  1. Bills 30 Packers 14 Crews were impressed by Buffalonians' spirit 11/2/2006 My husband was a member of one of the many crews dispatched to Buffalo during the October snowstorm. He was away from home for two weeks, returning power to Buffalo's hardest-hit areas. When he returned home, he showed me the Oct. 23 issue of The News covering the storm. In it there was an editorial titled "Power crews, well done." I am writing to let Buffalo know that, yes, the special spirit of Buffalonians was evident throughout my husband's two-week stay. He raved about the kind people of Buffalo every night during our phone calls. The first thing he would tell me is how wonderful everyone was to him and his crew. People would stop by his work site to offer coffee, doughnuts, cookies and, most of all, a thank you. Even after being out of power for so long, everyone was patient and in good spirits. One woman was so appreciative when her power was restored she cried tears of joy while thanking him. I just wanted to let Buffalonians know their kindness did not go unnoticed. It was overwhelming to the out-of-town crews. Jane DeCann Phelps
  2. Dear Mr. Argo Otterpoops, Knowing Buffalo wasn't Ralph's first choice; I'm thankful the Bills ended up in Buffalo - thanks to Ralph. Ralph would never move the Bills; but he did make that initial choice to bring them here. Hence, without Ralph, there would be no Buffalo Bills. I didn't say anything about being insecure about their future. I, too, believe the Bills will forever remain in WNY. The league knows, the region knows, and our politicians know not to mess that one up. Thanks again, Ralph, for doing the best that you can do. You won't be able to please everyone; but know that this Bills' family appreciates all that you have done. Peace
  3. 40-story office-hotel structure also would be most expensive At 600 feet tall, the $361 million, ultra-contemporary glass and steel office, hotel and condo tower would eclipse the HSBC Center in height by 33 feet and would rank among the tallest buildings between New York City and Chicago. New Buffalo New Buffalo 2 New Buffalo 3 Go Buffalo!
  4. Yup, and without Ralph Wilson, there would be no Buffalo Bills. Go be a Toronto Argo's fan if you don't like what we have here you freak.
  5. Argonauts: The biggest highlight of the season may have occurred off the field as regular season attendance in 2005 averaged 30,196 fans per game, an increase of 17% over the 2004 average of 25,813. You believe they are going to move to a city that draws 30,000 fans to its own league? And thats a huge increase? And thats the year after they won the Grey Cup. lol
  6. Sorry, mean no disrepect but the new Mayor of Buffalo has to go. This guy doesn't have a clue. Yeah, Buffalo will survive without the Bills - but it will be one miserable place. Brown Says Buffalo Can Survive Without Bills Link Apr 10, 2006 - The Mayor of Buffalo is now weighing in on the future of the Buffalo Bills. This comes one day after Bills owner Ralph Wilson said he can't guarantee the team will stay in Western New York. Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown says he will offer his assistance to the Bills anyway he can. Brown does not want to see the team go, but did say Buffalo would survive if the team picked up and left. Wilson believes the new NFL collective bargaining agreement will hamper small market teams and jeopardizes the long term viability of the Bills in Western New York. Brown has a vision for a new downtown stadium, but wouldn't elaborate if that would come to life soon or help the Bills stay in the area. Email this loser at: pculter@city-buffalo.com
  7. I'm a LOT 5 type of guy Wonder what those lots will be like when the BILLS are playing in LA? We gotta increase our presence... the squeeky wheel always get's the oil. We gotta make noise and draw the line in the sand. The BILLS will forever play in Buffalo, period. thanks cablelady.
  8. I understand and thank you. Perhaps you can encourage a friend, family member or colleague to buy a ticket... the more the merrier. We all know how much fun tailgating at the Ralph is... I don't want that to stop. But this is the time, if ever, to support the BILLS.
  9. that's bull sh--. if we sit back and do as you say - we will have our selves to blame. there is no deal on the table for the Bills to LA - so, there is plenty to be done; both politically and strategically to keep the BILLS in Buffalo. IF LA is so important - and if the NFL is willing to make concessions to New Orleans, a city that was devasted last year with more 3/4 of it's population displaced - A well organized, stragetic plan - that emphasizes on politics - the media - and hard work - will result in keeping the BILLS in Buffalo. Glad you weren't around during the American Revolution and Civil War. There is no done deal. The only done deal will be to keep the Bills in Buffalo.
  10. Is anyone creating a web site (keepthebillsinbuffalo.com or something catchy) that provides an outlet for folks to get involved? We really need to organize and take on this issue. We have been far too reactive and not proactive enough when it comes to the Buffalo Bills. We need ONE official web site where fellow fans can go and find all the critical information and action steps to help keep the BILLS in BUFFALO. For example, the site can contain address, email address, and phone information for: -Important NFL HQ Names and Addresses -The New Search Committee Member Names and Addresses -Addresses to the large league owners (Kraft/Snyder/Jones, etc.) to send professional, non-threatening letters to these folks reminding them of the importance of the BILLS are to WNY/Southern Ontario -Important Politicians who can help support our cause. (Pataki, new Gubernatorial candidates, US Senators (Schumer/Clinton), Congress (HIGGINS would be AWESOME spokesman for the little guy - he is doing great stuff right now in BUF), County Executive, Mayors, and even Canadian politicians. We also need to provide direct links to the BILLS web site encouraging season ticket and individual ticket sales. We could also start an on-line petition. We also need to reach out to Buffalo Bills Backers Clubs in other cities and states around the world for support. WE need all the support we can get. WE have the base - we have to show it. But we have to organize. Any other ideas? I'd be willing to take on the site creation - but I don't want to waste time if plans are under way. I would also be willing to approach Lamar Advertising, Mighty Taco, the NFTA, Artvoice, Buffalo News, Rochester D&C and other media outlets for free advertising space and support. Please advise and chime in.
