks "ghastly performance". He completed 62% of his passes with a couple drops, had 2 touchdowns, 1 interception (which he took the blame for), 16 yards rushing (1 for a key first down), and 86 rating (all from NFL.com). While not awe inspiring, I will take that from my starting QB ANY WEEK. October Passing Rushing Fumbles GAMEDATE Opp RESULT GS Att Comp Pct Yds TD Int Rate Sac Yds Att Yds Avg Lg TD Fum Rec 10/01 MIN W 17-12 Yes 32 23 71.9 224 1 0 101.6 3 21 4 17 4.3 15 0 0 0 10/08 @CHI L 7-40 Yes 27 14 51.9 115 1 3 35.8 3 28 3 8 2.7 7 0 1 0 10/15 @DET L 17-20 Yes 34 21 61.8 207 2 1 86.3 5 50 3 16 5.3 8 0 1 0 Yet, according to Larry Felser (who sounds like he is on his let's ride a QB out town like he did with Flutie), JP had a ghastly performance, and it was a fiasco in Detroit. NOTE TO LARRY: It's a team game and it takes the whole team to play well to win. JP was running for his life a good portion of the game and for some reason we did not go to the shorter routes earlier in the game. Fact is, JP has had 1 horrendous game this year, in CHicago in which the whole team stunk up the Joint. Other than that he has performance reasonably well, albeit sporadic which is expected of someone who has not played very much. Folks like Felser need to try and be more creative in coming up with something to write about instead of taking the easy "let's compare JP to Matt Leinert) after seeing Leinert for 2 games in a system that has been in place for 3 years now). People 4get this is the 1st year in this system for all of Buffalo's players so it will take a bit to get every1 in sync. Let's see what teams adjust to Leinert in the next few games and see if Leinert is as great as people are making him seem. I like Leinert and think he will be a very good NFL QB, but he would not have succeeded here in Buffalo, and we may already have a QB who is pretty good and just needs more experience playing and in a brand new system to take it to the next level. He is in a great situation in Arizona, with an established system, a franchise RB, great wide receivers, although their offensive line is terrible. Anyways, it's frustrating as a fan to when you are finally seeing some progress from a QB, and development, and hear it from the coaches to read this crap in the papers from guys who can't be any more creative than this crap. GO BILLS> Fingers crossed for a big upset today.
  7. For everyone acting as if they are worried about JP's and our offenses inability to score TD's in the red-zone, I think we are just seeing an offense that is still getting used to each other in a new system, and a coaching staff that is taking baby steps with them and not getting to complicated and making mistakes. JP alluded to it many times yesterday in that the coaching staff makes the players prove it to them, and that as they get more comfortable with the system they will start to unwrap more of the plays, and the coaches will call more plays to take shots into the end-zone. We seen it back in the late 80's with Kelly, and Thurman and Andre. In 87, 88 it was a more conservative approach with a defense that was pretty solid, and gradually the offense grew into the juggernaut that it was and became more wide open in 89-94. Not to say we will ever come close to being that good, but they will get better, and more confidence the more they play in this system. Here is another overlooked fact. Those early years is when the offensive line was first coming together as well. It takes time for these units to become cohesive. The other thing, is that we have been in just about every game we've played, so of course the coaches are going to play it a little more close to the vest, so I understand the playing it safe mentality so far, although it can be a little frustrating. Anyhow, just want to see the offense, and defense progress each week and get better and we'll be alright. GO BILLS!!!!!!
  8. I've seen commercials where you can buy "iT" on eBaY. Can someone just let JP know that he can buy "iT" there. In all seriousness though, JP is a young QB. I love what I've seen out of him and understand this is part of his growing pains. We'll be ok. A little patience is what everyone needs.
  9. Why don't they have JP scramble to help lossen up this defense. It looks like he'ds been told do not run with the ball, always pass.
  10. Get over yourself. The Losman play was a fumble, and I like the handoff instead of the traditional take a knee. Who says Willis doesn't break a tackle and go to the house. Let the game play out and then make yopur criticisms at the Bills. I'm not saying the Bills looked good, but it gets so tiresome of the wannabe head coaches who sit here with the ability of watching TV and hindsight and criticizing the guys on the sideline who is trying to manage the entire game.
  11. media segments, plus the blogs from Chris Brown are awesome. I've truly loved the whole training camp experience and I never even got back up to NY. To be honest, it is way better coverage than even Empire Sports used to have on the Bills, with the interviews and inside segments. I am so ready for some football. HOW MUCH LONGER TIL SUNDAY. GGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BBBBBBBBBIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLSSSSSSSSSSSS...
