    Agreed.    Protecting how the term "Bills Mafia" is used in the future is totally within their rights, based on what we know right now.    

     

    For example, what if someone were to make a t-shirt with  "Fu**'en Yeah, Bills Mafia"  The team would have to have the right to issue a cease & desist order to protect their (and the NFL's) image.

     

    Or if someone were to create a "Bills Mafia" line of dildos featuring Tom Brady's face.    Hey....that actually sounds like a good marketing idea...

    LB and D-line are much, much more problematic.    It would be good to have better TE play.    But it's essential to have better LB and D-Line play--and that will be the Bills downfall if they don't get it fixed...

    It's a classic trap game, IMO.    I expect a meteor shower or swam of locusts to upset the "feel good" apple cart we've been experiencing...

    Obligated?  No.   But should have done it?  Yes, absolutely.   It may not be a written requirement, but it's definitely an unwritten one.

     

    Coaches with people skills--who treat their players like individuals and can reach them on a personal level--are enormously effective, even at the pro level.   Players want to play for them, and will go beyond the normal 'its a paycheck' performance.   And you don't have to be a best friend.  Look at Belichick--his players love him, can't recall ever hearing a bad word from them.   Same with McD, they trust him and will follow him as a leader.

     

    I just read a bunch of comments by Taylor Hall, the Sabres new free agent.   Ralph Krueger was a huge reason why he chose Buffalo (in addition to seeing a pot of gold waiting him after a year on Jack's LW):

     

    Hall couldn’t overstate how big of a factor Krueger’s presence played in his decision.

     

    “Ralph is a very interesting human being,” Hall said. “He’s so diversified in his interests and how he talks to people. I think in 2020, a coach like him has the greatest chance of connecting with athletes and really making people better.

     

    “We talk about hockey and how it’s all statistics and stuff like that, but really it’s a bunch of people, and I feel like he can get the most out of people.”

    Steven Hauschka, kicker, Jacksonville. With the Jags trailing the winless Texans by three late in the second quarter, Hauschka stepped in for a 24-yard chip shot to tie the game. Pulled it left, inexplicably. On the last play of the half, Hauschka lined up for a 49-yarder. Short. With the chance—twice—to tie the game going into halftime, Hauschka missed a pair of eminently makeable kicks.
