  1. Well, deja vu all over again. I was laid of in January 2006, and was luckily back to work by April. It was supposed to be contract to hire, but I guess the economy did not follow that pattern.

Besides taking a pay cut, the contract benefits sucked, but it was a paycheck and interesting work. I really did NOT see this coming since they were signing me up for training classes and I was involved in several key projects. Too bad these days quality engineers are considered 'overhead'.

I heard they had cut some temps early today, and something told me to pack my personal things in my brief case. So at about 3pm today the division manager says he would like to have a word with me. My boss works out of town Thursday and Friday, or she would have had to tell me.

    Merry Christmas to me.

The wife left for NY city this morning for a weekend with the girls. Now I have to figure out how to tell her Sunday night I do not have a job to go to Monday. No sense telling her now when she calls to check in - she has been looking forward to this weekend for a long time.

This time I do not have a sweet severance package either. I did not get to say seeya to anyone. At least I know I was doing MY best, but corporate said cut all the temps.

Am I pissed? Yeah, but I will land on my feet and be pounding on doors by Monday.

God will not give me a load I cannot carry.

Tough situation. I pray the best for you and your fam. Atleast you have a good attitude. We're working 70 hours a week here at Honeywell right now, but none of us know what's going to happen after the first of the year. I leave my faith in God for that. The Word says, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are the called according to His purpose." Romans Chap. 8 v. 28. I believe that there is something better in store for you sir. :)

  2. I think the Bills are better off without him, but I still don't think we've found the right people yet. If Donahoe was that great, he would have a job right now. The draft picks are about on the same scale of hit or miss it seems. The coaching hasn't improved. We still haven't made the playoffs. Uhhhhh, which one did I pick again? Oh, yeah, I selected "Yes" for the simple fact that I like watching Mort get hammered by Boomer when he starts trying to rail the Bills :)

  3. This is the world we live in today. Our morality, as a whole, took a long walk off of a short pier about 40 years ago. It all started with the 1960's. We've been on a perverbial "Highway to Hell" ever since. Some people like it and classify it as their personal freedom, others are opposed to this kind of behavior and deem it lawlessness. Axl Rose put it best when he said, "Welcome to the jungle, we've got fun and games..." and later on he screams "You're gonna die". Both are true realities of the America we live in. We have plenty of things to fill oneself with, but live by these loose moral standards and you will die twice. I think that "jungle" could be just as easily replaced with "modern day Sodom and Gomorrah", it just wouldn't have the same effect or fit with the tune. That, my friends, is the world we live in today.

  4. What's wrong with you?

Were you dropped on the head as a kid? What makes people like you spawn?

He didn't say he was overly optimistic, just trying to motivate himself for the game. Do you actually think better about yourself for trying to sh*t on people?

It was a joke smart guy. Hence the laughing smiley. You guys are wrapped WAAAYYYY too tight.

  5. I'd have to go with Marshawn Lynch on offense. Lynch haters start with your ramblings if you want to :) . The guy has 201 carries for 844 yards (4.1 pc) and 7 TD's rushing. Then he has 43 catches, 2nd most on the team, for 283 more yards and another TD. Yes Lee Evans is having a decent year, averaging 18.2 yards per reception, but Lynch has accounted for right at 30% of our team's total offense. If TrINT would get Lee the ball more, Evans would surely be team MVP considering the yards he's gaining when given the opportunity. Right now though, it's gotta be Lynch.

On defense, Kawika Mitchell. I'd say the guy has played the best out of anyone on our defense this year. He's second on the team in tackles with 62, 43 solo, 3 sacks, 2 FF, and an INT to top it all off. I'd say the guy has been cosistently solid this year.

  6. JP knows that this is his opportunity to show off for his pending FA. The question is will the pressure of that cause him to try and do too much? We all know that the guy can throw a ball 65 yards in the air and put it on the #'s, but the intermediate routes and checkdowns have always been his problem. Expect Hardy and Johnson to be more involved as long as JP is in the game. Hardy, because JP will heave the pigskin his way towards the endzone once we get around the opponents 40 yard line. Johnson, because he has enough speed to get separation on the deeper routes. Reed will likely be the "odd man out" with JP at the helm. And Royal, well what did you expect?

  7. Character? You want character? They aren't nicknamed the Dolfelons for nothing. About the only thing missing from My Yami's rap sheet is murder......so far. Geez, having said that, I hope they don't murder the Bills tomorrow. Oh no....

