  1. This petty, pointless, political jab kills any point you tried to make.

I think thats sorta the point. Olbermann likes to throw his political opinions / jokes in on highlight reels, or even when just talking football on the show. I watch football to get away from the mindlessness of the world. Politics are about as mindless as it gets, IMO. That's not to say that I don't have a political opinion, however...

  2. Really!

So let me get this right. The Saints have had 515 and 421 yards of offense and Brees has had 358 and 311 with 9 TDs in the first 2 weeks. The Bills have given up 441 and 353 yards to the Pats and Bucs, who are terrible. Brady went for 378 yards with 2 TDs and Leftwich went for 296 yards and 3 TDs, and somehow you think the Bills can take the Saints offense out of the equation. Right! Thanks for the laugh though!

You realize that the bloated offensive numbers has been partly due to the fact that through 120 minutes of football, the Bills have been down for about 1 minute and the other team has been playing catch up, right? Leftwich really bloated his stats when they were just chucking the ball at the end of the game. Not saying our pass defense is spectacular, but I don't think that it as bad as the stats indicate it is at this point in the season.

  3. Last week during the games I had a message on my old receiver upstairs that said that I'd need to upgrade to a new reciever for the following week of Sunday Ticket. We called and they sent us a new one by Thursday.

I wish I would have got the message. Better yet, why couldn't they just set up an automated phone call to all ST subscribers? This is not good for business for DTV...

  4. Regular season folks....first regular season visit. I went to the last game in Tampa - Game 2 of the JP experiment. What a disaster of a trip that was.

Oh man. I went to that game with my drunken Bucs fan friend. What a horrid game for a Bills fan. It was hot as heck, and we got the Losman/Holcomb two headed monster! Ugh...

  5. I thought he played a pretty good game. He is a LB not a DB, so to expect him to have better coverage than he had on that second TD 20 yards downfield isn't realistic.

    exactly! <_<

Any linebacker in the league would have trouble running a vertical route with a highly athletic pass catching TE. Combine the great throws by Brady, and its game over. The vast majority of the QBs in this league would have trouble making that throw once, not to mention twice.

  6. Just wondering - is it me, or did T.O. look slow? Maybe I'm just not used to the long strides or something, but to me, he didn't appear all that quick.

Haven't really followed his career that closely, so maybe his style is just deceptive and he uses his great route-running to make up for flat out speed.

Somebody fill in the blanks for me.

I noticed that too. He looked slow on his RAC on the first reception.

  7. Rotating players and nickel/dime packages are completely different. Kelsey gets paid at the top of his position and you think it's okay if he is a two down player? What happenes if they throw on 2nd? Maybe he can just play on 1st down. Ridiculous.

For the record, I don't have an opinion either way on Kelsay. It is not my job to examine the nuances of the game and evaluate his game to that level. I do not see the players day in and day out. I do not know how they lead in the locker room. I do not know what intangibles they give to the team. The only thing I know is what I see on gameday on the TV.

I do have an opinion on you jumping all over another person's post that seemed pretty straight forward and sensible. The point of the original post that you jumped on was that Kelsay is an average DE that plays better against the run than against the pass. Any liability that he is against the pass will be mitigated by Maybin taking his spot on obvious passing downs. Thats it. Seems fair enough to me. BobDVA, correct me if I am wrong on this.

Now, I don't know how Kelsay's current salary compares with other starting LDEs. Since you apparently do know, can you please provide that for me? Otherwise, yes I am perfectly fine with Kelsay playing 2 downs and Maybin playing third. You should too. Its not like you are paying his salary. :wallbash:

  8. There is no such thing as a DE in a Cover 2 defense who comes out on 3rd downs. Know what you are talking about before you open your a##hole!

    :worthy:

Geez, dude. Ever heard of diazepam?

And, I believe that the Bills do rotate D lineman (to include the D ends) on obvious passing downs. So, to sub in a pass rushing specialist on a 3rd and 10 for the better run stopping end is an appropriate tactic. I don't see how the cover 2 defense has anything to do with it.

  9. DeVree: "The Patriots* are going to run a lot of deep bombs from Brady to Moss. Then they're going to try to pick you apart with Wes Welker. Then they might screen you to death once you start overpursing and blitzing on plays. And rest assured, if Maroney and Taylor don't run all over you, Kevin Faulk will. By the way, the defense will try to confuse Trent Edwards and force him to check down to covered RB's for 2-3 yard gains."

Come on man, that was too easy! The Patriots* offensive M.O. is transparent to all of us, yet is so opaque to the coaching staff. :censored:
