All I meant to do is to point out that this roster is almost all Amerks. The Black Aces have to come through. Still 2 games to hold serve at home. I am not too optimistic about the Janik matchup with Staal on the road, but we do have 2 games to let Lindy match lines at home. Tomorrow is huge.

The good news is the Rochester Americans can finally get some revenge for the exit last year. Most of these guys know each other.
-
The extent? Well, none of us think it is fatal.

Bennet did the better "I think it is the big one" sack dance.

Grady was funny.

There is a likely scenario for all this: 13 year old kid believes that if he doesn't take one for the team, the planet Zoltar 5 will invade the earth and replace all the women with similar copies. The truth comes out after years go by, and his statue is erected on the mall in Washington. Happy ending. People shout: "Thank you 13 year old boy that saved the human race!"
-
I doubt it, but the boy might.
-
I bet he drew the women just introducing himself. If I ever had a funk band, I would name it "Lucious Sanford"

Toronto Raptors win first draft pick in lottery

I prefer Time Life's Back to the Seventies infomercial. Followed by the Magic Bullet NBA is a distant third. -
I am reluctant to keep this going but this was just too rich. Perspective from Philly papers: "Rod Brind'Amour's Hurricanes have played two games against the Sabres in the Eastern Conference finals and the fans were showing their playoff spirit by mixing it up at the RBC Center in Raleigh, N.C. The Raleigh News and Observer reported that police arrested four fans Saturday and two more Monday, on charges that include assault, fighting and damaging property. By our count, that adds up to a minor, major and game misconduct on the ice."

How did you have time to cheer loudly for goals while you were so busy marauding and pillidging with the rest of us?
-
And to be fair, those were the only North Carolina folks I saw missing teeth.
-
I, for one, like seeing kids at the game. I felt bad for the two ones sitting behind me - because their father thought it was more important to swear and be angry than try to enjoy the game. We even tried some friendly questions - "Do you have a favorite player?" They were clearly instructed not to interact with us or even look at us. Too bad. But then again, I'm no classy Leafs fan.

Laviolette: "Sabres a bunch of divers"
X. Benedict replied to Lurker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Briere has taken some dives this year that would make any Olympic team proud. But I think that after the Boynton comments - he got called for some dives he didn't make - and the refs are reluctant call things like that attempted decapitation. Laviolette is no studenagle - he can read a stat sheet and see that Buff was 3-7 on the power play. -
Shhh. We don't want to the fan base with the highest density of Ph.D's angry at us. They'll start posting angry sonnets.

It is something we were wondering about. Does the RBC have the loudest soundtracks in the NHL or what?
-
Thanks for your southernly breeze of smarm. I don't feel that my behavior was innapropriate. And I have nothing to be ashamed of. Maybe some Sabres fans that were there can't say the same thing. I guess we will have to live with the fact that Raleigh thinks poorly of an entire city based the actions of a few. I only saw what I saw. And let me suggest this. Change that sign on the ice to "The most delicate fans in the NHL" Have a nice day.

4 arrests, some trash, some heavy drinking, some people apologizing that weren't there. How was game 2?
-
I think the only really scary part of that crowd was about 50-60 marines on leave from Camp Lejune all from WNY and totally out of control. I am pretty sure they weren't there last night. Most of us thought, yep, Marines on leave blowing off some steam. Like that would be a surprise. That was the only scary element I saw. And half of that Buffalo crowd was from the South. I don't feel much shame about this one. There was trash talking but a lot of it was from Canes fans and a lot of fun. Guess a few saw it differently. The big thing was the Canes fans came to the arena already pissed off over management decisions about ticketing. Pregame all the Canes fans were saying "thanks management" and slowly that anger was turned to the Rowdy but law abiding visitors. Just my take.
-
As for Raleigh. The only Fan I saw intentionally swearing in front of a kid was the guy sitting behind us with his 9 and 8 year olds. The only assault we witnessed was a Carolina fan punching a guy in the face for chanting "lets go Buffalo" waiting in line to take a leak. There is a little piece of log in your eye.
-
Playoff hockey. I am sure you folks in Raleigh will get over it. Do you really think it would have been any different if any other team's fans were able to purchase 4000 tickets and had an opportunity to flip the building? That doesn't make up for a few schmucks. But smarminess is no way to combat ignorance.

The guy in the seats behind me was pissed. He was with his family. He was profane. "I am not putting up with this sh--, I didn't pay all this money to sit in a Buffalo section." The other guys I was with turned around and said, "Sir, we are here to cheer our team, and enjoy the game, you are certainly in no danger." He and his family were gone by the third period. Yes, we were drinking, but we were neither as profane as him, or as sulky. I didn't see anyone being rude to him, but dammit, we were going to cheer as loud as we could. I think the guy was just discouraged that he ponied up $280 to bring his family to the conference finals and sat in a section where he was totally outnumbered. As for the Arena staff they were great. They keep people from returning to their seats during game action, and were ribbing the Buffalo fans by saying, "You are all welcome here as long as you keep spending your money." Oh well. I still find all of this wildly entertaining.