  11. Oh, the *drama* -- I can't buy a seat near my current seats - what to do? Enuff! Cry me an F'in river biotches! I own FOUR TICKETS and am about to buy TWO more you morons. If you can't use the ticket(s) - donate them to charity - sell them - gift them away to friends and family. BUT buy an extra and shut the "F" up. I expected this response from most of you - I want the BILLS but I don't want to pay for them. Well, if season ticket sales are at full capacity - it SAY'S A LOT! IF the BILLS leave - we, the fans - are JUST as much responsible as the new CBA. Bring it on gurls.
  12. Note these usernames - when the Bills leave - these bitches will be the first to whine. Go away you blow hards. kdharge ofiba beerme1 krazykat Kelso's Helmet
  13. Buy a season ticket, first. Then write a letter. Without the season ticket - your voice is mute. WE gotta put our money where our mouths are... Come on folks, buy a season ticket today.
  14. If you are serious about keeping the BILLS in Buffalo - we need to do our small part by increasing Season Ticket Sales to full capacity. If you are a Season Ticket holder - PLEASE consider buying ONE additional seat this year. WE must force a waiting list and send a message to the rest of the NFL that this is a SERIOUS football town and will show it with our MONEY. If you are serious and concerned - show it. If not, then don't cry if the BILLS leave. Buy your season tickets by clicking here
  15. She is currently in VISA and Dunkin Donut commercials. Yeah, she !@#$ up - who cares? She's still hot in my opinion... Scott who? (letitgo.com)
  16. I never said anything about selling out games. You're trying to tell me that New Orleans, J-ville, and Tampa have THAT many more corporate dollars and sponsorship? Prove it.
  17. Am I the only one who is tired of reading sh-- about the BILLS moving or sharing them with Toronto? Buffalo is a very profitable team and the NFL has no desire to abandon this market. Move the team to Toronto? The Blue Jays can barely compete or sell out... Let the Canadians keep their CFL and the Leafs. The BILLS will never leave Buffalo. Trust me, I know. If the NFL is committed to New Orleans, Jacksonville, and Tampa - Buffalo should feel NO threat of a move or what have you. I wish the moderators could delete these posts upon entry.
  18. Ridiculous Comparison. "He launched his career in 1975 as a special assistant with the Baltimore Colts, then became an assistant special teams coach with Detroit (1976-77) and Denver (1978). In 1979, he joined the New York Giants and contributed to Super Bowl championships with the team in 1986 and 1990 as the team’s defensive coordinator. Following Super Bowl XXV, Belichick was named head coach of the Cleveland Browns in 1991, becoming the youngest head coach in the NFL at age 37. By 1994, Belichick brought the Browns back to the playoffs, finishing 11-5 and advancing to the second round of the playoffs, while allowing a league-low 204 total points. In 1996, Belichick joined New England and was a key contributor to the team’s rebound from a 6-10 season in 1995 to an 11-5 season and the team’s first division title in 10 years en route to Super Bowl XXXI against Green Bay. Belichick then spent three seasons with the New York Jets from 1997 to 1999, helping New York improve from a 1-15 season in 1996 to an appearance in the AFC Championship Game in 1998."source Jauron cannot even touch Belichick's success. We picked a loser - and sadly, we'll all continue to pay.
  19. You beat me to the post. I'm not a conspiracy theorist - but I can't help but look at the events that have transpired and think: this whole thing smells funny. Every move the Bills have made seems to disengage the fan more and more. The latest: the hiring of Jauron - put its over the top. I'm so tired of living in an area and being held captive to a team that puts you in a catch 22: If you don't buy the tickets - the Bills will leave. If you buy the tickets and support the team: you're consistently let down. As much as I appreciate Ralph Wilson and sincerely hope to see him win the BIG ONE - I just can't help but question his commitment to winning. He's gotta want it for himself; fans can't hope for the best. Only he can deliver. And, once again, he went wide right. So, here's to the best - Go BILLS
  20. Old boys network sets back buffalo again. Sucks to be a young person and care so much for Buffalo/Bills on so many levels. Politicians, Marv, Ralph - please retire and move on. You've screwed up our area enough... and now the Bills are done, too.. "Give whoever it may be a chance?" WTF is that? Jauron had a chance with Chicago and Detroit. He's done and so is this bills supporting family. No more. !@#$ the BILLS
  21. Just chatted with a client from Chicago... He cannot BELIEVE the Bills would even consider D Jauron as HC. I agree...
  22. Levy said his goal was simple: "Our inention is not just to go to the Super Bowl, but to win it - as quickly as possible." I couldn't be happier with the moves this week. Call me an eternal optimist but Levy has the character, vision and determination not to fail. He HAS unfinished business and coming back to Buffalo is a perfect and fitting place to accomplish those goals. Mularkey will be fine. PLEASE surround him with the best OC/DC available. Go BILLS.
  23. I don't hate FLUTIE - I HATE the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS! You should hear these guys on sports radio up here in New England - they are so damn confident and cocky - "Pats WILL repeat" - it's disgusting. Go JAGS!
