  1. What a waste , we cut Dockery and more than likely will bench Walker . Can somebody tell me how much money we spent on these fools .
  2. The benching of Langston Walker deserves its own thread .
  3. Link : http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ Looks like Bell is going to start ! JT
  4. In the last 2 years, Roscoe could not beat out JOSH REED for the # 2 spot. That alone should tell you something. Great KO/PR man, but how many times did he signal for a fair catch when there was PLENTY of room to run. More than once. Still a bad a$$ return man , he should have been WAY better though. Poor Roscoe , TO was bad enough, now Steve Johnson is getting some love from the coaches. So Trade me , thats your response . When he signed his contract extension , he was still the # 3 wideout and was paid accordingly .
  5. After viewing the press conference today, coach said that Butler has played some right tackle . So with that, I think our O line is going to look like this: LT:WALKER LG: WOOD C:HANGARTNER RG: LEVITIRE RT: BUTLER. I think its funny hearing the "experts' say we had a bad/poor draft because we did not get a tackle. Like we forgot about it or something. This one is good also : "why a corner ? " Jairus Bryd will play safety. Or the Bills didnt draft a tackle, um Levitire was a starting left tackle for the Ducks. He just projects to play guard by the so called experts . Coach said he could play there and wouldn't rule it out .
  6. Good pick, Jairus Byrd should be a starter on openning day...Simpson is gone for sure now . Think about our safety depth .A converted WR , some white kid and who else ? an old guy who has been in the league for 7 yrs. ? We can get our right tackle later . I guess people should listen when the GM, Scouts , Head Coach all say they Like Bell at tackle, just maybe they see something in him like they saw in Peters... you know the undrafted FA pickup .
  7. Based on available players from Sportingnews.com 7rd mock 1st - Brandon Pettigrew TE - Will start, big time upgrade. 1st - Michael Oher T - could possibly start. Great story. 2nd - Michael Johnson DE - Cant believe he is there ! 3rd - Louis Vasquez G - big strong dude , will start. 4th - Jason Williams OLB - Fast, will compete for starting time 4th - Tony Fiammetta FB - Will start 5th - Jaimie Thomas G - Multiple positions guy 6th - Brett Helms C - hoping this guy can be a long snapper . 7th - Colin Brown T - who knows ?
  8. We lost a LT who screwed us last year, was unhappy, no dedication to team.. statistically among the worst LT in sacks allowed. Many false starts, holding calls . . He was a FA pick up right ? ...so from nothing we got 3 good picks . I applaud the Bills for this move. They offered him good money but I wouldn't throw the bank at him with the stunt he pulled on the team last year.
  9. Just reported on yahoo. Would like to know who the "source " is . http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-b...p&type=lgns JT
  10. Dont mess with the Zohan ! Like most BACKUP QBs, Scrapy Cocco really dosen't get to many first team looks during the weak !
  11. QB: Trent Edwards, J.P. Losman HB: Marshawn Lynch, Fred Jackson, Dwayne Wright . BACKUP: Xavier Omen TE: Robert Royal, Courtney Anderson, Derek Fine, Derek Schouman FB: Darian Barnes WR: Lee Evans, James Hardy, Josh Reed, Roscoe Parrish, Justin Jenkins. BACKUP: Steve Johnson OL: Peters, Dock, Fowler, Butler, Walker,Preston, Chambers. BACKUP: Whittle, Bell. DE: Chris Kelsay, Aaron Schobel,Ryan Denney. BACKUP: Ellis DT: John McCargo, Marcus Stroud, Kyle Williams, Spencer Johnson LB: John DiGiorgio, Paul Posluszny, Kawika Mitchelll, Keith Ellison, Angelo Crowell. BACKUP: Alvin Bowen CB: Terrence McGee, Jabari Greer, Leodis McKelvin, Willl James. BACKUP: Ashton Youboty Reggie Corner. S/FS: Donte Whitner, Ko Simpson, John Wendling, George Wilson. K: Rian Lindell P: Moorman LS: Ryan Neill I also listed the eight backups that I think will not dress on game day.
  12. Did not know this. Imagine if he had a full year ! Edwards, whose strengths are his decision-making and leadership, threw eight TDs last year in going 5-4 as a starter, but four of his scores came in one game against Miami. Still, his 1,630 passing yards were most by a third-round rookie QB in NFL history (Dan Fouts had 1,126 in 1973). http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/teams/report/BUF/10894688
  13. The Bills FO did a great job on the second day. Maybe they like the guys that were brought in via free agency. We have like six TEs and I am sure they think that at least one is going to pan out besides RR. What holes were going to filled on the second day of the draft ? NONE ! We picked guys with good character and added some special team depth. I think the scouts had allot of pull in this draft and there opinion was valued. Everyone acts like we missed out on next coming of Jesus !
