Talks between the Bills and top pick Donte Whitner are at a standstill. Whitner is one of just three first round picks unsigned and he is top pick not signed in the league. Marv Levy said he was more encouraged two days ago than he is now about a deal getting done. Whitner said he thinks the two sides are close to getting a deal done and that the issues separating the two sides aren't major. He said it won't be long and he's been studying his playbook and working out two hours a day. Levy doesn't deal with contract negotiations but did get involved by contacting Whitner's agent. He told him the team is prepared to move forward without Whitner and his "chances of winning a starting job are diminishing swiftly". I hope marv's not serious about that statement. but this does worry me, i mean whitner the higest pick to no be signed, and only 1 of 3 in the nfl..... Whitner talks stalled

thats just like bills digest's lineup, but i like it. i really hope whitner starts, and i think JP will, i was a little dissapointed to see Anderson over McCargo but who knows its only a projected lineup. but i would really like to see McCargo start along with Tripplet(who will be awsome).

i agree i think #8 was a little to high, but we wanted this guy and didnt want to see him get snagged by another team so we took are chances on him at 8. But although i thought he went a little high i understood why we took him, and also i really think he is going to be great for us. he was awsome in colledge although that doesnt mean he will do the same in NFL so who knows? only time will tell, but i really like this guy

when is the due date for nfl teams to cut their rosters? first to 65? then to 53? what are the dates?

when will Whitner and others be signed?

he started for NO and seems to be a solid LB, he will be good depth wise behind Fletch in my oppinion

NOw Oakland has just signed QB Brooks, per kffl. And also from yesterday i read that vikings may be looking to trade up in draft for a QB. I see the Vikings trading w/ NO as a strong possibility, especially since NO is looking for a trade partner. heres my mock 1) Houston- Reggie Bush 2) Minn- Matt Leinart 3) Tennesee- Vince Young 4) NYJ- ???? do they go for Cutler here, Mario Williams, D'Brickshaw 5) GB- AJ Hawk or Mario Williams 6) Oakland- (the big question) now w/ signing of Brooks they dont need to look at QB's, yet they deff need to upgrade at LB, and looks like GB will snag Hawk.