Hey, Ray Lewis is a FA this offseason :)

  8. Buffalo Bills have running groove on, but it hasn't helped

Buffalo one of few NFL squads that loses when it runs well

ORCHARD PARK — In a season that has been filled with puzzling occurrences for the Buffalo Bills, topped by the team's plunge from a 5-1 record to its current 6-6 mark, here's another one that sticks out.

The old axiom is that in order to be successful on offense you must be able to run the ball effectively, and wide receiver Lee Evans, for one, wholeheartedly agrees.

"No doubt," Evans said. "Right now, our line and our running backs, they have a good groove on and when your running game is working, your offense is working. You're able to throw the ball outside and things like that. Having a commitment to the running game is big and it definitely helps us on the outside."

OK, then explain this: Of the four best running days the Bills have enjoyed this season, they have won only one of those games, and that came against Kansas City, whose defense is nothing short of pathetic.

  9. I apologize for yet another thread revolving around Jauron, but I thought this theory may have some legs.

This dreadful franchise has been peddling hope for almost a decade now. With the economy the way it is and with season ticket sales surely to plummet next season - how does one peddle hope after the crash and burn of this season?

Even if one can make the argument that Jauron deserves to stay or that Ralph would normally never buy out his contract, when you peddle hope - perception is reality. If the fan base has decided that this team is hopeless with Jauron - who is going to buck this economic downturn, reject the only message the Bills have to offer their fans, and purchase those tickets?

Ralph, like it or not, may come to the conclusion that he has to fire Jauron or he will have nothing to offer the fans for next season.

FINALLY!!! We, the fans, might have an actual "say so".

  10. Terrell Suggs is a FA this year also, along with Albert Haynesworth. I think the guys we should go after are Suggs, Houshmandzadeh, Sean Jones from Cleveland to play SS here (moving Whitner to FS), and Channing Crowder. Those are the guys I'd like to see starting for the Bills from this FA class on opening day in 2009. It would surely be a solid offseason, hopefully coupled with the drafting of a TE like Jermaine Gresham (OU), a starting Center, and another LB to take Crowell's old spot.

  11. This is the following scenario that is about to happen:

The University of Buffalo Bulls win the MAC title against an undefeated, #12 ranked team. The Buffalo Bills win out in the regular season and garner a WC spot in the playoffs. Down 35-3 against Denver in the 3rd quarter of a rematch we roll off 35 straight before winning in OT 41-38. We steamroll Pittsburgh. Against Tennessee, we're down five after giving up a TD with 13 seconds left. They kickoff to Roscoe Parrish who runs to the right side of the field, turns and throws the ball back to McKelvin on the other side. McKelvin follows the train of blockers to the endzone giving us a 1 point victory to make the SB. Buffalo is losing to the Giants 19-17 with 37 seconds left. We have the ball on our own 26 with 1 TO. Edwards hits Evans for a 31 yard gain on an out-and-up route. Evans steps out of bounds to stop the clock. 25 seconds remaining. From the "Shotgun" with 4 WR, Lynch gets the ball on a draw play and fights for 13 yards. The Bills call TO with 3 seconds left. Lindell steps onto the field. Here's the snap. The kick is up. It looks to be wide right. The ball draws back in and scrapes just inside of the uprights. BILLS WIN, BILLS WIN!!!! THE BUFFALO BILLS HAVE JUST WON THE SUPER BOWL!!! THE WHOLE CITY OF BUFFALO IS GOING TO DISNEY LAND!!! Christ's second coming takes place as Ralph hoists the Lombardi trophy. All's well that ends well

Sorry, I needed to revise it a little :P

  12. Our attack wasn't balanced in the beginning of the year, but now the running game is coming together. So now what's the excuse going to be? It is on TrINT Edwards alot of times. It was clearly evident in the Cleveland game. There were WR's getting open all over, but he wasn't throwing the ball based on timing. He was holding the ball until some one would be basically standing in the opening. Because of this there were 3 quick INT's and 2 other possible INT's that were dropped. Are they dropping back more people? Yes. It isn't straight up double coverage on every WR and TE though. There are defenses called "zone" that ALL have openings at one place or another. TrINT isn't reading the "zone" and throwing to where one of our WR's WILL be open. Not standing, but running through the opening. TrINT has been scared to death since getting dropped by Adrian Wilson. You could yell "BOO!!!" at him in the pocket and he's letting go of the ball. He doesn't want to stand in there and take the hit that comes along with being an NFL QB. Even Carson Palmer hasn't been the same since VonOlhoffen dove into his knee. It'll be interesting to see if Brady is the same QB he's always been when he returns next season. Either way, this IS more TrINT than the defenses we're facing. Other QB's find ways to distribute the ball, why can't ours?
