I dont see Williams dropping to 24
White is too much of a risk for them ( i think he falls to Pitt at 32 ), might be too high for Maroney
Bush playe high school ball with A.Smith..not that it means anything
-
Saints could drop to 6 and still possibly get D'Brick or even AJ Hawk
I also think the Packers will draft V.Davis
-
With defensive tackle a needed must, moving down here would be stupid. If they do trade to #14, Ngata and Bunkley would be gone. Here are my thoughts on trading: Watch to see who is still on the board near the end of round one. If Eric Winston is there at the top of round two, trade the second and one of the third round picks up and draft him. Then let things fly as they will.
there are more then 2 DT's in this draft
McCargo could still be a possiblity later on if the rumors of a Bills Bears trade takes place. I dont think McCargo will be there for the Bills second round pick however

I like the NFL Network but man does that channel need some personality

Like any position in the draft #14 would be a crap shoot but it looks to be a 50/50 crap shoot recently.
2005: 1 14 14 Thomas Davis Panthers DB Georgia
2004: 1 14 14 Tommie Harris Bears DT Oklahoma
2003: 1 14 14 Michael Haynes Bears DE Penn State
2002: 1 14 14 Jeremy Shockey Giants TE Miami (FL)
2001: 1 14 14 Kenyatta Walker Buccaneers T Florida
compared to #8 which has been a little more safer.
2005: 1 8 8 Antrel Rolle Cardinals DB Miami (FL)
2004: 1 8 8 DeAngelo Hall Falcons DB Virginia Tech
2003: 1 8 8 Jordan Gross Panthers T Utah
2002: 1 8 8 Roy Williams Cowboys DB Oklahoma
2001: 1 8 8 David Terrell Bears WR Michigan
WOW I still cant believe the Bears took D.Terrell
Tommie Harris was a STEAL for the Bears at 14 in 2004

My buddy got a few tickets to the Eagles draft party at their stadium. I do enjoy just sitting on my ass in the comfort of my own home all weekend watching the draft, but since I've done that for the past 15 years or so, I figured a little change couldn't hurt.
So I will be proudly wearing my McGahee throwback while I march into the heart of the dumbasses.
Over/under on Flyers comments is being set at 600. Place your bets now.
GO BILLS!!!! Draft someone worth a sh-- please, thats all I ask.
dumbasses?

There are so many charts it's hard to tell, yet in using the chart found at ESPN.com it was a pretty even trade in looking back. As we traded the 14th pick in 2001 we gave up a value of 1100 and earned the 21st pick (800 points) and the 51st pick (390 points ) for a total of 1190 points. Though we must not forget we also traded that 51st pick (390) for pick 58 (320 points) and pick 110 (74 points) for a total of 394 points.
thats what I mean, its nice to look at but its a guide if its anything. The numbers will almost never be exact
thanks for looking that up by the way
-
people really need to stop looking at that chart
do you really think the Eagles are sitting there saying their two picks are worth more on the value chart then the Bills first pick
come on, its nice to look at but people are getting a little crazy with it
what does the chart say about the Bills pick when they traded down with Tampa and picked up a second rounder, I bet it wasnt an even trade according to the chart but it got done anyway
-
this rumor keeps coming up, they didnt get into details except to say they continue to talk about swapping first round picks...i just hope Marv doesnt make the trade until they are on the clock and D'Brick is gone ( or if he goes higher ), they have to wait and see if they can get lucky and have D'Brick fall to them
the Eagles want a DT and it was initially thought they wanted Ngata but they actually want Bunkley who fits their style of defense better
-
I actually think the Bills had a shot to land D'Brick with the 8th pick but with the Texans now taking Williams I just dont see it happening.
If the Saints trade down with the Jets the Saints will most likely take D'Brick, if not then the Saints will probably take Hawk which throws everything out of whack which would land D'Brick anywhere from 4 to 6
-
just reported as breaking news on espn....it is Williams
-
why do people always assume that head coaches are making the picks for their teams. There are only a few head coach / GMs in the league
Jauron was not picking these guys, nor was Levy when he was head coach. They might have had some input but they were not making the picks
-
I dont think they would trade up for Justice, if they stay at 14 and he is there I think they would take him but they just resigned Runyan at RT and they still have Tra Thomas at LT each being paid a nice sum so I cant see them trading up for another tackle....they also have Shaun Andrews who they traded up for 2 years ago too
-
I dont think they would make the trade for 26 until the bears were on the clock....I also only think they make this trade if they end up trading down in the first round and getting additional pick(s)
-
and the team they would trade up with to get him is Buffalo
at least Marv seems to be involved in a lot of discussions and not sitting on his hands
with this talk and the talk of moving back into the first round and getting the Bears pick the Bills could be pretty aggressive on draft day which always makes the draft that much more interesting

KFFL is reporting:
Bills | Talking potential trade with Bears
Thu, 27 Apr 2006 12:05:05 -0700
John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports the Buffalo Bills are attempting to acquire a second first round pick. The Chicago Bears, who own the No. 26 pick, may be interested in dealing.
I think the trade being discussed is actually the Bills moving up from their 2nd round pick rather then down from their first round pick
Chicago gave up a 3rd round pick to Carolina when they signed Ricky Manning Jr so the talk is they would like to pick up another pick(s) to make up for that pick...dont know if I like this trade idea for the Bills unless they are able to trade down and pick up another 2nd then I like it
-
I see the same order happening except I think the Jets and Oak do in fact make a trade with oak getting Lienhart and the Jets taking Cutler
if D'brick is there obviiously he is the choice, if not move down is the better option

Well, they have 9 selections now. I'm not schooled on the ins and outs of the rookie signing money pool, but isn't it possible that with additional day 1 picks, the contract offers get diluted, and players and their agents will hold out because the offered $$$ is less than is expected for the player's position and slotting?
each teams rookie pool gets adjuested based on the number of picks they get to prevent a situation of having too many picks with not enough money in the rookie money pool

I used to enjoy reading PFT until the site became popup and advertisment city...it mind as well be a porn site
I havent been to that site in months

Hawk is the last person I want to see the Bills take, he is solid but to me not as explosive as a LB would need to be in order to be taken that high
unless the guy is an absolute freak I wouldnt take a LB or a S that high
-
the Bills cant spend another first round pick on a QB..not admitting your mistakes and moving on can hinder a team but its still too early to give up on Losman. The guy has all the physical tools and has shown flashes, some good coaching and support from his coaches and teamates could do a lot for him
the biggest knock on Lienart is his arm strength and the first thing you need as a QB in Buffalo is arm strength
I also dont think he will fall, if Tenn doesnt take him at worst Oakland will
-
And Morganti's not a homer either. He was simply parroting what the three fools were saying. I live near Philly, I KNOW how bad all these guys are. THEY'RE PAID EMPLOYEES OF COMCAST WHO OWNS THE FLYERS.
That's an important point and one that shouldn't be forgotten. There's not even a veneer of impartiality with guys like Barkann, Morganti, Coates, Dornhoffer and Jackson.
comast owns the flyers, thanks for the info....like I didnt know that
no one is defending them as being homers....guess that means they make stuff up now
whether the replay was being shown by the arena or TV it doesnt change the fact the fans were cheering as it was being replayed as Umberger was on the ice. TV feeds can also be shut off during a game
my point was that fans are idiots everywhere, not just philly
Bills and Eagles continue to talk

Michigan WRs just dont normally produce in the NFL
A.Toomer has had a nice career but he was never an elite receiver
B.Edwards will change all that however
