Can I Start The 'Official' Game Thread?
BoondckCL replied to true_blue_bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have our game plan for the second half. It conists of sitting Willis McGahee and pulling Shaud Williams off the bench. We don't hand off to Shaud and we run with Damien Shelton behind Chris Villarrial. That my friends, is how we are going to win this game. -
I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand Walking through the streets of Soho in the rain He was looking for a place called Lee Ho Fook's Going to get himself a big dish of beef chow mein Werewolves of London If you hear him howling around your kitchen door Better not let him in Little old lady got mutilated late last night Werewolves of London again Werewolves of London He's the hairy-handed gent who ran amuck in Kent Lately he's been overheard in Mayfair Better stay away from him He'll rip your lungs out, Jim I'd like to meet his tailor Werewolves of London Well, I saw Lon Chaney walking with the Queen Doing the I saw Lon Chaney, Jr. walking with the Queen Doing the I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's His hair was perfect Werewolves of London Draw blood

Nice avatar my man. Nice avatar. Very Classy and very fitting for the situation at this point in the season.

Yes i realize this. I am just saying that guys like Ko Simpson and Donte Whitner are fast enough and have the awareness that they will be up in a flash to support the run after the snap and after the handoff. The real trouble is whether they get sold on play action or not.

The world is !@#$ up place my friend.

This very well could be possible. The two guys that we had last season were both on the down sides of their careers and had lost a step or two over the years. The only thing that i truly worry about with the starting of two rookie safeties, is whether or not they are going to have the game intelligence and vision to be in position to prevent giving up long gains through the air. Hopefully they come out and become a tandem that will be one of Buffalo's strengths for the next several years. Just don't be disappointed if we end up giving up a couple of long plays that go for six. Without Takeo, I expect our safeties to be heavily involved in the run support to slow down Ronnie Brown.

Now, now, i am an advocate for rap music and i am an avid fan of the Notorious BIG, Big L, Dr Dre, and other of the sort. Now was i saying that there is no meaning in all rap songs, no i don't believe that. "Everyday Struggle" by the Notorious BIG is one of those songs that captures a scene and the feelings of the people in that particular scene. Rap music is the new age poetry for youth all over the country and it is spreading into other countries as well. I think it is just a matter of time before they start integrating both poetry and rap music in school.

The best fight or most interesting thing

I was at this game as well as the Chiefs game last year when the guy was running across the awning on the box seats. Both were great classics. -
Will McGahee Still Play for the Bills?
BoondckCL replied to TNBillFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh well, i think college is a little different, especially at skill positions that require speed. If you are playing in the humanitarian bowl, and you are going to be a top 10 pick, are you going to lay it all on the line and risk injury? -
I was just thinking about this and i would say that there are two events that come to mind immediately and one that will emotionally scar me for life. Scarring... Jets@Bills, early in the new millenium. Still kind of a youngen, and the man behind me stands up and takes off the majority of his clothes. After a few moments all he has on is a leopard print thong and a Jets hat. He continued to shout J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets. Then people started stuffing his thong with money. I have gone to counseling for this, and it brings back bad thoughts just reminicing about it now. Steelers @ Bills (2004): With a playoff berth on the line, Buffalo quickly finds themselves down at half time by a substantial margin. I go out of the stadium to smoke a cigarette. Several minutes later, a brawl breaks out between Steeler fans and Bills fans. There has to be about 16-20 total guys. It was over something like that we were getting beat by the Pittsburgh backups. After the fight was broken up, one of the guys in the fight looked at me and said, "Now, hopefully that will inspire the Bills and show them what a fight is". ANy other stories would be good.

Will McGahee Still Play for the Bills?
BoondckCL replied to TNBillFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who said anything about that? -
Don't get your hopes up. It won't be long before they all focus in on the dabacle in Dallas with TO, or the destruction of a legacy in Art Shell with his Oakland Raiders. It won't be long before JPL makes a mistake that will have ESPN saying that he is not good and that the Bills need Brady Quinn next year. The only way that they continue to show love is if the Bills win their next three games and he is a large contributor in those wins. At that point we will be 3-1 and everybody in Bristol will be blowing eachother and joyously praising eachother on being the gods of predicting athletic talent.

