  1. Would love the see an arial view of their formation on that last play. Did they not have players line up in the end zone, and if so, why didn’t they see an incoming pass?

Nevermind, just saw it. How did our players standing there facing Mayfield not see that ball coming in?

And what makes you think Ben Johnson will be a better HC? Other than he's an offensive mind?  Every year roughly 25% of the coaches in the league are canned, many of them all were up and coming OC's who turned out as HC not very good.  You bring a new HC, you also are likely looking at a scheme change on both sides of ball and new personal.  Likely in a mini rebuild for a couple years.

This will depend on who he hires as a DC. Many coaches comes in as DCs or OCs, and then promptly start hiring people as a form of returning favors and end up hiring the wrong people. Or, they just hire yes people. Or, they sway from their lane and try to be mini emperors - they don’t delegate and end up failing.

McD did a great job hiring Daboll. He was basically hands off. McDaniel has done a great job in Miami. He’s hands off with his D (insert joke); he didn’t let his ego get involved and hired the best defensive man available.

Ben Johnson has a lot of the same problems that Dorsey has. His offense is Goff and St. Brown. St. Brown is getting around 12 catches a game while everyone else has less than 5. They're struggling to work Jameson Williams and Jamir Gibbs into the offense. Everyone loved Sam LaPorta, but he has not gotten the ball in the past two games at the same rate. If that was the Bills, you would be yelling about the scheme. I'm not saying that he's not a good OC, but you have to look at his offense with the same level of criticism as you do the Bills offense and Dorsey.

This is mostly true. But, they may both be kind of floundering, but there’s one huge difference. Johnson has Goff and Dorsey has Allen. Johnson has basically took a very average QB and made him look great. Can’t imagine what Johnson could do for Allen.

results are skewed because they usually happen on teams that have no talent, but it's an "attempt" to salvage something.  Hard to make much a difference when your players can't play well tho.  Likely different results on teams with talent that need a kick in the ass.

You are correct. Teams that are winning don’t hold players-only meetings.

Hope it works, but usually calling a players only meeting is a bad sign lmao

I would love to know the final record of teams after these so-called player-only meetings, so I asked Google Bard. Of course they waffled and said there are many factors in play, but they did have these 2 examples:

“That said, there are some examples of teams that have had successful players-only meetings and gone on to improve their records. For example, in 2018, the Indianapolis Colts held a players-only meeting after starting the season with a 1-5 record. The Colts went on to win 8 of their next 10 games and make the playoffs.

Another example is the 2020 Cleveland Browns. After starting the season with a 2-6 record, the Browns held a players-only meeting. The Browns went on to win 5 of their last 6 games and finish the season with a 11-5 record.”

  6. Everyone and their kids knows that it’s very hard to take someone down if you aim high, unless you aim for their heads - which is a no no. It’s much more efficient to aim low and wrap them up. Going too low is bad too, because all the player needs to do it jump or regain their balance. So, how does the NFL expect players to efficiently tackle players? Maybe the NFL should begin training players on how to prepare to be tackled.

Let's add to that Todd Marinovich and Matt Leinart.

But the list is much longer than that. Rob Johnson, Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley, and Matt Cassel all have something in common. They did nothing in the NFL (besides make money). Carson Palmer is also on that list, but maybe didn’t suck as much, but that doesn’t say much. USC is a bust factory for QBs.

The Butterfly Effect is that if he had picked off that pass, the trajectory of the game changes and he never gets hurt on that play because it never would’ve happened. Of course that could also mean someone else gets hurt instead on a new script of plays. Injuries suck.

Nah. His injury occurred with basically no contact. To me, no contact injuries imply a structural defect. If it didn’t rupture on this play, it was a ticking time bomb. It would’ve happened in the very near future.
