A lot of mostly good thoughts here, but I think by aligning player type to player type, you're overcomplicating things. First of all Pringle and Hardman are their 3 and 4 -- sometimes their 4 and 5 with Kelce and pass-catching RBs in the formations, so there's that. While Diggs is comparable in talent to those guys, Davis is not (so we're already losing in your apples:apples) AND it's underestimating the stress that Hill's freakish speed puts on the defense. Diggs might be the more polished/talented player, but he doesn't force the defense's hand like Hill does. So in many ways, to what you're saying, we're already -2.

Confused by a bit in this paragraph... are you saying that talent-wise, Byron Pringle and Mecole Hardman are comparable to Diggs? And that Davis is worse than them? Or are you purely saying speed-wise?

Getting voted to a Pro Bowl determining how much the 5th year option is needs to go away.  How can you tell a team that something as arbitrary as a Pro Bowl selection just increased the guaranteed amount of the option?

I don't know how that's a thing, but I think we should hammer the Pro Bowl vote button for any Pats, Dolphins, and Jets that make it 😁

Wasn’t this the knock on Tre’davious White when the Bills drafted him? Sign me up for Gordon. I just want any CB at 25 though, don’t care who if I’m being honest, trust the scouts.

White's weaknesses, per his NFL.com scouting report:

    • Finesse cornerback with relatively slender frame
    • Physicality and play strength a concern from slot
    • Big-bodied slot targets will post him up in space and drive him off the line in run game
    • Tackles when necessary, but doesn't seek out contact
    • Less technique-oriented and more grabby from slot
    • Finished career with just six interceptions despite extensive playing time
    • Early anchor from off coverage caused struggles opening hips when receivers would stem and go
    • Recovery-quick but not recovery-fast
    • Texas Tech speedster Jakeem Grant gave him all kinds of vertical work in 2015 Texas Bowl

Bad look for Poyer. Wonder what his value is on the trade market. We have young guys to pay like Big ED and Tremaine. Poyer is replaceable especially with the Safetly class in this draft.

Replacing an All-Pro is never easy.

Either way in 3 years I fully expect both will be gone and Tre will moved to safety  by then.

Why are we moving Tre to safety? Maybe it's just me, but I don't see consistent tackling as one of his strong suits.

Anyone with great 100 level 50 yard line seasons who won't be able to use them this year and don't want to give them up let me know. I'll take good care of your seats! Hopefully there are more opportunities for this when people get the PSL bill for $50,000-$100,000 at the new stadium.

I sit on the 50 behind the Bills' bench. Gonna enjoy them while I can, until I get priced out by the PSLs.

7's are underutilized with Bills. There is no player with number 77.

Can Bills get exception and have all numbers start with 7?  Josh will be 717 (that actually looks cool), White gets 727, Cam Lewis 747, etc.

Bills can get Boeing to be official airplane of the Buffalo Bills!

    22 guys?

Have the Defense square off agains the O (the "Chiefs") to recreate the final 13 seconds and let random fans make the defensive calls from the sideline and see how close you can get to 100% of them calling plays that ends the "Chiefs" drive!

Maybe another lucky fan can be "practicing kickoffs" on the sidelines, while a guest star/layperson can tell everyone it's a squib kick scenario.

Any woeful  fan who can't successfully stop "the Chiefs" can then lead the crowd in a chant of "the players didn't execute!!".

I can foresee lusty enthusiasm from all attendees!

This might be my favorite post on this forum, ever 😂

  9. My guess: a WR, CB, or OL who tests insanely well athletically in some capacity. Whether that's size, speed, or agility.

    Beane 1st Rounder RAS Scores:

    • Josh Allen: 9.67
    • Tremaine Edmunds: 9.74
    • Ed Oliver: 9.87
    • Greg Rousseau: 7.70

Rousseau is the lone outlier of course, but he still scored in the top 25% of DEs since 1987.

Given the team's commitment to improving the defense over the last few offseasons, I think we'll take an offensive player, meaning G or WR, and with WRs being quite a bit costlier than guards, and us right up against the cap for the foreseeable future, I think Beane will want to get a premier player on a cost-controlled contract. In other words, a WR.

Projected 1st-2nd round receivers (no specific order):

    • Jameson Williams
      • 6'1", 179lbs.
      • RAS: n/a
    • Chris Olave
      • 6'0", 187lbs.
      • RAS:
    • Jahan Dotson
      • 5'11", 178lbs
      • RAS:
    • Garrett Wilson
      • 6'0", 183lbs.
      • RAS:
    • Drake London
      • 6'4", 219lbs.
      • RAS:
    • Treylon Burks
      • 6'2", 225lbs.
      • RAS: 8.91
    • Christian Watson
      • 6'4", 208lbs.
      • RAS: 9.98
    • George Pickens
      • 6'3", 195lbs.
      • RAS:

I have to look around more to find/compute the missing scores, but I think it'll be one of the above players.

On a related note, it's worth mentioning that Zion Johnson scored 9.95 RAS, ranking him 58 out of 1,406 guards since 1987.

You have to wonder if Beane and McDermott think there was something off in the locker room last season given some of the acquisitions they've made, many of whom have been here before, and some of the players they've let walk, especially when you consider how out of sync and distracted they looked for the first 3/4 of the season.

    Among the group:

    - Cole Beasley

    - Star Lotulelei

    - Vernon Butler

    - Jon Feliciano

    - Jerry Hughes

    - Mario Addison

    - Harrison Phillips

    - AJ Klein

    - Levi Wallace

I assume you're alluding to the first few?

It makes sense, but once Bates was inserted as the starter at LG, the O line played very well last year.  I don’t think Josh took a sack in the last 5 games…How much more “protection” does he need?

I'm not sure where to find stats pertaining to pressure, but one thing to keep in mind is that Josh aids his linemen's sack numbers a lot by making incredible plays to evade pressure that only a couple guys in the league can make.

  12. When a reporter asked Beane about Levi Wallace, he said (paraphrasing here - not an exact quote): "That's where it gets hard. Sometimes you tie up money in one player, maybe you're out on some other players, then that player backs out."

I wonder if the Bills decided to sign McKissic over Wallace, and when he backed out, Wallace had already committed to Pittsburgh 🤷‍♂️