Will McGahee Still Play for the Bills?
BoondckCL replied to TNBillFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is still unknown. Willis has made strides and has said things that would make one believe that he will find a perminant home in Buffalo, but his personality does not seem to fit the Buffalo frame of mind. I think it all truly hinges on this year. If Willis does poorly, i think you will see him book for the team that is closest to the equator. If Willis has moderate success and the team does well, he will stay. If he does exceptionally well and makes it to a Pro Bowl, he will leave, no doubt in my mind. The other thing that decides the continuence or severence of tenure or departure of McGahee depends on if he feels the love from the fans. His first year in Buffalo when he was back from his injury, he was treated as a god and the fans loved everytime he touched the ball. If the fans surround McGahee and show him the kind of attention he thinks he deserves, then he will stay in Buffalo. If not, he's taking a flight on Southwestern -

BoondckCL replied to Buffalo Baumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He may not be a top five receiver, but ask yourself, who was throwing to him. Last year he had Gus Frerotte, Sage Rosenfels and the list is not that great as the years go back, i.e. Damon Huard. Chambers is a very capable receiver that is in a bad system in Miami. I doubt that MUlarkey or Culpepper will figure out a way to get Chambers thoroughly involved until week 10. By that time, they will be out of playoff contention and December will be right around the corner. -
Still the best sign I ever saw at The Ralph
BoondckCL replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Now that's a good one. But I saw one that said... "Brian Cox, last name fits personality". -
Now we must all keep in mind, was it the Bills staff that led us to believe that we were contenders this year, or was it our optimism that kicks in at the beginning of every year.

Maybe a TKO or something like that? Any ideas.

There is no logic or meaning behind rap music per say. It mainly consists of slang that was fit with the english language to make a rhyming verse. Bottom line: If you can't think of anything that rhymes, make up a word.

Teachers can say Bush was behind 9//11
BoondckCL replied to pdh1's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Bluefire, where do you go to school? I attend Hudson Valley Community College and i hear nonsense like that all the time. I had a history teacher for History of the 20th Century, and he firmly believed that Bush "tore" the towers down so that he could start a war with Iraq and complete his father's legacy. They published a story on MSNBC the other day about how Bush was behind 9-11. The fact of the matter is that Democrats have been doing this for years. They stack the school system full of people with liberal/hippie belief, and then they teach the idea that Republicans are bad people and that they are behind all that is wrong in the world. For example they talk about American Conservatism and then they say something along the lines of Bin Laden is a radical Conservative and all this other crap, thus tying Republicans in with terrorists. In my first semester at HVCC, i had an African American in my class who defended the Republican political stand point on an issue, and my English teacher simply replied "If anybody should be Deocratic in this room it should be you." That is an English teacher! She some how always diverted conversations into political nonsense. In the public school system, at both the collegate, and high school levels; teachers villanize Republicans day in and day out. As a result of this, people with even a mind that leans conservative but have some beliefs that are liberal, they don't open their mouths, thus resulting in lower grades because they don't participate in classroom discussion. How the !@#$ is a kid supposed to actively participate if every word out of their mouth is going to be disputed? Then liberals can come up with "interesting" statistics like "All the people who are smart in school are liberal." To close, i reference a quote from Russell Baker's piece entitled "School vs. Education". This piece and many pieces written in the local newspaper support my theory. After graduation: -Boondock -
McGahee adds an aspect to the game that Thomas certainly doesn't. He adds finess and is a good solid back that needs to cut back on the dancing a little bit, and do his thing the way he did at the U. That involved a lot of cutting and misdirection, but people in the NFL are too quick to pull that on every play, McGahee needs to find his own rythem in this league, and with that rythem will come plenty of success.

I'm not sure i would sit Willis at this point in the season. He is lighter and looks faster than he did last season. Let's not forget, he was going up against a Patriots defense that proved that other people get hit in the game this weekend when the Messiah was MIA. Bottom line, it is too early in the season to sit McGahee. He is lighter and faster and may not realize that with the loss in weight, he will be able to fit through the holes that our mediocre line porvides (unlike last year when it was like trying to cram an elephant into an elevator). So be patient, I have the feeling he will do fairly well this weekend with a TD or maybe two. He has to do it, not only because he is in his home town, but also he can show Mike Mularkey how a running attack is supposed to work. By putting points on the board. McGahee: 23 carries, 114 yards, 2 TD's against the Fish in Miami.
