  1. You know in an odd way, that makes sense. He certainly brought our offense to a halt!

I think Marrone was a decent coach it was offensive coordinator and o line that sucked. And when you bring in a new coach they always have to have a new system , not that I worry about them changing the offense. I worry about them changing the defense.

Your concern about a defensive change is reasonable, but bear in mind Marrone hired the terrible offensive coordinator and was supposed to be an O-line guru. But the OL was horrible during his tenure. The only thing I liked about him was the fact that he hired Pettine and Schwartz.

  2. I agree Pegula's credibility is not at stake at all. I can see the argument for continuity. IMO it is only a bad argument because it will be Marrone continuing.

Pegula can fire him now or a year from now. He is not an NFL caliber coach. I hate to see us waste another year and have the defense get older. Then you could be looking at a coaching and roster blowup, not just a coaching blowup.

All of this is correct. Whaley can stay for at least another year. Marrone has to go right now.

  3. If we have to get rid of Marrone(and have yet to hear a convincing argument...that isn't based on some subjective crap), why wouldn't we go with Schwartz? What specifically, performance-wise, right now, is Harbaugh doing better than Schwartz?

You realize succeeding as a coordinator is a lot different than succeeding as a head coach, right, and that Schwartz already failed miserably in the latter role once? Harbaugh took over a team amid an eight-year playoff drought and has led it to a 43-16-1 record. That's a .700-plus winning percentage over a large sample size. It's not a one-year fluke. He's helped get them to a point where 7-5 is a colossal disappointment - in the best division in football, no less. He's an elite HC, something the Bills could certainly use.

  4. Bradford. He's got great skill but needs a line to protect him. We are in the process of building that line. The Rams might trade him for a 5th round pick.

They're probably going to cut him.

Look else where like they used to, CFL or Arena league maybe for occasionally teams find gems who were not ready when they came out of college for NFL.

Yeah, I'm sure the Bills will solve their nearly 20-year-old QB woes with a CFLer or arena leaguer. Come on.

  5. OP made some good points but totally undermined them with the 0-16 nonsense. The Bills have fielded much worse teams than this during their playoff drought and haven't come close to a winless season. Also, the new owner's probably going to bring in a fresh staff if the team badly misses the postseason again (with, say, a 6-10 record), so there's no reason whatsoever to root for 0-16 - especially without a first-rounder. That's incredibly dumb.

As the Sabres' owner, Pegula made the mistake of retaining holdovers from the prior regime - Regier and Ruff, who, despite their faults, have accomplished way more than Whaley and Marrone ever have - and it blew up in his face. He won't commit the same error with a grossly underachieving football team. The sword of Damocles is hanging over the entire front office and coaching staff right now. Most/all will be gone if the Bills are garbage again this year.