  14. What they're saying about Corner "First off he plays a lot bigger than his size. He's very, very good in his run support. Good instincts, good coverage ability, very good ball skills. Really there aren't many negatives. They played Ohio State, Indiana and he covered Hardy and that was a split. They both did well (Hardy had just 4 catches for 65 yards and a TD). He rose above the competition in those games. You turn on the film and he's an exciting player. He's a 4.5 guy that plays like a 4.4 guy." Bills scout - Tom Roth
  15. Strengths: Reliable hands...Versatile and he can line up all over the field...Nice ball skills and body control...Smart with great awareness...Knows how to get open...Tough and durable..Great motor...Hard worker..Lots of experience...Team leader and captain. Weaknesses: Average size and bulk...Marginal athleticism...Doesn't have great timed speed...Is not very quick and lacks a burst...Needs to get stronger...Sub par blocker...Won't do much after the catch...Can improve as a route runner...Not a fit for every team. Notes: He grayshirted in 2002 due to an injury and then redshirted in 2003..A three-year starter...Might be more of an H-Back...Also a terrific special teamer...Is not a great in-line blocker but could battle for a roster spot as a pass catching specialist...Has to find the right situation but his top-notch intangibles give him a fighting chance.
  16. This pick takes me back to when the Bills picked Donte Whitner , I was pissed but in reality I had no clue .
  17. Something different to think about other than the draft and trades.... Looking over the roster, I always felt the Long Snapper is a luxury to have in the NFL. We have one of the best there is in Mike Schneck. Ideally you want a guy that can do more than be a LS. One of the things that was mentioned about Whittle is that he can LS. My guess is that if he can be consistent, then Schneck is out the door. It makes sense that we keep 9 OL this year. I think on game day we will dress 8 offensive linemen. Here they are : Starters Jason Peters-LT Derrick Dockery-LG Melvin Fowler-C Duke Preston-RG Langston Walker-RT. Backups : Brad Butler, Aaron Merz, Jason Whittle and Terrance Pennington. With one of them sitting out . The LG position is up for grabs and anyone of them beside TP could end up starting this year at the LG position. This should really push someone as the competition to start or even dress is going to be fierce ! To me it make sense if Whittle can win the Long Snapper job because he can be the 8th guy and play ANY position on the o-line in an emergency situation, 3rd option type of guy. The primary backups will be the younger guys.
  18. Here is a good read on Meachem from ESPN : http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft07/news/story?id=2796214 This guy fits the type of player that Levy likes. You have to consider that "The Bills" draft board is rated differently than the so called experts. Where character, love of football and no attitude have some weight as to weather or not they draft a guy, think Donte Whitner . Listen to what Marv had to say about the guy and that might give you some insight as to how we are going to draft. Last year we had Whitner rated higher than Michael Huff. Most of the so called experts thought Huff...by leaps and bounds was the better player prior to the draft. Here is the quote from Huff on his draft diary found @ http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?p=605114 Michael Huff quote : " During the trips, I had a huge shock when I visited the Dolphins in Miami and then made the trip to Buffalo to see the Bills. In Miami, the weather was beautiful and sunny with palm trees everywhere. I was surrounded by snow and icy weather in Buffalo the next day. I couldn't believe the difference in weather changes between the two places! I know I can handle the snow if I end up in Buffalo or Detroit, but I do have to say, the warm and sunny weather in Miami was a welcome sight. " After reading that and its fairly easy to see why "The Bills" draft board is different from others.
  19. Just in case anyone was wondering. Yes its true, those are my initials.
  20. Astro I think we will definitely draft 1 or 2 safety's . 5 foot nothing Jim Leonhard is not the answer as a legit backup to the SS or FS position . While he is a great special teams player, do you really want him as a long term solution if there is an injury ? The back end of our draft will be filled with cover 2 linebackers and the safety positions. Think Keith Ellison. All of which will be special team demons. Look at our roster, the priority positions have to be RB,LB,CB,S. I like how we run our drafts now, total smoke screens . You have no idea what the old man is going to do. Will we trade Willis and go for Mike Turner . Somehow get another first and draft a big wide out ? After last years draft who knows ?
  21. I thought that in thier last superbowl they had a bunch of injurys to there secondary ? I dont got the time to look it up , but i want to say a rookie or 2 started that game !
  22. Look at what the Patriots did with there corners . They won the superbowl with NO secondary . Nate is replaceable , and that person could be on the roster right now . The cover 2 will hide the flaws of a weak CB. Its our D line and safeties that that will determine the success of the Defense. Nate really didnt do anything special last year on a defense that was ranked near the bottom of the league in nearly every statistical number. So why keep him this year ?
  23. They did sign a FA CB : 'The Buffalo Bills signed four low-profile free agents with NFL experience on Wednesday. The most noteworthy were cornerback Kiwaukee Thomas and offensive guard Aaron Gibson.'
