It wasn't because he was getting the hang of the 3-4, it was because the quit using him in the 3-4. He played 4-3 end and did play much better the second half of the year.

I'm probably the biggest Brad Smith Fan on the board considering I was at Mizzou during all 4 years he was our QB but he threw some of the worst wounded ducks I've ever seen (in college anyway). His ball never had that much zip on it.

How stoned can you be?
I've been trying to solve that mystery for 15 years.

but she did not shoot the deputy with her vagina

That vagina is the gift that keeps on giving....although that is a recipe for the worst case of lock jaw in the history of mankind.

Thanks for the hard work Mike! Really enjoy reading these.

The main reason I was surprised by the weight was that he weighed in a the combine at 319lbs.....

Regardless of what else needs to get done in FA (or what hasn't happened), Brad Smith is a damn good football player and will help this team win games. Plus, he's a really good dude and somebody who is easy to root for.

He was in the right place at the right time for most of those interceptions
Yes he was but to his credit he made the plays when those opportunities were there for the taking.

You have, ofcourse, seen the time stamp on that article (?)
That's dated 7/25...
That was written three days ago.
That's from three days ago

Sorry didn't look who posted it......been a lot of trolls coming out from under their bridges as of late.

Don't be a drama queen. Big difference between a pro bowl lineman and a 2nd and 3rd string QB.
No crap, this isn't Dockery were talking about. Clabo plays with a MEAN streak and will be a HUGE upgrade to this line. Please let this be true.
-
If true, this really sucks. I'm sure, without even knowing any of the details of the money or length of contract, we overpaid for an offensive lineman.

You don't mean Holcombs_Arm, do you?
And don't forget LaDarius, ICE, BF_in_Indiana.
LaDarius is the best! Don't be squawkin like the parrot you are.

What position positions is he going to play?
Fixed

I know you have a cool attachment to him via school, but do you think he is a good pickup?
Honestly I wish we would fill areas of real need first but he's a playmaker and you can never have enough of them. My guess is they plan on expanding CJ's role in the offense a lot (duh) and don't want to risk injury to him in the return game. Brad Smith is a stand up guy, will be great in the locker room, and DYNAMIC in the return game. The fact that he didn't get voted into the Pro Bowl last year as a returner was a joke.

I know what Jersey I'm buying! Go Bills and Go Mizzou!

He would be the best returner on the team. Not to mention a Brad Smith / CJ Spiller Wildcat would be ridiculous. Smith is such a long strider that he doesn't look like he runs that fast but he is dangerous in the open field......
-
I would love this signing for the mere fact that my sophomore year at Mizzou was when Brad came in single handedly changed the course of Mizzou football. He is my all time favorite Tiger. Guy is a class act and a Dynamic returner. That being said, we don't need him but what the hell.

The Bolts signed Spikes too didnt they? Looks like he is on the way out
Yup and Weddle, looks like they won't have the money for Burnett. Article states that two different sources claim his asking price is north of 5mil/year......

http://boltbeat.com/2011/07/25/the-chargers-should-____________-post-nfl-lockout/
The key un-restricted free agents on the Bolts are safety Eric Weddle; line backer Kevin Burnett and Stephen Cooper, and wide receiver Malcolm Floyd. All four players played key roles for the team last year. Weddle, Burnett, and Cooper helped anchor a much improved defense that ranked #1 overall. The Chargers next priority should be attempting to retain Kevin Burnett. Burnett racked in 95 total tackles, only 1 off the team lead. He is known for his ability to help clog up the run and read defenses well. However, Burnett can get around the edge and get sacks, he had 6 last year. The linebacker need is glaring for the Chargers; I would expect him to fill that need nicely. As bad as they do need Burnett, makes the need for teammate Stephen Cooper much less.
So wait he's good against the run and at rushing the passer from inside? Sounds better by the second. Sign this guy.
